Buying boots online felt like a gamble, especially with no reviews of these specific boots, and I was pleasantly surprised. They might not fit as well as if I'd been able to go into a store to try them on. Such is pandemic life! They fit well enough. I tried them out for a quick 30 minute walk the first two times I went out. On the third walk I was out for 4 hours and while I had a sore spot, there were no blisters.I chose these because the Vans website boasted about their excellent traction. It's legit. I went from slipping around to being able to walk on ice and snow confidently. I bought ice cleats at the same time I got these and haven't bothered to use them because the boots have been enough for walking around the ravines and Rouge Park.I'd been wearing ... MoreBuying boots online felt like a gamble, especially with no reviews of these specific boots, and I was pleasantly surprised. Ha. The insulation on these is such a major upgrade.I wish these boots were a lighter and more flexible, but that's the issue I have with most winter boots. Hopefully they'll get a little less stiff over time. I'm guessing that's the trade-off of having them stay waterproof, so it's a compromise I'm prepared to make.

Very comfortable, Keeps your feet warm and dry..Looks amazing, You can wear them with anything You want. You might consider order a Bigger size, They runs small, Especially if you got your warm and thick socks on you. I am a size 10.5 in VANS , but I ordered this one in size 11.5 because my size was too small, and I had to return them and order it again in a bigger size..Now my feet are really really comfortable!!I will definitely order it again!

I really like the look of this boot and overall, it's comfortable to wear. I bought mainly for wearing on my commutes for snowy/rainy weather and so far, they have been good and relatively warm on the feet for the colder weather. The only con is the sizing, I luckily read the reviews that they ran small and ordered accordingly. I recommend going at least a half size up from normal size if not a full size up if you plan on wearing thicker socks inside the boot. I have a lot of pairs of vans (25+ in various styles) and it's unfortunate that I can't trust the sizing in their shoes anymore.

Runs a size too small/maybe too narrow
21 December 2023

I dont typically run into the problem where I have to order a size or half size larger in a shoe. I don't think I have a single size 9 shoe in my closet. I have multiple pairs of vans classic slip ons and they are all 8/8.5 and fit fine. My toes were jammed right up to the end in these as well as crushed in on the sides. Not sure if I want to bother trying to order another side unless I try them on elsewhere. Then I would purchase them through Backcountry because they have such a great return policy that makes these problems a little less painful.

Solid Option for Casual Snow Boots
20 March 2024

Bought these for a trip to Banff and they did not disappoint. Warm in negative temps, great grip, and comfortable walking through a lot of ice and fresh powder. Felt fine while jogging along a dog sled too.As stated by other reviews, order up a size. I'm a 10.5-11 and ordered a 12. They fit great.

The rubber is garbage.
16 February 2024

I got these as a present for christmas. I live in the mountains of Colorado and wear these everyday. With new insoles these shoes are amazing look good and feel great.Problem: In less than a month they started leaking and ruined my cork insoles. The cracks started early and have just got bigger and bigger. Still wear them as long as it is not snowing. Calling these a mid snow is deceptive unless you wear them a couple times a year maybe. I have been wearing vans for 35 years and would never buy these. VANS FIX THE RUBBER IT IS CLEARLY A PROBLEM!!!!

Trying a second pair!
4 February 2022

Bought these bad boys in November. Once I broke them in, they quickly became my everyday shoe. I live in a wet & cold, sometimes snowy beach town in the Northeast and needed a winter boot that was lightweight and cute enough to wear everyday without killing my knees. LL Bean boots were the only things that kept my feet warm but dang are they heavy and cumbersome. These MTEs are it! Toasty feet, cute kicks, comfortable for every day/all day wear.Until late January when we got some real snow and I noticed that there seemed to be a leak. Prior to this snowstorm, I've only worn these shoes in light rain and cold days. With actual snow on the ground, there seemed to be a leak from one of the seams, as the insoles were completely soaked after a few hours outside. I ... MoreBought these bad boys in November. I thought maybe snow was creeping in via ankles or something, but everywhere in my boot was dry except the bottoms of my feet and insoles.Hoping this is a one-off issue and not a recurring one - customer service hooked me up and I'm trying a second pair. All in all, I'd recommend these. People complain about the stiffness in the ankles, I don't see it as much of an issue. It is a snowboot, after all. It's not going to be as flexible as a normal shoe. I'm between a 7 and 7.5 in Women's... got the 7.5 to make room for thick socks.

go to winter everyday
10 December 2023

I live in New Hampshire, and this is my everyday shoe for half the year. Waterproof, light, comfy, great traction, not sweaty, and kind of cool looking- feels like a sneaker, works like a boot. I have half size up from my normal, and they fit perfect. After 2 years, the lining in the heel area has split on one shoe, making them difficult to get on- as well as the rubber starting to crack up front. Seems totally fair given how much I wear them. Hoping for a new pair for xmas!

warm but over-walking in them can cause bruising
25 February 2023

Initially had to exchange the size for a half size larger because these don't fit true to size. When I finally got to wear them, I found them to be quite warm (especially where I live, it can go down to -20 something degrees Celsius). However, over a month into having them, I did my usual walk of a few kilometres to and from a destination (so 6-8km's in total). I went to walk the same amount the following day and 20 minutes into the walk, I started to suddenly develop a bruising pain along the side of my right boot even though I ensured that the boot and my socks were on properly. The picture I included is how it looked later on in the day after I removed my socks.
