An Honest Review After a Year of Wearing

These shoes are great and look cute with ANYTHING. I would say the pros are that they are comfortable, stylish, can be worn with anything, and after a few wears are fully broken in as the leather starts to give, making them more comfy the more you wear them. The cons are - after having these for over a year, I wear them about once every other week (I also store them in their box when I'm not wearing them), and after wearing them for a little over a year the insides are starting to come apart in the heel area. So just be advised - the quality on the outside of the shoe is wonderful, but the insides are a little more sensitive to normal wear and tear. I'm over one year in to wearing these shoes and I still love them and plan to buy another pair!

Cute on the side only, wide toebox

I wanted really the white/matcha combo, the color is ok but I can’t get past the wide toebox. Yes it accomodated my toes but way too wide for my liking and style. This looked cute on the side but the wide shape is not good. I didnt had time to return so I am stucked with it. Also no support at all in arches whatsoever and nothing special on footbed. In fairness, I walked on this for a whole day errand and it did not hurt my feet thus my 4 star rating. Also for the price point it’s too expensive for me considering I am not truly happy with the fit.

Flat bottom is a no for me

I hope this helps someone. I wear a women’s size 9 and have wide feet. The size 40 was honestly a little too big. But main reason I’m returning is the flat bottom. I was torn between the v12 and these but opted for campo because they came in white&black and wanted to wear with work outfits. I wish I got the v12s though because these shoes resemble the reason I don’t like converses on me- the flat bottoms make them look clown-ish. & even in the way you walk, emphasizes flat-footedness since the bottom is all the same width.

Great Looking, runs big
24 January 2023

Love the Veja Campo! I have them in white with black and just purchased these in white with neutral beige. I usually wear a size 6.5-7 shoe and the 37(6) worked best for me in the Veja campo. 38 was too big and although 37 felt a tad small they are fine once I wore them a few times. Unfortunately they don't come in 1/2 sizes because a 37.5 would be perfect. I wouldn't consider them the most cushioned comfy sneakers but they look great and are comfy enough to wear all day. I researched all the styles and really like the Campo the best. I love the pebbled leather and thicker sole. I definitely recommend!

Love these! ran big
12 October 2022

I love the look of the Veja Campo sneakers and have been wanting them in white with black for awhile so after reading tons of reviews I finally ordered them. I have an average to narrow foot and wear a size 7 in most shoes so I ordered the size 37 and 38 since I was not sure what size would fit me best. I ended up keeping the 37/6. Although the 37 felt a tad small the 38 was definitely too big. Unfortunately they don't make half sizes because a 37.5 would've been perfect but once I wore them around for a day they actually feel perfectly fine and are very comfortable. No issues with the tongue either, I found it to be very soft so I do think they have changed it since older reviews complained it was stiff and uncomfortable. I do always wear thin footies which I think helps especially if the sneakers feel a bit small since footies hold your foot so it doesn't spread out as much if that makes sense, I noticed the shoes felt better and roomier with thin footies than without. I would recommend sizing down especially if you are a half size.. Veja Campo are great looking sneakers, I highly recommend!

Runs TTS to Large -
13 January 2022

I ordered the Veja Campo after debating between Campo, Vespalar, V10. This was a good choice, liked the pebbled leather. Shoe wasn't too bulky or too low. Looks great with my leather leggings, jeans and shorts. Read a lot about tongue being long, etc, Mine didn't seem any longer, just a little stiffer, but I think that's to be expected with leather vs canvas, just needs time to break it in like any leather would. TTS in width, certainly not a really narrow shoe. I am a true 7.5 (US) size in sneakers, from keds, Brooks, adidas, Under Armour, Nike. ALWAYS ALWAYS a 7.5. In dress shoes, flat loafers, heels, I"m always 7.5, but in strappy sandals, flip flops, I tend to go to an 8 when I can, just because I don't like my heel to be right on the edge. I ordered both size 7 & 8 (US). I went with the 7 because they were pretty much exactly like a true 7.5 (US). I'd say if in between sizes, order both (since free shipping/returns and Nordstrom is really easy with returns) or go with smaller size.

Stylish and cute but expensive and not for walking
14 May 2023

I have been looking for a stylish, versatile, low profile white sneaker for awhile now to replace a worn pair I have. Given the price I did my research and read many reviews - my biggest concern going in was that several noted they are a bit stiff at first but break in quickly and my feet are on the wide side. My friend has this exact sneaker and raved about them, so I finally gave in and purchased them as a birthday gift to myself. I’m not a big fan of ‘breaking in’ shoes, but thought these just might be worth it. Sadly they are not. They are cute on and go with so much, but after wearing them for several months now I have noticed my feet (arches) and back hurting if I walk any appreciable distance in them. I’m afraid I am going to have to relegate these to the times I want a casual look, but am going by car and with not much walking involved. Too much money for the wear I will get out of them IMO.

cute and comfortable but flawed
4 March 2023

So the positives first: these look great and fit nicely. I have a slightly wide foot and these shoes accommodate that while looking great. They are very comfortable.HOWEVER—for $175 I would expect these to hold up better than they are. I’ve work them maybe five times and the rubber at the toe is already separating from the bottom. I’m not terribly hard on shoes and I’ve worn these mostly indoors (only outdoors walking from cars to buildings.) My (insert basically every other brand of casual sneaker here) hold up for years without this problem. I do like how these look, but would not repurchase and don’t think they’re worth the money.

tongue uncomfortable
18 February 2022

I have been wanting to buy these for a while and finally made the purchase. Unfortunately, like several other reviewers have mentioned, the flaw involving the tongue of the shoe. It feel like a sharp piece of cardboard cutting against your foot/ankle. This problem could easily be solved. The tongue has a soft fabric padding in it but not on the last quarter inch that trims the tongue. That part is just stiff leather and pokes your foot/ ankle area. Other than that problem, I LOVED the look and style of the shoe. It can be paired with man outfits and dressed up or down. I ordered a size 38 and it fit perfectly. I wear between a 7.5 and 8 in shoes (I wear 38 in Birks so used that as a guide when ordering). I was very disappointed bc they are very fashionable. First, the lack of half-sizes really stinks. Unlike other reviews, I do find them true to size. I’m an 8.5, and the 8 was too small while the 9 was too big. I ordered the Esplar and the Campo and found the sizing is the same in both styles. Esplar is more narrow, Campo is wider (slightly too wide for me). Esplar is smooth leather while Campo is textured. I liked the width of Esplar better but the texture of Campo. Beyond the sizing, the shoes just aren’t cut well. The tongue on Campo is way too long, and it leaves a red mark after only a few minutes of wear. By contrast, the tongue on Esplar is shorter like a normal shoe, but the ankle area is too narrowly cut. The raises to quickly and rubs the front bottom edge of the outside ankle. It’s a shame that both styles fall short. If the tongue on campo wasn’t so absurdly long, I’d have probably kept those. As it is, they’re all going back.
