The jacket is soft and feels great to the touch. Although my previous Northface jacket is a size small, I could see that this one had a close-fitting structure, so I chose Medium. I'm glad I did because the lower part of the jacket fits pretty snugly around the hips. It does have little toggle type elastics you can let out, and I did that, even with going a size up. The top of the jacket is extremely comfortable and fits nicely but I would not get another layer under it- it's very form fitting. It just isn't designed to be the outer layer with something underneath.It looks fantastic just by itself.The color is darker than it looks online- not as greenish but more gray. I was so excited to get my Osito 2 Jacket, and it has lived up to all the expectations I had for it! I love the two tone, black with pink accents! I am not a pink person usually, but this jacket is super cute! I have gotten TONS of compliments on it. It is so soft and warm. I live in a snowy winter state and have been wearing it daily as my jacket of choice since I received it in the mail. ,,,,Since I choose black, it goes with everything and I can even pull off wearing it with dress clothes for work or a social event. I bought myself this jacket because it's a nice weight for in between seasons. I have a heavier one my boyfriend bought me that is good for fall/winter and need one for winter/spring. Yesterday it was 55-65 degrees and this was just perfect. I really want to get a purple or gray one but ended up getting the black because it goes with more things. It's warm enough for chilly nights without being too hot. I was in between sizes small and medium, and decided to go with the medium since I wanted to layer it without being too tight. It was the perfect fit; not to loose, like I was worried it might be. It's also got a more tapered fit and hugs my body a bit instead of the standard "boxy" shape I get from most fleece type jackets. I love the color as well. I chose the new taupe green since that's the color of my winter coat. I bought this about a month ago and so happy I did. It is Northface so of course the quality is amazing as well as a very comfortable fit. It is is perfect for light winds in the Pacific Northwest. Plus it has pockets in the right places for the essentials of phone, glasses & keys. Besides wind protection it also keeps me warm on cool days. It is not a winter jacket but comfortable over a long sleeved shirt. I wear this jacket much more than I anticipated and, well, as I said I am very happy with this jacket.
I LOVE my new jacket! It is lightweight but heavey enough for almost any winter weather above 30 degrees. On really cold days, it's great for wearing indoors as a sweater. The color is beautiful and I always recieve compliments when I wear it. My only complaints are that some of the softness is lost and the fibers tend to loosen once you wash it - even if you air dry. And DO NOT put it in the dryer. The other complaint is that there are no petite sizes but it still works fine because of the style. It would just be a more flattering fit if the cut was a petite. (Moosejaw was also the best price anywhere on this jacket.)
MooseJaw delivered on the day and time it was expected! Thank you! I love the slim look, not at all boxy like the old osito. The high thick collar is great, no need for a scarf. Arm length on this new osito is precise. The old osito arm length was always too short. I ordered the purdy pink and it's so cute! I never knew TNF had this shade of light pink. I've only worn it around the house. So soft and snuggle. However, be careful with washing this, I learned from my last it needs to washed on delicate setting and lowest dry temp for 5 minutes is max I do. No issues with the fur matting! I don't use fabric softener so don't know how that works on this. No chance to wear during this summer but I will be ready when cool weather comes :)
I bought one of these a few years ago and lost it(I thought). I was so heartbroken and just had to replace it. There were so many yummy colors that I bought three more: grey, honeysuckle pink, and harbor blue. Two of them will go to New Zealand with me for a trip. If I could get the petti-coat pink on sale, I would buy that one too. As My lost one was found, I would have a total of five. I am addicted to these stylish, comfortable, warm jackets. You cannot have enough of them. Customer service at Moosejaw is fabulous. When I exchanged a white one, they made the transaction a snap. I love you, Moosejaw. I got one of these for Xmas after wanting one very badly. Then my daughter saw it and had to have one for her bday. We both LOVE them. Beautiful and stylish enough for work or school but warm and functional enough for hiking!I'm 5'7 150 and got a XL because I wanted a loose fit but L actually looks better . My daughter is 5'5 130 and M is great for her. We could not be happier - I wish I could afford a few more in different colors. Speaking of which, mine is black, hers is garnet purple which is really gorgeous in person. I had ordered her a L by accident but it's so pretty I think I'll keep it for myself. She got her replacement M the other day and we both get lots of compliments.
This fluffy, snuggly jacket should come with a warning: If you don't want people petting you, don't wear it out in crowds. It's so SOFT, it puts velvet to shame. This is not technical gear, no thru-hikers garment; but it is nice for cool-weather day hiking or car camping. It's even better for casual wear just about anywhere temperatures warrant it. The shape is nice Goldilocks approved: you know, just right. The cuffs of the sleeves are not binding and the neck zips high and warm without discomfort. Looks good, feels good, launders like a charm. Love this jacket.
