Classic old school with better features.

Hey I'm Jay and I've been skating Vans for a few years now. I generally go through shoes quite quick with casual skating. I like the fit of Vans and the features that come in the skate series. These shoes fit a little wide when compared to Nikes or NBnumerics but still are a classic. Overall the look and feel great.I used these shoes for skating here in the Netherlands and I'm generally pretty happy. I usually skate on the Kyle Walker pros and had a previous bad experience with some old schools due to their durability, but these new old school skate versions how met all my expectations. The only cons i can see are that they're a little wide so people with narrower feet might not be so comfortable in them. Other than that, they're a solid skate shoe and it is definitely worth it to go for the added perks of the skate series than just the classic series.Great shoes to skate in, durable and comfy. Maybe they're a little wide so watch out if you have really narrow feet.

Classic, Stylish and functional.

Skateboarder for over 12 years mostly skate the bowls and the vert ramps, but never dirty to ride anything else skating is skating ! The classic old skool vans shoe is a style icon, but also such a comfy shoe while you're riding.Classic Old skool is a super nice an comfy shoe to shred in. Only thing that is not really durable of this shoe is that the insole isn't super powerful, so that means i personally would't reckon the skate big set of stairs with it. Outside of that the stitching is staying whole for a long time and the top of your toe doesn't rip as fast as the normal old skools.Great shoe overall ! Especially if you have a little wider feet than general. stylish and iconic can't go wrong with that !

These used to be such a solid shoe. Over the last few years I’ve noticed they changed the laces (I swear the old ones were waxed), the soles wear out exceptionally fast, and they always open up in the toe box due to poor quality adhesive. I used to get about two years out of a pair but now I’m lucky to get 8 months. Additionally, yes they’re an iconic shoe, however, they aren’t made to last. In conclusion, they have risen steeply in price and fallen in quality.

First "Skate" model after owning tons of other vans
16 May 2024

This is my first "skate" van model I have owned, and man, I can safely say I have been missing out! These are so absurdly comfortable that I am already looking into getting another one or two pairs, lol! The "popcush" insert is mad comfy, its also removable so if you have another orthopedic insert you like to use then you dont have to deal with ripping/cutting the existing insert out just to use something else like you do with normal vans. The build quality is also really good! I've owned a lot of other vans in the past, but these ones are clearly built a bit better for their higher price tag. I definitely recommend everyone try out a pair for themselves sometime because these are 100x times more comfortable than normal vans.

Great For Skating!
28 December 2022

I got these shoes for Christmas and ever since I’ve been constantly skating with them. They look so good in terms of appearance alone but there even better for skating which is saying something. I have been able to progress and land so many new tricks since getting these shoes and even when you are just riding around on your board they have a great feel on the skateboard. They also don’t give you blisters like many other skate shoes and are really well and nicely made. The different components blend really well together with the canvas and the leather vans symbol along with the softer upper near your feat so you don’t end up with holes in the top of your shoes. And the different colours go so well together. I also found them a good fit and even for me who has a wide ... MoreI got these shoes for Christmas and ever since I’ve been constantly skating with them. Look the business. See review for handy tip.
2 November 2022

Totally awesome. They look the business. Come with fat, 1cm wide white laces plus a spare pare of conventional size, 0.8cm black laces so you can chop and change. Beware, come with comfy cush style inners which reduced the room for your feet across the top and toes. Tip: if you have this problem, take out the inner, sole which is removable, slice with abread knife at an angle about half way down so there's a gradual taper and glue in. Then you get that heel support but still get room for your feet.

Looooooooooooooooooooooooooong Lasting!!!!!!!!
17 January 2024

I have worn Vans for 40 years. I have skated in them since I was 5. They have always been my go to. This new Skate shoe!! heck yeah. Skeptical at first. Yep! don't change good things. But!!! I bought a pair the day before a 12 day trip to Europe. It was the only pair of shoes I had for the whole trip. We walked over 150 miles during the trip. Soooooo comfortable. no fatigue like my other Vans. I have put over 600 walking miles on these at least and had them for a year and a half. the soles are almost new looking. I dont skate hard in these since they are my "nice" pair but do still on occasion. They are holding up amazing. I highly recommend. Board feel. yeah it is not like a nicely worn in pair of Old Skool's but hey they are comfy and when you walk a lot like I do ... MoreI have worn Vans for 40 years. Will be buying many more even though I can wear these out!

My review
24 September 2024

I was looking for another style that Van no longer has and saw these - the right color. I actually think these are better fit. They're beautiful. I haven't worn them too much so I'm assuming I'm still breaking them in. They feel stiff - for now. With time they'll soften. it's the perfect size. I also have another pair so it wasn't difficult to pick the size. these have more padding which I like and more structure which is probably why they feel stiffer.

Robust everyday shoe
10 August 2024

A comfy, stylish, reasonably robust skate shoe. They're great for everyday use, not just skating. My first pair lasted about 1 1/2 years of almost-everyday use before the canvas started splitting from the rubber at the widest point. However, with a bit of reinforcing canvas and some shoe glue they were good to go again (I would recommend doing this when you first buy them). After 2 years the original pair is still functional and comfortable, although the age is starting to show. I liked them enough to get a second pair, so there you go.

Bring the pro line back. These shoes are absolutely terrible! I've replaced my black pros with the gum sole just the same for so many years and this year I'm so disappointed to see what's available. I've even checked other stores to avoid buying this shoe hoping by some chance they have the pros left. I'm just shocked vans would even put out something that's this terrible in quality. I picked up the closest comparison in store to see if maybe I could go with this shoe and in 2 seconds I see a big chunk of exposed glue from the sole to the inside of the shoe. The eyelets are exposed and not stitched close properly. And the gum sole is not the same, yo! This gum sole looks green/brown. It's like some sort of weird sickly color. These are awful!
