I bought my first pair of black and white Checkerboard Vans slip ons 10 years ago and have bought many more in different colourways since. Easy to slip on and off and able to be worn with or without socks, they make for a reliable everyday casual sneaker, becoming more and more comfortable with every wear. I'm really grateful that I can still buy vans and the fit hasn't changed. These are the only consistent shoes in my life. I put my shoes through a lot as I work in a production environment, am a parent so am constantly on adventures with the littles, and don't have time or energy to "baby" my shoes. My old vans were always on a skateboard, or walking to and from school, or climbing fences. These new vans may have different adventures, but they still hold up. Gotta love the classics!

Love love love these! Same checkered design and fit as when I was a teen. I listened to the reviews and ended up buying half a size down thinking they were running large, but don't do it! Order your true size, these run narrow and tight on your foot. I think there's another re-issue version that might run bigger but these classic ones do not. I need to exchange these for my true size now to give me more room! For the price, it's still worth the effort to get the right fit.

I bought the checkerboard marshmallow on sale, and they are perfect. I did not read the reviews, which I’m glad because apparently, ppl are sizing down. But I found these ran TTS for me. I’m a true size 5 womens or kids size 3, and very rarely have to size up in any shoe besides in mules sometimes. My foot width is normal to narrow I’d say. These fit great and are comfortable right out the box for me. I don’t own any Vans. But when I saw this neutral color way, I had to get it. So cute and goes with everything. Highly recommend!

I've been wearing Vans for 40 years now, and I rarely wear anything else. I've knocked a star off because the sizing has been a bit hit or miss recently, I've been a UK 10 for 30-odd years and usually don't even need to try them on when I buy in-store, but these shoes are particularly tight, I know they will 'give' a bit with use, but breaking them in is quite uncomfortable. This isn't the only instance I've had, a pair of MTE boots purchased a couple of years ago had to be returned and a larger size ordered due to a very narrow toe box. I'll repeat, I rarely wear anything else, but a bit of consistency in sizing would be appreciated.
I wore these exact shoes in SoCal during the 80's and these feel exactly the same.No. Scratch that. These feel even better. Vans and I are both products of 1966, so we'll always be attached at the hip. Or feet. You know what I meant.Honestly, if you remember wearing these before, get them again. They just got better.
