I was busy making breakfast and lunches for my kids and trying to get them ready for school. I don’t usually get a chance to eat until the kids are at school but I tried the double choc protein bar and it’s such a gift to have a breakfast I can put down so I can brush someone’s teeth, or hair, or find a missing library book, and when I come back to it, it hasn’t gotten soggy or cold. However, I could eat it with one hand and in about 6 bites, as it’s melt in your mouth soft with a smooth chocolate-oat flavour, so I didn’t have to put it down much at all. I ate it half an hour ago and I still feel satisfied. I think my only complaint is there are only 5 in the pack!

These are full of garbage low quality ingredients. They might taste good but they are in no way healthy. Read your ingredient lists people. It is a crime that uncle Tobys are even allowed to list this with a 4. 5 star health rating. That is an outright LIE. At most, with what these bars are made of, they deserve no higher than 2 stars. People wonder why they’re so unhealthy and it’s because they trust companies like these with their health. We can do better! And Uncle Toby’s I expect better from you too.

I rarely have muesli bars as they are high in sugar and I prefer other sweet treats over them but these were nice to try. Compared to a regular muesli bar, they have a lighter texture and so are not as dense. The protein source is the soy protein crisps though these bars aren't high in protein. I found the Double Choc one didn’t have a strong chocolate taste. The Caramel one was nicer as the flavour was stronger.

They’re super light and crispy, so you don’t feel that heaviness like after eating regular muesli bars. They also aren’t as chewy as regular bars, with a nice balance of oats to protein puffs. The dark choc drizzle is just enough to add an extra layer of flavour without being overpowering, and the choc tastes rich and natural. If you don’t like coconut, you probably won’t enjoy these, but they’re so tasty you forget they’re actually good for you!Can’t wait to try the other flavours!

Disclosure: Gifted for honest review. Personally I have mixed feelings about this product. Generally I find that protein snacks like protein bars have a flavour/texture to them that makes them slightly less enjoyable for me, but that won't be the case for everyone. I also feel that other than the protein flavour/texture, it is a tasty snack for on the go with added protein which is awesome to have in my bag on the go. It's easy to have one of these in my baby bag so that there's something I can eat with some protein in it if I'm not able to stop for a whole meal straight away 👌. If you normally like protein bars and snacks, then this is a great option for you ☺️👌.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] The Double Choc and Caramel Dark Choc Uncle Tobys Protein Muesli bars were both rich in flavour and tasty. The blend of nuts gave it a good texture and crunchy feeling. Both contains sugar but are not overly sweet which is a plus. Overall, these protein bars are healthier alternative if you want a quick snack fix and both flavours definitely go well together with a cuppa.

The double choc definitely hits you straight away, with a chocolate base of oats and choc drizzle. With cocoa making up the choc for the base I found this a little unappealing leaning more bitter than sweet. You could tell this was a protein added bar and it just didn’t hit what I was wanting. The little crisps inside give it a great texture and the choc drizzle was good. I’d eat it again for a convenient snack but the caramel flavour in the range is far superior.

These protein bars are quite tasty. They only contain a little bit more protein than a standard muesli bar so you are not going to get the typical protein bar taste. The texture is lighter than a typical muesli bar as it contains less oats and includes soy protein crisps. These bars are still high in sugar so it’s nice to have once in a while or in your bag for an emergency snack. This is not a health food but a sweet treat. There is little difference in the nutritional value of these muesli bars and other muesli bars.
