I really want to love these shoes. Cuz they look clean smart and versatile. But there are very painful to wear for long walks. The leather bends and digs into toes ouch. Will only wear them for local dinner nights or boring work days. Definitely not for any trips. Not for malls. Not even for errands. Uh uh.

Alternative Court Sneakers

I was looking for an alternative court sneaker that was comfortable, reasonably priced and great quality. I ordered these just to try, not expecting to like them, but these were shockingly comfortable right out of the box. They are not comfortable in the sense that they have a lot of padding like you would find in a nike sneaker. The insole feel is more firm and the leather is a little more rigid, like you would find in a high quality leather shoe. They did not have a tight or glove like fit that I often find in a shoe like this, but there were a few pressure points in the shoe that were only noticeable when walking. These are absolutely my favorite shoes I own now! They are incredibly comfortable and so cute. I was so on the fence about buying these and read a ton of reviews before deciding to purchase. I saw a lot of reviews mentioning the sizing was way off and the tongue was really uncomfortable. I found neither of those things to be true. I’m a true size US9 and I ordered the US9 equivalent and they fit perfectly. Had I ordered a size down, I would’ve had to exchange for being too small. 10/10 buy!!!

Incorrectly listed as a leather sneaker

I love Veja sneakers but Nordstrom incorrectly lists this as a leather sneaker. It arrived today and is a plastic coated cotton, faux leather alternative. Very disappointing that Nordstrom's website was so inaccurate, I ordered this sneaker ahead of a vacation and then had to drive across town and back to return it and a new pair will not arrive in time before my trip. Next time I will just order from Veja directly to know what I'm buying for certain at the time of purchase.

Runs wide, cheaply constructed

I purchased two pairs of sneakers that resulted in an accidental showdown between the Veja V-10 and the Hoff Metro. Veja V-10 gets 3 stars, Hoff Metro 5 stars. The Veja V-10 Sneakers were sloppy-wide on my feet but were the right length. The tongue was just a flimsy piece of unpadded, thin leather. When I walked, the shoe bent in such a way as to dig into the top of my toes. Felt cheaper than Hoff while costing more. Like the look at a glance but lost the head to head with Hoff. Going back.

Stylish

Great looking sneaker that elevates your look. I also have New Balance 977H in white (nice/comfy shoe but not as stylish as these). Sizing chart didn't match the actual size of the product. I ordered W EUR40/US8.5 based on my foot length of 25.5. The box and shoe was labelled EUR40/US9. They are a wee bit big, but going down to EUR30/US8 might have been a bit too small in length. Wide-ish and roomy toebox. Insole is removable if you want to replace with orthotics. Like other reviews, the tongue is a bit long and might bother some people. If unsure about sizing, suggest ordering based on the length of your foot (JPN/CN). The shoe size incorporates some space for comfort.

Synthetic material, not leather

The sneakers are beautiful and true to size, but the upper material is synthetic, not leather as described. I contacted Anthropologie’s customer support before my purchase, and they assured me the shoes were leather, which turned out to be incorrect. Additionally, there is no clear labeling on the Veja shoe box or shoes regarding the materials used. I avoid synthetic materials, and without transparency in labeling, I will be returning these.

They work for narrow feet, too.

These are marked at men's but actually they are unisex. I bought size 7 which is the equivalent of a women's 9. I wear a size 9 in North Face hiking shoes. I could have gone with a women's 8.5 in these if they had half sizes. The women's 8 was too small. These actually hold my narrow heel better than the V-12s which are touted as being better for narrow feet. It may be due to having an additional lace hole. I was able to fit a slim full-length insole in these with room to spare. You can also remove the foot bed if you need the extra space to fit an insole. The insole measures 26.3 cm long, 8.7 cm wide at the ball of the foot and 6.4 cm wide at the heel. There is virtually no arch support. The soles are not squishy but not super hard, either. Veja Black/White

I'm not the one who write reviews but I feel like I just have to for this particular shoes. Before purchasing the black/white Veja, I seriously went on a thorough research because I really love the style and I prefer shoes that will go with many outfits! BUT if it was uncomfortable (per other reviews) then it wouldn't be worth paying much for it. After months of research (right size, narrow vs wide, comfort of the tongue etc), I finally decided to pull the trigger. I'm usually a true size 38 (Eu), which is size 7 in the US but after reading and listening to reviews from different sites (youtube, zappos, amazon , pinterest) that this run big, i decided to go with 37, which is only half size smaller. Wore the shoes around the house, placed the tongue on the side (left and right) and tried bending it multiple time so not so stiff! I must say, I felt very stylish wearing them for the first time out in town! So yea, I love them!!

Fix: I tried the “pull the tongue to the side” trick, but within 10 steps, the tongues kept working themselves back to the top. Fix: I ended up just folding my tongues under and tucking the last inch or so under the laces. This works perfectly for me....and I actually like the look better without the long tongue sticking out.Break-in time for me was two full days of wear...walking 5-6 miles each day. On day three, these were super comfy.These shoes - both styles - are so stinking cute, and with the break-in and minor fixes, they are now comfortable enough for me that I can walk miles and miles without complaint.Definitely worth the trouble.
