Work really good, and I like how they charge on the base station. I upgraded the rechargeable AAs to improve longevity. I can also use a solar panel to charge them so this is a great survival tool. No real cons come to mind, ive owned for about a year now.

It works relly whelll and the ringe is verry good the range gos a long way it is good for out where I live because we dhont mobile phones ridge if there is a car arsdent we can use them to get help

Awful product

Awful product, after 200 meters communications begin to have extreme crackle, after 500 meters completely lose transmission in an urban environment. If the walkie talkies were used in a completely open field then yea it would most likely reach up to 10 km however, in practical environment surrounded by trees and hills I can guarantee it won’t last even up to 3 km. Staff members should also familiarise themselves with the product, person who I spoke to just repeated what was already on the box.

Fantastic little but powerful radios

Things have certainly changed in the last 20 years. These radios have automatic squelch which can be coded to respond only to radios with the same settings, giving a one-way private line (other people can still hear you but you won't be bothered by them if they try to break in on your conversation) - Tiny radios that fit in the palm of your hand but still belt out a respectable 1.5 watts of power. Range is genuinely good/useful. Rechargable batteries ARE included, along with docking cradle but can also be charged directly with USB. Highly recommended units. Used around Otago, the hills don't prove much of a problem and outdoor obstacles seem fine (trees, buildings etc). Used over 5km without any problem at all. Good quality and worth the money

The units are very light and solid. The capacity of the batteries is on the low side but good enough for a day trip. The DCS feature is very good and cleaned up most of the unwanted signal. I have been using them over the last 2 weekends and I still have full bar.

Great for family

Works well. Daughter just rode to a friend's house a couple of kms away to check on their pets while they are in hospital and she used it to radio back what she was up to. Clear and easy to use.

Range with any obstacles in the way is terrible

Range more like 300 metres if anything at all is the way. Really disappointed and will be returning for a refund

Stick to what u do good

Brought these a while ago and been pretty happy with them. Use them hunting and have had good results regarding range and sound quality. One draw back is the gimmicky little led light on the bottom, it provides very little useful light and is a quick and easy way for the battery to drain when its in your bag.

The radios aren't USA compatible, so I wasted my money. I contacted OUTBACK immediately but didn't get a response until 31 days later. The customer service representative was very helpful and attached a return slip to the email. I filled out the paperwork and went to my local mailing service to return the radios. There, I was informed that shipping to return the radios will cost OVER $120-- practically the value of the radios! Still waiting to hear back from Outback about them paying for return shipping.
