I bake my own bread - both using a bread machine and loaves in the oven and I always had trouble cutting it thin - even after letting the loaf cool. I have bought the Victorinox steak knives before and love them, so I decided to buy the bread knife and WOW! It is awesome!! So easy to saw through even hot bread without crushing it. And slices as thin as I want too. Would definitely recommend this knife - the price is unbeatable and it's Victorinox - you won't be disappointed!

Great bread knife! I make my own bread and this knife glides easily through the freshest bread without crushing if out of shape which happened with my old knife even after sharpening it. I recommend this knife.
As with all Victorinox products, you get a really good product for a very affordable price.The knife has a very solid feel to it and it slices through very soft fresh bread very easily without squashing the entire loaf, it works like a charm with any freshly baked bread, regardless of a hard/soft crust.I have used for slicing giant watermelons as well, it makes the task very easy especially with the long blade. Warning, it is very sharp. I have already hacked a gash into my finger... :D
