Great skate & work shoes. Decent grip. Soft sole but durable. Been wearing this model 3 times over now. They called them "Waffel cups" when I first started. Great shoes. Favorite design.

My second identical pair - love the extra cushion inner soles. have walked over 2 million steps in the since beginning of 2023 and I would say at least 80% were in these little beauties. They are still great, just a little tired looking so I bought another pair to walk another 2 million steps in comfort!

Have been wearing Vans shoes for almost 15 years now and these were hands down the worst pain I have ever had. The right shoe was not made properly and the inside of the shoe was not sewed properly and caused discomfort on my right foot. Very disappointed and would appreciate if something was done
Been a very long time since I've skated Vans, had to try these out considering their 'extra tough' strapline and all I can say is 'WOW'. I've skated these for hours, likely a fair thousand flip tricks and many many ollies and the rubber white toe cap is still completely intact, fairly thinner now but still haven't warn through and there's no noticeable spot wear on the suede. Without question the most durable shoe I've skated in years, genuinely mean that. There's still so much life left in them. Only had to replace the laces once also. The only issue for me is (there are other options of course) that I dig this style so much without the little cushions around the top of the skate shoe that I can't use these to heelflip. I tear my sock/cut my foot, that's the only ... MoreBeen a very long time since I've skated Vans, had to try these out considering their 'extra tough' strapline and all I can say is 'WOW'. The only issue for me is (there are other options of course) that I dig this style so much without the little cushions around the top of the skate shoe that I can't use these to heelflip. I tear my sock/cut my foot, that's the only trick though that I have an issue with regarding this shoe. Varial heelflip and all sorts are fine but a standard heelflip is off the cards when I wear these. Once again, this could be solved easily if I just choose the slightly taller style with the cushion. Had no issue regarding impact, great support and cushioning. You get so much bang for your buck out of these new 'extra tough' models, you'll honestly be as impressed as I am if you skate just to see how long these things last.
I'm completely obsessed with the pop cushion insole! The regular Authentic shoes weren't doing it for me anymore so I decided to give the Comfy Cush Authentics a try and just no, the shoe ran narrow and pointy at the toe box. I returned the comfy Cush and went for the Skate Authentic and I'm so happy I did. The shoe itself looks more durable and there's so much support, plus, the toe box isn't pointy. I'm on my feet all day so these are a big hit.
I'm normally a size 10 for the Authentic shoe, and bought a size 10 in Skate Aucthentic — thinking the size would be comparable. The difference seems to be that to make the shoe last longer the fit is different. I'm hoping I can wear this in over time, but it's tough going so far (though to be fair I've only given it a go over three days so far). The shoe still looks good and appears as though it may last longer based on the quality of the build/design I can see and feel.
I loved my Vans Eras, but had to switch styles because of foot problems. I love the extra support of these shoes and the best part is I can pull the inserts out to put in my own. I really wish that 1) Vans made more styles with removable inserts, and 2) these were available in more color choices. I've worn these shoes almost daily for a couple of years, including a new pair right before a vacation with a ton of walking, and never had a problem with breaking them in.
I love the regular authentics and have bought many but they wear out very quickly so i thought i would try these. They look great but unfortunately i guess the extra cushion lets your heel sink down and causes constant rubbing on back of ankle so i always get blisters/bleed when i try to wear them. I was hoping i could break them in but it didn't get better. Not really a problem if you only skate in them but you just cant really walk anywhere in them....
Bought these as comfy cush was discontinued, these are not better.Get a half size up, the heel of the shoe bends inwards so it destroyed my foot and pretty tight on the top of my foot. too late to return I guess
