What do you need from your go-to running shorts? They need to be light and stretchy to let you move, and have a liner to keep you dry. Done.

UNDER ARMOUR LAUNCH SHORTS - BLACK 2XL

A good phone pocket is important for me when running and these shorts do not have that. My phone plus size phone doesn’t fit in the pocket and even if I force it in, it would be very uncomfortable to run in.However, the mini key pocket on the inside and the built in briefs are nice features for people who don’t care about a pocket for their phones. The material is light and comfy and it’s great to run in. The fit is true to size. If you’re just looking for a pair of good running shorts, these are great.

Ok so I’m a bit of a fan of the Launch shorts. I’ve been wearing the different iterations of them for about 10 years now and it’s always fun seeing the incremental changes. I just bought 2 new pairs and have about 200kms on them so here’s my thoughts.First of all they have really nailed it with the brief liner. I’ve had other brands where the liner was too tight, too baggy or so slim that it cut in. These have the goldilocks size liner. New material thing time round and I’m enjoying that too.Second, the pockets. Oh the pockets. I mean how hard can it be to make simple pockets on a running short but I’ve had so many different pairs of running shorts that become totally unusable the instant you put a phone in them. These pockets are perfect. They are large enough ... MoreOk so I’m a bit of a fan of the Launch shorts. These pockets are perfect. They are large enough that I can drop my wind breaker or mitts into them when I get too hot yet tight and structured enough that they don’t swing around when full. And the mesh insert for the phone is amazing. It holds my phone nicely with little bounce or pendulum effect but still keeps it accessible if I want to change my music on the run. I like it way better than a zippered pocket on the back. I’ve dropped my phone way too many times pulling it out of a back pocket.Thirdly the waist band. The new one is super premium and great to find on shorts in this price range. So great job UA these are the best. I’ll probably own four or five pairs before long.I bought these mainly for running but I love them so much I use them for hiking, swimming and normal wear as well.

I'll start by saying I love Under Armour and have a closet full of a number of products that have lasted a loooong time. These particular shorts have been a major disappointment. They are my most recent purchase and are being thrown away first. The seems on the inside came apart quickly and grew into significant rips during a run. This lead to considerable chaffing and a couple of uncomfortable days. Maybe this was just an issue with my pair - who knows.I would not recommend these as a purchase unless there are a few more reviews from people who have worn them for a while.

I have to say that I really like these shorts. First of all I’m not a tall person at 5ft 7in these fit me perfect. I’ve tried wearing 7or 9 inch shorts and I might as well be wearing long pants. These are light and have a built in brief which is great in hot weather. They are also quite nice looking. You can not only wear them to the gym but you can go out in them also. If there is one that I don’t like it is that I feel like the waistband is a little too tight ( I am not at all overweight or ou of shape). I have other UA shorts and the waistbands are very comfortable. That little problem aside, I do really like these shorts so much I bought 2 pairs in different colors. I prefer 3" shorts for running but it seems like the shorter the shorts, the higher the price. So, I went with these Under Armour 5" Launch shorts and I'm pretty pleased. They're comfortable, seem well-made, and don't restrict my movement in any way. Nice color too. I've gotten compliments on them.
I have six pairs of these shorts now. They are great because I love brief liner shorts and hardly anyone makes them anymore. My only “issue” is the material holds onto the detergent after being washed. I can see residue detergent on the shorts. I’ve had this occur with pods and powder detergent.I also had to order a size up from normal. I’m a 32-33 and got a large.
I'm a big fan of sports wear, particularly under armour. Unfortunately you lot make a heap of shorts with no logic. Your saggy breather pockets are unusable. Keys, phone, wallet, doesn't matter what's in there she can't handle the weight without sagging so low it is exposed beneath the short length and you look like an idiot strutting down the street. Who's testing the practicality of these things? If you can not create the perfect length/strength/usable pocket then don't give me false hope with one. Stitch no pocket hole and save us the disappointment. Your shoes are great, singlets are fine, hoods are good, shorts need some attention. Don't buy this particular short if using for wear outside of 'running only'
I own a number of the 7" length shorts and they are great. I am a size M, and in these shorts they are about 2cm shorter around the waist compared to their longer counterparts. Potentially due to this the shorts ride up on the thighs while running and become a little uncomfortable. As mentioned by others the 'useful' pockets hang below the bottom of the shorts, even when they are empty. Either buy a size up, or better yet, go for the 7" length version.
Among all the running shorts I have used, these are the ones that I am most disappointed with. First the positives: they are very light weight and stretch well. But other than that nothing else works for me with these shorts. They ride up very badly when I run. I keep pushing them down often during the run. If I don't adjust them, I chafe. Although, it has a dedicated pocket for phone that along with every other pockets are completely useless. These pockets are so stretchy, that if I carry phone in any of them they slide down beyond the seams - the phone is almost dangling and hitting my thighs when I run. you can only use these pockets for light weight small items. These shorts also run small. I am 33" waist and use medium in every other shorts. Fit great and very comfortable. The back Speed Pocket easily holds my iPhone 12 Max with a Pop Socket. Pocket holds my phone in a death grip- hooray, no more arm bands etc. Only minor drawback is no pockets but there is a small pocket in the back for a key fob. Already bought another pair.
