Yea they look beautiful but a hole developed out of no where on the top front suede bit, above the joint of the smallest and small toes. I've had the shoes 6 weeks! The shoes were worn a total of 4 times (due to the grim U.K. weather, they were being mostly saved for dryer weather!) uses were - drive to and walk around some shops, get on a plane. Somehow this hole has developed with NO strain whatsoever on the shoes with light use. This is terrible for the price and I'm now looking for claiming against the warranty as it's gone past the 30 day period.

I bought these directly after buying some old skool skate shoes. The new old skool shoes are great, not narrow, and the soles are removable. I figured the shape of these would be similar at least, but they are in fact far more narrow. The soles on these are not review removable. The toe box is plush, but the heels are stiff. The toe box itself, is the most uncomfortable part of the shoe because of how narrow it is. Buy the old skool skate shoe itself.

I bought these for work as we must wear all black and these don't have the red label at the back. I love my other vans but they are a little big and need insoles so I ordered a smaller size. They are comfortable and look good but the back of the shoe digs into the back of my foot/leg where the material is joined so it is quite hard. Hopefully they just need wearing in a little more then they'll be perfect! I love that there is an elasticated join between the sole and the tongue to stop it twisting round - great idea!

I wear these shoes to work and they are quite comfortable at the start of the shift, working 8 hours straight they do start to feel a bit tight and rub a little on the outsides, although I do have quite wide feet so that may just be down to that. If you work in any sort of food industry I would recommend getting a shoe that isn't suede as it is a lot harder to have them look clean.I got a size 6.5 which fits well with normal thickness socks all though for similar brands like converse I usually wear a 7
Tried on the shoes in store before ordering online and the fit is DRASTICALLY different. I ordered 8.5 which is what I tried on in store (and was perfect) and found that the delivered 8.5s were horrible in comparison. I could barely fit my toes in at all. They literally fit worse than my partners size 7's.Quality otherwise was fine , but never had such a massive difference in fit, and such uncomfortable shoes. Feels like there must be a severe lack of QC or something very wrong.
I bought a pair of these little beauties last summer and have literally worn the heck out of them. They're my beach shoe (regularly getting wet and salty) my casual shoe but most of all my work shoe. I'm a classic car restorer who throws caution to the wind and wears these instead of safety boots. They get treated like junk, dragged around a filthy floor under rusty old Volkswagens and frequently spattered with grinding and weld sparks. But they are still 100% intact and as as comfy, if not comfier than the day I bought them. A year might but be much to expect of a normal shoe, but for these to have survived a year in my world and keep looking and feeling good is so dang impressive and are a credit to the Vans name. I had the original old skool vans for 5 years and loved them. I spent hours on my feet at work and the only reason I needed to replace was because how battered they looked/support had gone. I was very excited to try the comfycush version.Well... I ordered two sizes, one the same as the last pair and one 1/2 a size up. I kept the 1/2 size up as they felt hard at the back and stiff. This obviously may be because of comparing them to the lack of support in my old pair or a redesign. Everything seemed the same EXCEPT they are maybe 1cm higher and the lining in the heel has changed. The previous version had a leather heel protector, this one has material. Two weeks in and I have a cut on each heel from the rubbing. Hoping as they wear in this will go away. As for the ... MoreI had the original old skool vans for 5 years and loved them. Two weeks in and I have a cut on each heel from the rubbing. Hoping as they wear in this will go away. As for the comfycush aspect I'm not sure. It isn't an immediate ahhh cloud feeling like I imagined. They feel comfier and more supportive but again I'm used to very worn in vans. Of course I love the look, that's why I repurchased them and will continue wearing them. I just hope going half a size up to avoid the rigidness doesn't come back to bite me in the bum and they end up too big as they've worn in.
I bought a pair of the black ones after wearing my black and white ones to death (they are so comfy), yet the black versions rip the back of my heels to shreds due to the material being so rough. I thought they'd soften up after some wear, but they haven't and I have to wear them sparingly to let my heels heal. They even hurt with socks on. Pretty disappointed to be fair.
Waited a full calendar week before receiving entirely the wrong shoes. Like completely wrong. What I got were furry (seriously), grey shoes with a zip and velcro fastening. They were even the wrong size. The Vans 'contact us' email form did (does?) not work, WebChat took WAY too long, so I had to report the issue via phone which turned out to be a reasonable experience. A really nice guy called Tiago informed me that Vans don't do swaps or replacements. You have to return the item and start again from scratch. I was assured that the refund will be automatic, once they get the item back.Tiago emailed a returns form which I had to print out myself.I did everything as instructed, and handed the package over to their courier collection point on 18th December. Today (4th Jan) I have had to chase the refund which turns out to be not quite so 'automatic' as I was led to believe.I wanted these for Christmas, so I had no choice but to get them from somewhere else with a better delivery ETA.Ordered on 17th, I received the Comfycush Old Skool Shoes, right colour, right size - everything - on 20th. 3 days.It ain't rocket science, is it?I feel sorry to leave a 1 star review, because the shoes are excellent. I love them.(They do come up small, though, presumably because of the comfycush bit.)But I can't give anything more than that, considering the overall experience. It was a bit of a shocker, tbh. Maybe Vans should just stick to making them and not supplying them.
The Vans products thenselves are awesome and I have never had beef with this particular style. The Vans I ordered from Backcountry were less than good conditions as the soles were literally falling off the shoes. I superglued them on and received a partial refund, but this lack of quality assurance puts me off of ordering from backcountry for anything.
