The UltraRange Exo WW MTE-1 Shoe is Vans' new warm-weather version of its mountain edition shoes. The water-resistant uppers offer protection for rainy weather, while the new MTE-1 ventilation package pairs recycled polyester mesh with Ortholite sockliners to keep our feet ventilated and dry. There's plenty of cushion and protection, too, with UltraCush midsoles keeping things soft underfoot and a lug pattern that's up to a variety of warm-weather terrain.

Definitely a departure from your usual pair of vans. Nice little shoe for fall and warmer winter weather. Vans styling, married to hiker type outsole. Lighter than they look and pretty grippy. I don’t think I would use these for serious hiking, but could be paired with a flannel shirt for a bit of pub crawling or hanging out in Banff. Fit true to size and may be a bit tight with a bit of a thicker wool sock, that might change as they break in, though. Like em!

The Vans Ultrarange EXO MTE-1 Shoes are a solid choice for anyone seeking both style and functionality. These shoes stand out with their sleek design and the classic Vans aesthetic, making them versatile enough for both casual outings and adventurous endeavors. The comfort level is impressive, thanks to the supportive sole and cushioning, which is a boon for extended wear. They excel in durability too, handling various terrains and weather conditions with ease. However, they lose a star as they can be a bit snug initially, requiring a brief break-in period.

I originally bought the wrong size. They were too tight. I purchased the correct size, had those shipped quickly, and had my original purchase amount returned to me within a timely manner. Very satisfied with the entire purchase process. The shoes overall are very stylish and very comfortable. These are my first pair of Van's and I look forward to buying more in different colors. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Overall really happy with these shoes. I am a women's 8.5 typically and these felt true to size. I recently took them on a trip to Ireland and they were good for walking around cities and also some outdoor activity/light hiking. They got a bit muddy/dirty but they clean up really well. They are becoming my regular dog walking shoes too. They are warm and keep my feet dry.
As a matter of fact, I sent it back.I will give 1 star just for the looks.I always wear UltraCush but this is the most uncomfortable rigid shoe ever.Shoe needs re-designed. Toe box is too small even with the laces as loose as a goose. The lacing holes toward the toes is too close together. So the shoe runs small in that aspect. And I don't have a wide foot. I'm a woman with a normal women's foot. My toes were in the perfect position in the shoe.
Bought these about 2 months ago. Rubber on toe is already to separate from the suede. Outsides the balls of my feet is separating from the suede. Logo on heel of left shoe has come off. THE SHOELACES COME UNTIED CONSTANTLY! I'll admit, I'm extremely hard on my shoes and gear. I was hoping that the $120 would reflect on quality. It simply does not. The other MTE Vans are AWESOME!!!! Exceeded my expectations. But these light weight, warm weather shoes seem to be made for pantywaists and desk jockeys.
I wanted some vans styling that were more winter ready for the rainy pacific northwest and the Ultra Range EXO MTE-1 delivered! Excellent water resistance for those wet winter days, warm but light weight. The only negative I would say is that they were a bit tight for my normal shoe size so you might want to think about sizing up. They took a bit to break in but once they did, they are super comfy.
I absolutely love vans and this shoe style especially but! Thats why i am so bummed out. The shoes fits like it runs a half size to small very tight and uncomfortable and the leather sweats in the crease of your shoe from when your walking. Unfortunately I wasted my money. Also,I have pictures but it won't let me upload it
These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.I am 60 years old, only own 3 pairs of shoes, all Vans. These MTE1's for wet & winter, grey Old Skool for summer, OS Pro all black for biking.I've worn Vans since they first hit UK in the 70s. Seriously considering getting some red & blue 'Alva' Eras again. Luv mi Vans me !
Out of the box they look great. Took a few days of wearing them in and now they are super comfortable and fit great. And they keep my feet warm and dry. I've had them in 20 degrees weather and my feet were just fine. But I've had them for exactly 30 days and the soles or the shoe and the mid soles are starting to separate from the shoe one shoe is almost completely disconnected on one side. I've been wearing vans my whole life and they have never fallen part like this. Other than that they are a good shoe
