I purchased these for my granddaughter (junior in high school) to start school and she loves them! She wears a size 10 and wondered if she should order a size up just to be certain. I told her to read the online posts to see if there were comments regarding size or width, as surely if there was a caveat, there would be repeated posts addressing it. I purchased these online and they just came and I've been wearing them for the past hour and I LOVE them. They are a little stiff at the top where the tongue of the shoe meets your upper foot but I can tell they will soften. I LOVE that they are suede - bringing some class to the classic Vans. I am going to wear these with a black & white graphic tee, a blazer, and some light denim. Maybe I'll add some red earrings for some coordination :) So excited about these, and they were on sale when I bought them - win! Oh and I am an 8 and got an 8 and they fit great!

I love Vans Old School style. I was so glad I got my size 8 in blue color before they sold out!! I already had a black and a tan pair . Love that their is no break in period and so comfortable. Alsways get a pair for myself and daughter so we have our own, since we wear the same size. Want more colors. I missed the burgundy ones darn!! we both wear a narrow medium so getting a size 8 seems to work. I think they run a half size big, but try them on to make sure. They do stretch also for wider feet!!

I love these shoes! This is my second pair of the Old Skool Sneakers! I purchased the True White style in size 7 and it goes with nearly every outfit that I wear. I prefer these to the white Converse! I live in these shoes every day -they are so incredibly comfortable. I'm in my late 20's and don't feel like a teenager whenever I slip these on- they are truly a classic style. I even wear them to work (I work in an office with a casual dress code). My only wish is that they had the Vans logo on the tongue like in the other styles (I own a pair of these in olive green suede). If you're thinking about purchasing these - just do it! You won't regret it!
I love these sneakers. I have wanted a red pair, but it had to be the perfect red. This hit the mark. I love the suede. This is my third pair of Vans. What I like about the Vans is the "Old Skool" look, the toe box has just the right amount of room. They have the slightest bit of support, which for me is perfect. I don't like arch support in my shoes. They are not too cushiony, which I like because shoes that have too much cushion hurt my back. I need firm support in the heel. There is not really any breaking in time because they are already soft all around.
I wasn’t sure about sizing since I previously owned Vans Authentic and had to go a half size down. I wear a women’s 7.5 in almost all my shoes, (ie Converse Chucks) but occasionally I need to go down to a 7, which I did for my Vans Authentic since 7.5 was too loose. I read many reviews for the Old Skool and some said size up, some size down, others true to size. Since it was pretty confusing I decided to just go with what I got before in Vans and got a size 7 women’s. While the 7 does fit, they are a bit tight and uncomfortable. My toes have zero wiggle room, which is a most for me, as I hate my foot feeling cramped. I’ll be returning for a 7.5 since I love the shoes otherwise!
These are really nice and vibrant in color. However, I can never get the right size with sneakers. In sandals, heels, booties I'm a size 9.5 sometimes 10. So I ordered a 9.5 in these after reading the reviews others stated they run small. Nope, Nope and nope. The 9.5 was too big I think a 8.5 would have been my best fit. I could have worn a 9 with socks. This was super cute sneaker but good luck with the sizing. Of course due to me purchasing during the anniversary sale there was no more in stock. So I just returned them.
I ordered two sizes to try and determine what would work, but I ordered the wrong two sizes. I ordered one below my normal size and two below because sizing is men's. First, the size 7 were too tight (I normally wear women's 9) and one of the laces had a part on it that was shredded looking. They were brand new, never used or sent to anyone else so that was odd to see them like that. The size 8 were a smidge too loose. I ordered these thinking they would work because my brown Vans were 8 in mens (but they are from many years ago). I could deal with the smidge too loose if they didn't hurt my heels walking around. They just rub wrong so have to go back. Today I wore them for my first time and immediately I noticed that they were two different shades of white and one shoe looked “dirty”. I unfortunately didn’t notice while I was indoors, but in the sunlight it was so apparent. My family was asking me if I mix matched two different shoes. The rubber was grayish and the canvas was more of yellow tone on the right shoe. I wish I would have taken a photo, but it’s currently soaking in bleach. I hope this works. Definitely not buying shoes from Nordstrom online ever again.
I'm so glad I took a chance and ordered these. I have narrow feet (size 8.5) and most sneakers like this are too wide (like the Superga Cotu - ugh!). For running shoes, and some boots, I typically size up to a 9. I ordered these in my typical shoe size, 8.5 and they work! On my bigger foot, my toe is close to the edge, but it doesn't bother me. They are incredibly comfortable and don't feel or look too wide. I lace up to the top holes which creates a firm fit on the top of my foot. I have them in the black with the white stripe and now I want to get them in more colors. What a great find!
