First, I am NOT a "Sneaker" person so to speak as I always love leather shoes and boots all my life. However, reality tells me that they are not made for strolling. Therefore, I attempt to get for myself a pair of comfortable walking shoes. Personally, I am not daring when comes to loud shocking colours so CHIVE (Green) has caught my attention. Now, the problem is the SIZING. When I tried size 11, the left foot fits perfectly but the right foot is tight and snug fit. But on size 11.5, the right foot is okay but a bit lose on the left foot. Hence, I end up with a size 11.5 and just wear thick socks. But in terms of shoe comfort - I was literally walking on clouds. Very light and comfortable.

These shoes are much more narrow than other Vans shoes I’ve owned in the past, particularly in the foot box area. But I’ve decided to keep them because I imagine the woven fabric upper will stretch over time. The fabric is very breathable and comfortable, making it ideal for wearing without socks. The ultracush sole is very nice to walk in, and the tread on the bottom is great for light trail use. These shoes are marketed as being more sustainable, though I couldn’t but notice how strongly they smelled of plastic/rubber when pulling them out of the box. But I’m glad to see Vans going in this direction.

Unfortunately, the design of this line of ultra range RX3 was poor. I'm not sure why they deviated from the fit that worked in the previous ultra range lines like the exo. The overall look is great but the fit it horrible. The shoe is very narrow and the heel part is designed poorly. I've tried sizing up and down to see if it would help, but the issue with the heel remains the same. I've also tried different types of socks to mitigate the issue. It causes blisters and also pulls your sock down from your heel when you are walking.Great look, but poor functionality.

Do they sometimes rub my right achilles if I wear no-show socks? Yes. Are they still the most comfortable shoes I'VE EVER OWNED? Yep.I've biked in them, walked 10 miles in them, hiked in them, and office-worked in them and they were great for each. Supportive, light, stylish, and versatile...my new fave all-purpose shoe.I have a wide forefoot, which as a woman makes shoe shopping a drag. The combo of D width and stretchy upper accommodates my weird feet perfectly. And the almond-ish toe shape makes these almost...chic? My first, but surely not last, Ultraranges.
I was skeptical based on the bad reviews of these being not an option for wide feet and causing blisters in the back of the heel, but I have fairly wide feet and went TTS from my other Exo Ultra Range’s and these fit great and I wore them without socks for a week now with no blisters. Super light and comfortable, great daily show you can slip on without socks. Full disclosure, I got these on sale so that does play a big part in the positive review (they’re definitely not worth $120) because durability seems like a huge concern with the mid foot being so narrow I’m afraid of my foot ripping out the stitching at the side down the line. But for $60 bucks they’re a great sustainable Yeezy boost alternative made with decent quality recycled materials that you can beat up ... MoreI was skeptical based on the bad reviews of these being not an option for wide feet and causing blisters in the back of the heel, but I have fairly wide feet and went TTS from my other Exo Ultra Range’s and these fit great and I wore them without socks for a week now with no blisters. ULTRARANGE VR3 ShoeI love these shoes. They are the lightest, fluffiest sneakers I've ever worn. I wear them everyday for walking. They have a wide, angled platform that provides a lot of extra support for comfort and balance. The knit of the shoe is durable, breathable, and super light. You can slide your foot in with very little effort. The tongue is part of the body, so it is connected to the sides where you lace up. It took a second to adjust to, but I don't think twice about it now.The only gripe I have had is that I can't wear no-show socks with them. Shorter socks don't pull over the back of the heel far enough to prevent blisters. Quarter crews work well though.I plan on buying another pair when I wear these out. Highly recommended.
These are the best fitting, most comfortable shoe I've owned in 50 years of life. I've always been a vans fanboy since childhood, but they weren't always the most comfortable shoes. Starting with ultracush soles, to the first gen ultrarange and now the vr3 they've gotten progressively more comfortable. I also like the mesh upper because they breathe well in the heat. That was not true of the ultrarange exos I had with solid uppers. Those were uncomfortable sweatboxes. I think these vr3's are the pinnacle of comfort. Please, please, please, don't change the design.
I was really excited to receive these shoes, hoping they would be perfect for mountain biking or easy hikes on groomed trails. Unfortunately, the aggressive curve around the inner arch support causes the shoe to pull your foot forward. This makes the foot pull away from the heel area, and in turn the heel moves up and down inside the shoe - essentially the same action you get when wearing flip flops. It also caused a pressure point in my arch area that would be a real problem for someone with more advanced plantar-fasciitis.The sock-style construction leaves no way to tighten the laces enough to secure the rear of the shoe to your achilles area, and you essentially have a piece of rubber and cloth moving independent to your foot, with no support whatsoever. These ... MoreI was really excited to receive these shoes, hoping they would be perfect for mountain biking or easy hikes on groomed trails. Happened to catch the dark denims in a size 13 at the store; my size13's were on display. Tried them on it's been like butter on my feet! The ecocush is like walking on pillows. Vans has been my favorite go-to practically any occasion shoe for over ten years now, primarily because of the comfort factor. The new VR3's take comfort to the next level. I usually wear socks with my Vans, really to protect the integrity of the shoe; I've read other reviews mentioning the friction on the foot. For me, they're snug yet comfortable with some give; sort of like a glove on my feet. These will be a strong addition to my Vans collection.
When the ultrarange rapidweld first came out I bought a pair. I loved them so much, I bought several more pairs shortly after. Other people would comment on my shoes when I was wearing them, how they had some but they fell apart. I never had that problem, but it must have been a thing because vans started making different versions with different material. I bought different iterations of the ultrarange, like exo, and others, but none were ever as comfortable as rapidweld. Options in rapidweld pared back to just a few colors over time. Then, vr3 came out. These are the lightest shoe I've owned from vans and by far the most comfortable. I forget I even have shoes on, and in my opinion, that's how it should be. I can definitely say these are my favorite shoes I've ever owned from any brand.
