Well it opens cans so I suppose I can't complain but it doesn't feel as bombproof as I expected a victorinox product to be. It's quite an "old fashioned" opener in that rather than lifting off the top, it cuts the lid away from the inside. The problem I have with this method is twofold: 1. The lid drops into the tin and has to be fished out. 2. You're left with a disc of very sharp metal to dispose of. To be honest, you could almost certainly find any old opener which would do the same job but would be much cheaper. This isn't a bad opener, it's just expensive for what it is.

It works well. I prefer a manual can opener to the electric ones because the electric things can leave the can lid incompletely cut loose from the can. Then you have a sharp edged can lid that you have to pry out. ( I ordered this can opener while the cut in my thumb was still healing ).
