Swapped it for the Bissell. The handle snapped in half on the Vax after two months. The pads are hopeless. The detergent they supply leaves streaks. And holding down the trigger on the detachable handheld unit is a pain. Get the HN Product Care is my advice if you're buying this product... So you too can swap it for a better one when it breaks.

I've had this mop for a few months and so great with the pull off steamer. Detergent is so nice and smells amazing. Pass easy to wash and replace and i did notice streaking, but it was actually because I was using mop pad from kitchen to lounge and it was picking up grease. So a user error. Easy fix was to buy multi pack that is sold in Harvey Norman

I am glad I bought this, and would buy again. I spent a few weeks reading about steam cleaners, and didn't want to break the bank, and we are in an apartmemt so I didn't want a huge contraption. Tank is easy to fill, heats up very fast, no down-time between refills. Stores neatly, not too bulky. Handheld unit very handy. Cord is very long, so can stretch far. This can mean you are dragging a long cord around sometimes, but that's ok.I have used for floor tile grouting (loosened up dirt nicely- i just used a damp cloth to wipe it away), oven door (blasted grease), and carpets (freshened overall).Carpet stains (cream carpet): had moderate effect on old wax (which really pleased me), minimal effect on old tomato pesto sauce stain.The small brush head attachment ... MoreI am glad I bought this, and would buy again. I bought the Vax combi steamer about 4-6 weeks ago and have not regretted one bit. I bought this very reluctantly after my previous steamer broke and it was iunsafe to use. The VAX VX24 combi steamer is fantastic. It is easy to use and the floors look so clean. I love that the cord is long too. I wish I had the option to buy extra steam pads and the detergent too though.
Pros: One of the best steam cleaners around. So easy to use and can turn off the detergent if it’s not needed. Power cord definitely long enough for family room/dining/kitchen & laundry.Cons: Doesn’t have any bad points.
Pros: the ability to add (proprietary) detergent is a big plus. Sometimes I need a little extra for the kitchen and bathroom tiles and I don't want to use a different method (e.g. mop & bucket).Cons: The steam switch has to be held on to maintain steam, which might get a bit tiring if you are cleaning a large area. I have also found that when I release the steam switch after a reasonable period of use, there's a bit of a water dump which saturates the cloth and I need to change the cloths if I want to continue, otherwise the floor is too wet afterwards.
I got this mop for Christmas 2015. I had a steam mop before for years a Kenwood. This mop doesn't clean my floor. You have to hold down the button on the handle to make steam BUT you can;t hold the button continually so the steam stops.Also the steam detergent is useless. The mop was very expensive as well. I hate this mop. Can't wait for it to break.
Pros: I l9ve the detachable steamer, so you can clean other things. Works really well to clean up dirty grout.Cons: The small water tank needs to be filled up more often when tackling big jobs, but i suppose this gives the machine a chance to rest, so it doesnt get overused and hot, potentially saving a burnt out motor.
This is the third machine that VAX have now replaced with the same fault - does not steam and leaks water. Now VAX are telling me that the machine will not be replaced as the original warranty has expired, on the first machine.They offered me a discount on a new machine !! Really am I am going to purchase another pile of rubbish.Very disappointing
Excellent versatile steam floor cleaner, not only does it clean a variety of floor surfaces. It has numerous attachments that can be used to clean fabric sofas and couches but also glass, oven,and anything else that you think of, and a variety of surfaces with many applications and easy to use.Great steam pressure available allows with the various attachments to apply steam to thoroughly clean those hard to get to areas and reduces time and scrubbing by hand, also the detergent function allows you apply cleaning agent to hard to clean stains and grime. Overall an excellent product that has many uses in and around the home, office and business.
