They're a good high snowboarding boot for park riding. The traditional laces give you adjustable flex in return for a little more hassle putting them on and taking them off compared to boa systems. I love them for park riding because they're comfy as heck. They have a nice cushion under the heel to soften landings.

Do not take the laces or the liner out. It was so difficult to out back in I didn't even end up putting the xcages in. The laces actually required needle nose pliers to get them into the bottom eyelets. Unless you have fingers that are insanely strong and chopstick thin I would not recommend taking the laces out of these. Feel pretty comfortable to ride in although the tongue is by far the stiffest part of the boot. I paired them with Union Forces and they seem quite responsive though I did get some heel lift when torquing. So I tried to put in the xcage thing... Just don't.

Quality Boot, nice materials, arrived undamaged/unblemished. This is a pre ride review. Slightly stiffer than I expected, tight across the top of my foot. Size 12 basically fits as expected. Still a soft enough set up it should stretch out in a day or two of riding. The whole liner feel like the vans ultra Cush set up. Very soft and impact absorbing. Holds the heel down nice and firm if your into that kind of thing. I think it will be a great boot for all mountain riding and all the hucks you can throw at it.

SO SICK! I got these in black and fit exact size to foot (use MONDO sizing for best accuracy). They are built to last, nice and stiff, but comfortable, warm and dry out of the box. I'm now a core Vans fan!
Mark says he doesn't like the strap design because it he couldn't get it tight enough. It seems I can tighten past leg pain with the strap alone, and still utilize the whole strip of velcro. I've ridden several boots. All of them have caused foot pain except for these. They stay tight all day. They are pretty soft and flexy, but I wouldn't say this is a bad thing. They offer alot for the beginner/intermediate. They keep you reliably comfortable which is what's most important in my opinion.
Haven’t gotten to ride with these, but out of the box the feel like they would have good heel hold, and overall very comfortable could wear around the house for 30 minutes without issue. My old boots had to get tweaked cause the would make my foot fall asleep out of the box within minutes. My running shoe size is 10.5 (Sauconey/Brooks) and I got 9.5 which fit perfect with just the right amount of space between toes and end of boot.
I legit purchased 6 pair of Vans snowboard boots until landing on the Hi-Standard Pro. All of the other ones had instep issues, heel slip, hot spots, etc. I finally tried this boot and I about shed a tear when I slipped my foot in. This boot had all of the perks of the OG, with the added value of heel hold and superior quality insert. Can't wait to rip the mountain in these puppies. Also, EVO customer service is pretty awesome. Sure, it sucks to pay for return shipping, but knowing you can take your time to get it right (with their generous year return policy) is worth the handful of bucks they charge.Their staff is incredibly nice. Can't go wrong.
So far so good (second season on them). Fit well, comfy, hold heels down just right (I don't use the extra inserts), or the power strap). Feet never get cold or wet. Wish they were softer though (favorite boots EVER were circa 1995 Burton Freestyle boots with the neoprene liner - I wish they still made them). Got these after not loving my previous DC Park boots. I like the fit of these better (the Park boots were a little more Flexi but always had a bad pressure point on top of foot, and weren't that comfortable).
I was looking for a laced snowboard boot, mainly because of its simplicity and reliability - no more sophisticated speed-lacing systems that have failed me twice before. The simple and beautiful design of the Vans boot caught my attention, and after trying size 46 (I have sneaker size 45), they seemed to fit my feet very nicely.I took these boots for a week of snowboarding in the Alps, and I fell in love with them. Although the Vans High Standards are officially recommended for the riding style "Freestyle", I've used them in various conditions: carving, freestyle and off-piste freeriding. The boots are very flexible, which means they won't offer a ton of support while carving at high speeds. However, in my opinion they gave me just enough support, because I have a ... However, in my opinion they gave me just enough support, because I have a casual & relaxed riding style. They are very forgiving; I've had zero instances of cramps or annoying pressure points. In conclusion, these are very comfortable boots for a reasonable price. I would especially recommend these for beginner and intermediate riders who just want a reliable pair of boots to ride down the mountains comfortably. And, last but not least: they look very cool :)
The vans hi standard pro boots did not meet my expectations of a pro boot. Vans selling point is their looks and they are very comfortable almost to a fault. The boots hold your foot well I guess but above the ankle is almost no support. Extremely surfy feeling boots, maybe good for a skater if your into that. Only having 2 lace hooks above the ankle is horrid, the powercuff strap could not tighten the boot enough to get any support from that. The powercuff strap was different lengths on each boot so far off when tightened the velcro totally missed the other side of velcro making the strap useless. Vans sacrificed performance big time on this boot but at least they are comfy. I have 10+ years of park crew experience and would recommend the 32 tm2!
