It is never enough Founded in Reims in 1722, the Maison Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin owes its fortune to the widow of François Clicquot (Nicole Ponsardin), a true entrepreneur who, at the young age of 27, taking over the company's leadership, played a very important role. In the success of champagne as a drink of choice in high-bourgeois circles and European courts. The success of her Brut is in the perfection of the assemblages, art in which the Maison Clicquot Ponsardin knows how to stand out and, in this Magnum format, gives us the best of itself thanks to the best refinement. Straw yellow with golden reflections, it has a fine and persistent perlage. Smell marked by initial notes of yeast and bread crust, followed by white flowers and nuts, sugared almonds and sweet spices on mineral base. Particularly fresh and balanced on the palate, it has a good softness and a delicate sapid wake. The final is vaguely almond. For the whole meal, preferably with dishes based on fish, shellfish and seafood but can easily be combined with rustic pies, potato gatêau and vegetable fries.

You can’t go wrong with the champagne! It always delivers, is available at most liquor stores or places that sell wine. It’s on most menus that sell champagne at restaurants. The downside, is the pricing when you are out at a restaurant. Sometimes it’s price just right and sometimes it can be priced on the high side. I typically get a bottle of this at either wine stores like Total Wine. Or… I will order this out at a restaurant when they have half-price bottle wine. Makes it much more affordable. I definitely recommend this champagne if you are not sure what to get and you would like to celebrate a special occasion or surprise a champagne drinker.

When I’m looking to splurge without paying the price for Dom, this is my go to. As much as I have a love affair with Moët and Chandon, for the champagnes that are in the price range of Veuve, Veuve is superior. It complements almost any meal well, salty, sweet, savory you name it. It’s got the perfect flavor profile for a champagne of this price and it’s definitely something you are paying for. You can taste the higher quality. Like I said, it’s no Dom Perignon but it’s close for 1/3 of the price. Not to mention it is owned by LVMH which wins points in my book because Veuve isn’t just about champagne it’s about subscribing to a lifestyle brand and that is a big part of what makes LVMH, their parent company, so successful. Champagne fans !!! Run don’t walk to get your hands on this beautiful bottle of Brut . It’s about $50 but it’s a lovely treat for yourself or someone you love. It’s a great champagne for people who think they hate champagne because they will be transformed into Veuve Clocquot champagne fans. Honestly we had a bit left after our holiday dinner and I was thrilled to start the next morning with a mimosa to enjoy as I cleaned up the kitchen from the holidays. Get yourself the gift of a bottle of this delicious champagne brut this holiday season

This was absolutely delicious! Bubbles are tiny which is great because champagne with large bubbles is gross. It stayed bubbly in my fridge for 4 days! It’s smooth and slightly fruity. Smells amazing no weird after taste. Definitely worth it!
Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label looks beautiful: golden-yellow, with a foaming necklace of tiny bubbles. Next it is so pleasing to the nose: initially reminiscent of yellow and white fruits, then of vanilla and later of brioche. Note the fine balance between the fruity aromas coming from the grape varieties and the toasty aromas, the result of the three years of bottle aging. The first sip delivers all the freshness and strength so typical of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label with a symphony of fruit tastes following (pear, lemon). Here is a true member of the Brut family, well structured, admirably vinous. The lingering aromas echo, with each fruit or almond note distinct. For a NV Champagne, after a few generious glasses I think you will certainly remember the characteristics of Le Veuve. The nose is nutty, salty, a bit like a hard Italian cheese. The 3 grape blend is nicely balanced ... not too much of that Chardonnay heavy notes with other modest cost NV French Bruts ...I normally can bang through most/all of a bottle of non-vintage Moets, Pol Rogers, Supermarket own brands & Cremant wines through an evening, yet I find I have to slow down with Veuve ... it packs something!
I love Veuve Clicquot so much so that I gave a bottle of it to my family to celebrate a graduation. Silly me.....I expected we would enjoy the Veuve Clicquot together in celebration. They, instead, did not pop it open during my visit! I was surprised. My assumption, therefore, is that they love Veuve Clicquot at least as much as I do and intend to enjoy it privately so they can pour a little more in their own flutes. In the future I plan to bring two bottles for such celebrations.
Are there better champagnes than Veuve? Yes. Are there better values in champagne and sparkling? Also yes. But for <$60 can you wax fancy as well as you can with a bottle of Veuve? Well, yeah you probably can. It’s a solid bottle of slightly overpriced sparkling but Madame Cliquot is outdone by many of her peers in my opinion. Still, it feels nice to pop yellow label NV champs anytime.
I love this champagne. I buy it for all my special occasions, but I will never buy it from Total Wine again! I bought this through curbside pick up, and when I got the orange boxes home, there was a security seal on the top of the bottle. This prevented me from enjoying this fabulous champagne with my best friends. this should never have happened
My favorite champagne! It is not very sweet and has a nice dryness and flavor. I enjoy this for holidays and special occasions. While I can drink it before, during and after dinner, it is best alone or with light appetizers. I feel this champagne easily holds it's own against the pricy, super lux brands.
