Makers of the iconic Swiss Army knife, family-owned Victorinox produces kitchen knives with high-carbon stainless-steel blades at their original location in Ibach, Switzerland. The stainless steel undergoes a special tempering process to ensure its resilience, and each blade is ground in two directions for the perfect edge, then given a final polish. This chef's knife is perfectly suited for dicing, mincing and chopping, as well as slicing meats of all kinds. Knife blade is tapered to a 15-degree angle, with an edge ground in two directions for extra sharpness. Lightweight European high-carbon stainless steel provides strength and easy maneuverability. Blade maintains its sharpness thanks to Victorinox's proprietary tempering process. Fibrox nonslip handle ensures a comfortable, secure grip. Made in Switzerland.

Best knife I have ever used.i have been using this same knife for the ppp last decade and still looks and works like new. I use it everyday. I also have the same paring knife and now bought this again for my sister. This is the last knife you'll ever buy. It will spoil you for any other knife.

I work in a healthcare kitchen and needed a new chef's knife. Since I don't like to leave expensive knives laying around my kitchen and don't want the bother of carrying my knives back and forth, I was looking for a decent knife at a decent price. I own some incredibly expensive knives and take kitchen cutlery very seriously so I was surprised when this knife far exceeded my expectations and lived up to the hype surrounding it. I acclimated to it quickly and it performs beautifully with the basic everyday tasks I use it for. Slicing raw meat, even bacon, is effortless. Veggies don't stand a chance. It's definitely not the work of art that my Miyabi is, but it's a functional workhorse at a steal of a price. I'd buy it again and would be proud to give it as a gift.

I will be singing the same song for all of the Victorinox knives. This is the first knife I bought from them. I read great things about Victorinox in my Cooks Country cookbook so I tried this knife to see if Victorinox knives are for me. I like the fact that because the handle is made of a lightweight material (exactly what escapes me at the moment) it is much easier for me to hold and use than the very high end chefs knife that I have. I have neck and shoulder troubles that can make doing a lot of cutting and chopping really painful with a heavy knife. This knife is lightweight, has a great sharp blade that is easy to re-sharpen and makes kitchen work a joy. I truly love to cook! I love all the prep work and such an these knives are on my list of top 5 kitchen ... MoreI will be singing the same song for all of the Victorinox knives. This is the first knife I bought from them. I decided to get this knife based on America’s Test Kitchen knife reviews and I’m glad I did!! It does everything the way they described at a reasonable price. The handle is comfortable and my knuckles don’t hit the cutting board. It’s sharp and slices super thin without any effort. Not a lot of pressure is needed. Great knife to learn with!!
Super sharp knife! Best bang for your buck. Seriously, don’t waste your money getting a big knife set where you don’t use 70% of the knives. Get yourself this knife and a couple others.
This is a fantastic knife. Fantastic! If you are using it on a daily basis with something such as really tough meat (or even cutting through soft fish bones and tough tendons), you will have to sharpen it fairly often. Still -- it keeps its edge for a decent amount of time, is not super heavy to handle, and is Swiss-made. As in...made IN Switzerland by a Swiss company -- you cannot say that for other brands. Even All-Clad is now made in China!! This knife is superb. Highly recommend. <3
I have had one Swiss Army Knife or another in my pocket for the last 60 years, so Victorinox and I are old friends. I also love their kitchen cutlery. To me, it is the best balance of quality and price on the market. The knives are razor sharp, and they stay sharp, thanks to heir high carbon, stainless steel blades. They are remarkably lightweight, easy to cut precisely, requiring very little pressure to slice through. I have their chef knives, santoku knives, steak knives, paring knives, boning knives, and a number of their specialty blades. I have never regretted buying any of them. The 8" chef knife is one of my favorite blades in the kitchen. The handle fits the hand well and doesn't tire the grip on big tasks. It's remarkably lightweight, allowing a prolonged chopping action without fatigue. Its razor sharp blade can cut deli thin slices with ease, and chopping vegetables is a breeze. I'd give away a lot of my quality knives before I'd let go of this one.
We used this chefs knife at the restaurant i used to work at when i was in highschool. The quality of the blade is nicer than what you would find in your average knife block. The handle is cheap plastic. The weight is very good, very light, good for long cut times.
