Amazing shoes, not great longevity/customer support

I got these shoes on the recommendation of a friend who wore them on a two week trip to Australia and New Zealand that involved a lot of hiking and walking. I absolutely love the look of these shoes, and for all black shoes, they're actually pretty easy to clean and keep looking nice. Once they broke in after a few days, they were probably the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I could wear them all day and forget I had them on. Thats why I was so disappointed after just 2 months of regular use, that the sole started coming off and a hole in the mesh formed on the front right area of the right shoe. Because of how well made the shoes seem, I honestly thought, and still think, that it could just be a defective shoe, and that 99% of these shoes probably don't ... MoreI got these shoes on the recommendation of a friend who wore them on a two week trip to Australia and New Zealand that involved a lot of hiking and walking. Because of how well made the shoes seem, I honestly thought, and still think, that it could just be a defective shoe, and that 99% of these shoes probably don't have this issue. But as I found out when I went to the Van's store where I picked these up and said "hey, these probably shouldn't fall apart after 2 months", Van's has no quality guarantee of any sort, so I can't find out if my shoe is just a fluke without buying another pair for full price. Now after 4 months of regular use (because these are still my primary shoes) the mesh on the left side of the right shoe has completely blown out, and the left shoe is still completely fine. I will also say, in more minor gripes, that the laces have gotten very fuzzy, and despite my best efforts, I've never gotten the finger loops on the heels and tongues to unflatten from being squished in the packaging. The shoes have also gotten a bit less comfortable as I've continued wearing them. Over all, I really want to just love these shoes, but without being able to get a replacement for what I still think is just a faulty shoe, I can only say that buying these is a gamble.

Cute, comfortable but bad quality

Vans quality has dropped significantly in the past couple years and these are definitely not an exception. The comfy cush is super helpful for being on your feet all day they fit me well for the most part, but the seams on these just crumble. I don't even have wide feet and the seam where the rubber toe meets the mesh (where your pinky toe sits) wears out every time with a huge hole. These only lasted me about 6 months with is super unfortunate considering how expensive they are

Great Style and Comfort but Glue leaking and Blisters

I got these for something light and comfy to wear around Disneyland. First day I got really bad blisters on my Achilles area. Also I noticed what I thought was maybe sweat or water stains on the suede on top of the toe on both shoes after the first day I wore them. I cold kinda scrape it off with my fingernail but every time I wear them it comes back. A review here confirmed my suspicion that it could be a defect with the glue leaking out from under the toe rubber. The rubbing is better the more I break them in but the ugly white stains are still there and bumming me out because I really love these shoes and hoped to get another pair.

I would buy this producgt again

Feels like buying something made for its purpose! I ordered size 13 when I usually wear 12 12/12.5 because I wanted to wear good socks with these shoes. I got the VR3, the ventilated summer shoe, in size 12 to wear legit without socks and its amazing feeling free! Wouldn't want any other logo when I skateboard or electric scooter. These feel made for the user, the adventurer! Grip on concrete hills. Comfy for sidewalk distances. Would buy again see you for EXO3 and VR7! xD

Really Great Pair of Shoes!
4 January 2021

These are really good! I wanted to get a black pair of shoes that I could use for everyday stuff, especially without worrying too much about dirt/discoloration. (Black is a great color for that). My pair is the EXO SE, although I don't know what the SE part means. I like that they're better-cushioned than typical Vans, and the outsole has a tread pattern that's great for traversing uneven ground like trails. For a while, using them would hurt my left big toe, but now that I've broken them in a bit, they're really comfortable, and they'll probably only keep getting better. The insole is rather flat, so there isn't that much arch support, which wasn't great for someone with high arches like me, but breaking them in a bit has made it so that they're more comfortable, ... MoreThese are really good! I like that they have that plastic guard part in certain areas where the upper meets the sole, I think it's a nice touch, and it'll probably contribute to the durability. Here's my biggest complaint: They don't come in purple! Make a purple variety. Something like purple and black, or purple and white would look amazing! There are bits of purple on other pairs, but I'm talking full purple. Anyway, these are great shoes overall, and I highly recommend them.

Stylish and more arch support than regular vans shoes
11 October 2022

I wore nothing but Vans when I was young, but I need more arch support these days. These are a step in the right direction for vans shoes, At least when it comes to a walking show. Im sure vans will always make there classic style of flat bottom shoe, but these new styles with some arch support are a welcome addition. especially for us older kids (55) that need a little arch support..They look very nice in person and fit to size -at least length wise goes. They do feel a bit snug from the bottom (sole) to the top. I think the arch support takes up a bit more of that space inside the shoe..Maybe Vans can look into giving us a bit more space top to bottom (not Length) inside the shoe. But for now I will buy another pair.Lots of cool colors to chose fromI only gave ... MoreI wore nothing but Vans when I was young, but I need more arch support these days. Super comfy, stylish and practical
26 April 2024

Sometimes you never know how Vans are sized. I have pairs that I can wear with socks and those that are supposed to be the same size that I cannot wear with socks. These are size correctly and socks feel great. The only change I would make is to wident the toe bed slightly to accommodate the actual shape of one's foot. Seems like a no-brainer, but whomever is making the decisions doesn't get it. Otherwise, rad shoes!

The perfect travel shoe!
15 January 2024

You know when you hear a new song for the first time but you immediately recognize the band? That's this shoe. The design elements are all Vans but in a sporty package that's unexpected. This is my first UltraRange shoe but I'm sold. I bought them as an all-purpose travel shoe and I think they'll be perfect for that application. Lightweight and breathable so your feet won't run too hot, but the build feels solid and the materials are more resiliant than typical running shoes. Sturdy enough to handle light trail work. A great all-arounder! Runs true to size.

Very comfortable shoe for my foot
11 April 2023

My kids dragged me into Vans to 'shop' and I ended up buying a couple of pairs for myself. One was the Ultrarange in all black. My first pair of Vans would've been purchased shortly after Fast Times at Ridgemont High was released in 82'.... I am a school teacher and a bunch of students wear Vans and I was trying to stay under the radar with the all black version. I am impressed with the comfort level and fit -- at least for me personally. I've seen some reviews talking about this shoe not being comfortable but that's not my experience. They are very light weight and I feel I COULD run in them if I wanted to but they're not really a running shoe. The fabric reminds me a little of a training shoe such as the Metcon or Nano but with a more nimble sole.

Very lightweight sneakers
8 December 2022

Love the look...great colors! The sneakers are very lightweight...which is a positive, but also the reason I only gave them 4 stars. I've only worn them once since I got them 2 weeks ago. They were very comfortable, but not as sturdy as previous vans I've purchased. These will not be worn everyday, so I assume this will help them last longer. They were very true to size...I wear a womens 8.5-9 in running shoes. I ordered an 8.5 in this style, and was ale to even wear a small orthotic in the shoe without taking out the insole. Which I didn't want to do because it is very cushy. Overall, very pleased with this shoe.
