Awesome variant on an already great tool! The one handed opening blades is a nice upgrade to the traditional nail knick option and the black finish is functional and elegant. Awesome multi tool and highly recommended.

I have more than a few Swiss Army knives and pen knives and Leatherman multi tools (small and large).I've always liked Swiss Army for their quality engineering, blade sharpness, and overall robustness (Champion(s), Craftsman, Tinker Super etc).I've enjoyed the versatility of Leatherman multi tools (Charge / Wave / Micro / Squirt(s) and hover the years I have equipped every adult male in my family with at least Leatherman mini multi tools and Swiss Army pen knives. I haven't had it long enough to be sure I like the black finish. It's stealthy, which is good if you carry it in a pocket using the clip (optional extra) but I'd probably have gone steel if it had been available.And the scissors are very small. Fine for fishing line and small jobs, not much use for anything else.Other than that, I can see this Bad Boy edging out my latest SA Champion for many uses (I love the Champion for its wooden frame - classy!).

My only gripes involve difficulty accessing the main blade and lack of pocket clip. Victorinox has addressed the blade accessibility issue with a thumb stud fore one handed opening. Additionally on the blackened stainless version there is also a curved serrated blade Victorinox calls a seatbelt cutter. This replaces the wood saw and also has a thumb stud. The only downside with this is if you are right handed it is on the “wrong” side making it a little harder to manipulate. Finally, Victorinox has started offering a pocket clip that can be installed on any Swisstool spirit model and a black one is offered.
