The Sk8-Hi was introduced in 1978 as Style 38, and showcased the now-iconic Vans Sidestripe on a new, innovative high top silhouette. As only the second model featuring the recognizable marker formerly known as the “jazz stripe,” the Sk8-Hi brought a whole new look to the Vans family. Honoring that first legendary high top, the Sk8-Hi is made with sturdy suede and canvas uppers in a variety of classic and unexpected colorways. This lace-up shoe also includes re-enforced toe caps, supportive padded collars, and signature rubber waffle outsoles.

I love the high ankle support and the size (my feet are size 13) is fine. However the width is not brilliant and to take these shoes off or to put them on seems to take about five minutes as you have to laboriously loosen all the laces in all the eyelets before they can be taken off. This has become such a nuisance that I doubt that I would ever buy another pair like this again.

I ordered SK8 Hi Flame shoes for my son. We used the size scale and the shoes fit perfectly. The shoes are of great quality and look as pictured.

I have ordered vans from asos on three different occasions and it was never a disappointment. They are comfy and true to size and you can catch nice deals here

you really can't go wrong with these shoes. I've been wearing mine for over a year now and I love the way it's worn down. It only gets better with time :)They get more comfortable the more you wear them, they mould to your feet really nicely. They're also great skateboarding shoes because you get really nice ankle support.Beware, it can be a hassle to put on though, and I've tried a bunch of different lacing techniques...
The flame cutout design on the side of the sole of the shoe is separated from the sole and coming off right out of the box. I ended up having to return the shoes for a refund.
Really disappointed with these shoes, loved them initially but fell apart with less then 4 months wear. Sole of shoe came completely unglued, went into store to see if anything could be done and they claimed it was water damage, refusing a exchange.Pretty sure shoes should be able to cope with British weather and not fall apart after so little time. Wouldn't buy again, especially at the price.
I have owned at least 6 pairs of Sk8-mtes, they are my favourites, I bought the same size BUT this pair have been rubbing my little toes raw since I brought them. Never had this problem before. Recommend Sizing up as for some reason they are more narrow than the normal ones. Thought they might wear in but 6 weeks later and no luck. The colour is nice but I'm going to have to give them to a friend because they are unwearable for me. Not happy.
These apparently run big, I got the normal size my wife wear size 8, able they're about an inch too big, now I'm trying to find the same color scheme locally because I got them discounted with the 30% and I won't get that again. Very upset.
I do like the design and I think they're very well built shoe however I'm not a fan of the white stitching across the front. I've had a previous pair of vans skate high that were different in design which I've been trying to buy a replacement pair for. The problem I've got with all of the new vans skate ties are that the sides around the ankle aren't thick enough to support your foot when you're sliding into the shoe, that there's no hoop on the back of the ankle but you can pull to offer resistance whilst you're putting your foot in the shoe. But the dealbreaker for me was the fact that It's the most difficult pair of shoes I've ever had to take off and put on.They take far too long to loosen all the laces to make it necessary enough to get your foot in two. The other criticism I've got is that I am a size 9 1/2 I already own a pair of vans size 9 1/2 and out of the three pairs of vans that I bought to try all of them felt like I was wearing 10 1/2 size shoes therefore I had to return all three pairs
these are the first pair of vans I've bought since high school and I have zero regrets. I saw them in store and couldn't afford them at the time but looked online when I could and they were on sale which was even better! so glad I purchased them.
