I am disappointed with the product although it does do some features well. For the price we paid I have higher expectations. My main issues are which I would have liked to know before buying:The power on off button makes a beep noise on the camera section (in baby’s room) which is frustrating as it wakes the baby sometimes. The noise is quite loud! However the screen/monitor section (parents section) power button does not! Seems backwards to me.Secondly I have since learned other brand monitors have a feature whereby the sensitivity settings can be altered so the screen will only show when a certain level of noise or fussing is detected, I would have liked that had I known such technology existed.Another design flaw I have noticed is the AC power and AUX socket ... MoreI am disappointed with the product although it does do some features well. For the price we paid I have higher expectations. My main issues are which I would have liked to know before buying:The power on off button makes a beep noise on the camera section (in baby’s room) which is frustrating as it wakes the baby sometimes. Unless you are an IT guru I don’t imagine any new parents will have the time of day (or night) to mess about with that.

This is generally a good monitor. The temp function is very useful and its all super user friendly. Works straight out of the box. Battery life is ok. After having it for about a year (and constantly using it on battery) it has about 6hrs of life if you don't keep the screen on.Range is ok. Provided that the aerials are out, it can go from one side of our small house through to the garden. That being said, the aerials are flimsy and we managed to break both in the first year. Also, after nearly a year the receiver decided it would no longer power on. Noel's were brilliant though and I walked out of the shop with a brand new one as soon as I returned the defective unit.I would recommend this one over the internet connected ones. I would describe this unit as decent, but not great. The picture quality is pretty good, even in night vision, except something weird happened to the colours on my monitor after a couple of months of use. In the attached photo, the blanket in the cot is actually green not pink, and the carpet is dark grey. My biggest gripe with this product is the App. It often won’t connect, it crashes frequently, and I’ve had to delete and re-add the unit to it several times to get it to work. It will ask me for my password, tell me to update it, which I do, and then tell me my password is wrong. It’s very frustrating. When it does work, however, it is great and allows me to see my son when I’m out of the house or for use as a second monitor. I have this monitor now after purchasing another that has terrible picture quality. I must say this picture is so clear even in pitch black room at night however there are features on it that leave me looking for yet another monitor.Firstly if you have it off charge and the battery runs out there is a silent alert that flashes on the screen. How is this helpful if I'm sleeping? The monitor just flashes and then simply turns off.Secondly the same issue arises when the temp in the room falls outside the limits you have set (great feature) yet again this alarm is silent. Last night the heater failed in bubs room and the temperature fell to 14 degrees C and she was freezing!!! We were none the wiser because the only alert was a little flashing light on the screen ... MoreI have this monitor now after purchasing another that has terrible picture quality. After a lot of research I was nervous but went with the Uniden. After owning Oricom basic model I am really impressed with the following with Uniden: Very clear picture Great zoom Love that it has temperature reading that I can see at night Very easy to use! The microwave doesnt interfere with it like the Oricom did. Great connectivity/reception - we have a 4 brm house and its great! Easy to mount on the wall, comes with a great bracket. Camera light is great not too bright, it has a night light you can use when checking yr little one. Things I dont like: Volume sound quality is not as good the Oricom The Oricom allowed me to turn on the screen at night for a 10sec look, the Uniden I have to wait 2min before it goes off. So all in all I love and am very happy I went with the Uniden, the things I dont like are not that important to me, the connection, viewing and temperature indicator were my priorities.
In the seven months since I’ve owned this, it’s had to be replaced twice. First time it just turned off and never turned back on and second time the power saving mode stopped working so it shines bright and loud in my face all night instead of just lighting up when he moves a lot or makes noise. The screen is super bright and even the lowest sound setting is loud. The app is terrible. You need to plug the base in to work and where it needs to plugged in to power overnight it can’t be plugged into the internet too. The battery life is poor.Otherwise I love the clip aspect and the picture quality.
Pros:- Works as a basic baby monitor. The picture quality and sound are decent.Cons:- The app doesn't work very well and you need to have the parent unit connected to the internet modem via a ethernet cord (thats not included).- The yellow lights on the camera that show the monitor is 'on' and 'charged' are really bright and light up bubs room a lot. We keep the room pitch black, so I've had to stick thick bits of paper over the top, otherwise she is distracted by everything in the room or the light themselves as it is mounted overhead.- Loud beep when turning the cam on / off.- The battery life of both the camera and the parent unit are poor and need to be plugged in almost all the time, making them a lot less mobile.- The buttons on the parent unit ... MorePros:- Works as a basic baby monitor. The only alternative is to use the screen saver mode but even with crying or movement the screen wont come back on - it might as well be turned off.If you're looking to buy this monitor for the app and remote use then look for something else. It's not a very well thought out design and is impractical in a lot of ways. It could be improved so much with a few adjustments.Overall it's pretty disappointed given the cost. It basically functions are a basic monitor with an expensive price tag.
First one we bought showed out of range unless you're within 30cm of the camera within 6 weeks. Second one has issues with the temperature saying it's 31 degrees in a cold one. It also says low battery even after a full day charging. Makes this stupid loud beep which you can't turn off when you turn the camera off or on. This is ridiculous design with something designed to be within 1m of your babies head. When it's working the product was good, but we've had 2 duds and this beeping is enough for 1 star
So disappointed!! Had an older version with this monitor with our first born which we had issues with but eventually got working after re-setting multiple times. Stupidly got the next model up for this baby and the sound didn’t work with lcd sleep mode on. So returned assuming this was a fault. NOPE these just suck. I could literally clap my hands and yell into the camera and it wouldn’t register the noise. Now I have to return a SECOND monitor. Not happy and such a rip off for the price!!
Have had this monitor for 8 months - and really tried to like it.The camera with the clip was handy and the picture quality is really goodBut the sound is horrendous! If you have the camera plugged in (which you have to do if baby is asleep for more than an hour) it has so much interference noise that you can't have the sound on - because it doesn't pick up anything except the interference.I had a bit of a rhythm of having the camera not plugged in for the day naps - meaning I could have the sound on, however the interference noise was only half as loud as before and it would only pick up very loud noises - which I heard from the babies room before the monitor picked it up.I also don't understand why they would put a very loud beep to let you know when you ... MoreHave had this monitor for 8 months - and really tried to like it.The camera with the clip was handy and the picture quality is really goodBut the sound is horrendous! If you have the camera plugged in (which you have to do if baby is asleep for more than an hour) it has so much interference noise that you can't have the sound on - because it doesn't pick up anything except the interference.I had a bit of a rhythm of having the camera not plugged in for the day naps - meaning I could have the sound on, however the interference noise was only half as loud as before and it would only pick up very loud noises - which I heard from the babies room before the monitor picked it up.I also don't understand why they would put a very loud beep to let you know when you turn the camera on and off, as well as bright lights indicating the same - obviously a parent was not consulted about this... Especially when the parent monitor doesn't have any beep to tell you if it's ok or not - surely you would want it the other way around! Also very short range - disconnected as out of range when I went to the letter box which is only about 10m from front door. All in all I was very very happy to exchange it for a different brand and actually be able to use it for the features you want in a baby monitor.
