The Ultrarange EXO HI MTE-1 Shoe proves that not all winter footwear has to be big and clunky. These low-profile sneakers balance comfort and coverage to keep our feet comfortable throughout the day. Absolutely love them!

I absolutely love these, they look great and feel even better. They were a bit snug the first few days due to the thick insulation inside, but soon settled nicely. They feel true to size (I wear a womens 6 in most of my shoes and these are perfect. Very comfortable. I have tried them in most conditions (off-road, hiking, mud, puddles, snow, ice, etc) and they are warm and kept my feet dry in all conditions. Just a note, the traction is great except on pure ice, we went on a hike where some of the trails were covered in thick ice and only my daughter's Docs had some grip, everyone else had trouble with their shoes no matter the brand. These shoes are fantastic. I needed something for wearing with jeans that has solid traction for work (I'm in roofing) as well as in the rain and in slick conditions. The MTE-1 outsole is aggressive without becoming a trip hazard, and they are warm without roasting your feet. As far as eye candy, they're incredibly good looking and can be worn with most outfits and don't look out of place.Regarding the feel of them, they're very secure and tightness is easily adjusted with the laces. They don't bind in any area along the laces, and the higher top keeps them under your pant legs. The all-black with the gum colored sole makes these very versatile, and I'm now looking at a low top one for wear with shorts.Highly recommend!!

I bought these for my 11 y.o son. He wears a men size 6.5. I bought size 7 because these run a bit snugged. He wears all his sneakers out. Since I always buy these type of vans for his dad. I thought let us try for our son. He loves then. They are comfortable and durable. I love the outersole. It is strong and supportive with it's ridges. He wears them in the rain and snow. His feet remains warm and dry. Also, love buying from this store. They ship quickly and customer service is great.

Favorite shoes right now
15 December 2021

I normally wear various boots and your usual athletic shoes during the warmer seasons. When I saw these I liked the look as a more casual replacement for boots and they are real comfortable and real warm right now without feeling like my feet are sweaty at the end of the day. It's hard not to wear them all the time. I ordered a half size up from my usual sneaker size, same as I would with Nike's, full size up from boots. Slight squeeze to get them on because of the lacing but perfectly comfortable for a full day. Had them in the rain today and I wasn't about to step straight into a puddle but definitely didn't feel any wetness get in.Been a long time since I last had Vans but I hope they keep making more like these.

Great shoe and experience!!!
7 November 2022

I originally bought the wrong size. They were too tight. I purchased the correct size, had those shipped quickly, and had my original purchase amount returned to me within a timely manner. Very satisfied with the entire purchase process. The shoes overall are very stylish and very comfortable. These are my first pair of Van's and I look forward to buying more in different colors. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Great shoes
25 February 2024

These are really good shoes. I was looking for the black Ultrarange Exo MTE-1's but they were sold out in my size so I got these instead. After a week of wearing them I ordered another pair to keep in storage in case these get discontinued like the aforementioned pair.Shout out to Sun & Ski for having these!

Made for walking, but not quite..
26 September 2023

I love the look of these, and I also love the idea of them, but the reality however, not so much. I used the fact I was going on Holiday to Japan (which is notorious for walking) to buy a pair as I loved the look and idea, and I do love Vans and an excuse to buy some. Vans are typically some of the most comfy shoes you can wear, once I bought TNT's years ago, i refused to wear anything else, but these really aren't. It's like Vans took their formula, over engineered it for the concept of these for only the most regular of feet because they can't please every foot shape with the added cushion, and made them far less comfy, in fact uncomfortable after just a short while. A company that is usually so reliable for comfort, missed the mark pretty drastically, to the ... MoreI love the look of these, and I also love the idea of them, but the reality however, not so much. A company that is usually so reliable for comfort, missed the mark pretty drastically, to the point my feet would have been far less shredded in some cheaper boots that I own that I shall not name. It one of those where i let my heart rules my head, and it's a coi flip between wishing I shouldn't and wearing them anyway.

Super comfy warm walking boots - passes the comic con test
16 December 2022

I bought these in the Black Friday sale and, wow, they are worth it. I work a lot of comic cons, and I usually wear a pair of vans, but they aren't always the most comfy after prolonged time on your feet. I tried these out at a con, and they were great. My feet were comfortable and warm and the colours blend in well with dark clothing. I also tried them out in the recent -5°C icy weather, and although my feet were a little numb after standing at a train station for over an hour (yay one day with no train strikes), I think this could easily be remedied with a nice pair of thick socks. I was able to walk on the icy floor without any incident, while being careful of course.I made the decision to get a full size bigger than I usually do, as I thought that leaving room ... MoreI bought these in the Black Friday sale and, wow, they are worth it. Super disappointed
11 January 2022

These are NOT green. Bought them as a gift in the grape leaf and they look nothing like the photo! The stock photo is an obvious bright olive green - but in real life they're more like a green-tinged bluish-black. There's no way these shoes are passing off as green to anyone who buys them. Plus, the suede is cut super sloppy with uneven trim and sections where the inner felt lining sticks out past where the leather should have been sewn. I don't see how these could possibly have passed quality control - it's just sad. The sizing was as expected but they look so cheap it's not even worth the comfort. Returning ASAP.

Vans Offroad
12 February 2024

These were my first Ultra-range line of Vans, and they are definitely ultra. They're significantly beefier than MTE Vans. That's appreciated when it's snowy/mucky outside, but they do not have the lightweight/svelte feel that I'm used to with Vans shoes - IE, they are a bit chunky and impractical for driving. They appear to be holding up very well to hard use however. Would buy again.
