I remember when my brother had the black/white checkered slip on’s when I saw these. I fell in love with the lilac and white ones, still the old style but in a great color for spring. I’m a true size 7 and I put these on & they were comfortable right out of the box. No need to break in which I had to do with my Converse special edition Play Comme des garçons.The Vans are the perfect easy and comfy shoes to wear through Summer.I highly recommend them. If not for nostalgia, then get them for the style & comfort,

I have narrow feet, so the narrowness of this fit doesn't bother me so much. I'm typically a 37, and the 6.5 and 7 both fit me fine. I decided to purchase these along with the plain black ones since these are closed toe, and I can wear these to work. They are perfectly comfortable and don't require breaking-in. I can wear these while I drive too, which is an added plus. They go well with just about anything ranging from trousers, sweatpants, joggers, to jeans even. I highly recommend these if you don't own a pair already. I love the other styles that Vans has, but I'm always a sucker for anything I can just "slip on" and go.

Oh my gosh! Super, super cute and the red - what else is there to say?! :) I bought the all leather ones a few months ago at N Rack and got them in a 9.5 because there wasn’t a 9 available to compare. I haven’t really worn them much because they feel a tad loose/big on my foot. I was able to try these on in the Van’s store and the 9 fit perfectly! They are comfortable and will go with jeans, shorts or a sundress with a denim jacket. I love the wide white sole too! Highly recommend! These will replace my chucks for sure! Keep in mind they run slightly large.

Love these! Such a throwback but this is my first time buying them. They’re comfortable and I love the cream leather on the slide. Women size half size down! The 7.5 fit perfectly and I’m normally an 8. So cute!!!!!
This is an honest review of the Vans Checkerboard Slip-On Pro version. You can't go wrong with the classic slip-on design and Spicoli look. These shoes are meant to be skated so click that tail around rockin' these. They are made of canvas so they will wear out faster than suede versions but the added thin rubber underlays being that this is the Pro version will some longevity to the use and abuse of the shoe. After reading Nordstrom description and reviews on the shoe, that it runs big for women's, I was surprised that my size 7.5 is the right size to get. It is very comfortable and looks really nice with all my casual clothes. Since I have a hard time finding shoes to fit my width, I got two pairs!
These are my second pair of Vans and I couldn't be more happy with this purchase. I have the white/black checkered version and although I wasn't all that thrilled that the white is more of a egret color, it photographs white and not noticeable from afar. You definitely need to buy thin no show socks. They run true to size, so only size up if you like wearing thick high socks with your vans. I never needed to break them in even though I do have quite wide feet and they do not rub or give me blisters. I have worn these for an 8 hour shift where I'm on my feet all day and they were still so comfortable after taking them off. So happy with this purchase. Definitely a brand I can stand behind even though I'm not exactly their target market!
When I went to the store to purchase these checkered vans for my birthday the lady who worked at nordstom was so helpful she knew exactly what she was doing and was patient as I still hadn't decided if I wanted the checkered ones or the plain white ones. She also helped me find the perfect size. The shoes are also great. Great quality! I have had mine for quite a while now and they are still in great condition. I love them! What was also great is that usually when I get my vans from the vans store I don't get fit properly and they end up stretching out overtime and no longer fit correctly. It has been almost 6 months since I bought these and they still fit perfectly. I regret not catching the employee who helped me name. Got these to specifically wear on a plane and walking around for a city vacation. This was my first pair of vans, and the Nordstrom description said to order one size down for women so I first ordered the 8...The 8 ended up being too small, but I found that my normal size 8.5 was perfect, if not just a tad bit narrow. I'm expecting that once they're broken in, though, they'll fit like a glove. The Nordstrom associates were wonderful in helping me exchange the sizes, and the shoes are overall very comfortable and stylish.
Cute but definitely does not run big for women. They are TTS. I made the mistake to go with Nordstrom’s website advice and ordered half size smaller than my regular woman’s size. I now have to return the sz 5 women/3.5 men and reordered my normal size 5.5 women/4 men. Obviously I like them enough to repurchase! Classic vans. And BTW, FYI yes they are black and cream not black and white as advertised.
