This product is easy to work with and had good coverage. It does dry matte unlike some other varnishes I have used. Also, the price was good for the level of quality.

When applied properly, yeld the best finish ever. Make sure to follow the instructions. I strongly recommend this product.

Vallejo claims this polyurethane varnish is superior to their own acrylic matte varnish. The benefit of this compared to that product, is that the polyurethane is supposedly more durable. That being said, this varnish is much thicker than Vallejo's acrylic varnish which I've found can be brushed onto a model undiluted. You can use this undiluted too, but it doesn't flow or settle that well for brush work. Vallejo recommends their "Model Air" thinner to alleviate that, but I can't say I'm thrilled to have to add another product/variable into the process; more testing will be required. As for the final finish: none of Vallejo's matte varnishes - including this one - dry to a truly matte finish. It's more between matte and satin with someshine. So no matter which varnish you use, a final coat of their acrylic matte varnish, mixed with matte medium will take the shine out. As a rule, I always wait at least 24 hours between varnish applications.
