The UAD-2 Satellite works just fine and allows UA plugins to not slow down your computer and recording software. Comes with some good stuff and other plugins are available from Universal Audio. Nothing to dislike about this plugin accelerator, and it's portable. Have had it for one week. It's easy to apply the plugins to your audio tracks. Meets my expectations.

The UAD-2 Satellite works just fine and allows UA plugins to not slow down your computer and recording software. Comes with some good stuff and other plugins are available from Universal Audio. The quad core allows me to use enough plug-ins to get a good mix without bouncing tracks each time. It's lightweight and compact and looks good with the other equipment. Sturdy and well-built as well.
This is quickly becoming my "go-to" piece of gear with its plugins. The legacy plugins that were bundled with the unit are top-notch, and the Oxide Tape plugin that I added to the group is getting regular usage. Highly recommended.
Takes the weight off of your system when using lots of UAD plugs and on a Mac it really is plug and play, very easy to set up!
If your inbox audio processing drag your projects down then this is one of the many solutions you can get. Perfect analog sound, crystal clear!
Buying UAD is a gamble. If it works, it's great, but when it doesn't... then you best hope you didn't buy from Andertons or, like me, you'll be just outside the return window with them refusing to refund or replace the unit. The Quad USB Satelitte caused nothing but error messages. 2 months of talking with UAD support to no avail, several lost weeks of work, so much wasted time talking to Andertons... £700 down the drain.
Love the UAD2 Satellite, especially with the MkII plugins. Neve 1084 on vocals and horns, API Vision on drums and bass! Best of all worlds. Oh, and this was really an Octo that was listed incorrectly as a Quad, so an even better deal!
People over exaggerate the price of these things. I can leave my apollo at the studio and pack up this little guy to take home with my hard drive to mix everything with. Not only does it give you access to the UAD console but also to the plugins. I love this product and am not looking back!
