Although not installed as yet, i have perfect confidence in the Victron 48/12 volt DC converter living up to the Victron reputation of high quality and efficient performance. As a long term user of various Victron products,[ viz. solar charge controllers, stand alone battery inverters, battery management modules etc.] i never fail to be impressed by their clean well engineered internal layouts. Pricewise, Victron offers great value for money especially when a side by side comparison is done with other well known equivalent brands.

I installed this on a Ford E-150 van with a 135 amp alternator. I use it to charge a 100 AH LiFePO4 battery pack. It's rating of 18 amps is misleading a bit, I have seen it put out 22 amps continuously at times. Now even with that massive heatsink, I chose to add a fan to mine. My fist test before mounting it was run for about 45 minutes on a cool day. No fan and the heat sink got very hot, I installed a simple CPU fan dead center over the heat sink and it sucked the heat off quickly. When I mounted it on the wall of the van I put a set of two mini fans that blow down the heat sink. It has yet to even warm up now while pushing the max. The voltage output adjustment is extremely accurate and easy to set.

Purchased this Orion-Tr 12/12-18A (220W) Isolated DC-DC Converter to use in my SUV to charge 2nd battery - a 12.8V LiFePO4 50AH. It works after some troubles figuring out the connection and adjustment. The input/output all marked clearly but for the remote switch, there are no +/- signs, nor H/L pin marked. No specific instruction for this model. There are some of instructions for other models said connecting switch and battery plus to the right hand side of the green remote connector. I gave it a try and it works. The output voltage adjustment screw is very loose, managed to adjust to 13.92V. No Bluetooth connection or any other means to connect to this model.
So far so good, maintains set output voltage with varying input. Was able to use this on factory 7pin truck harness and avoid running large cables to the camper.
Amazing piece of equipment for charging a lithium battery.. The victron DC/DC charger replaced a split relay I had to charge the original lead battery. Great Customer service and help from Lee and the team!
The product was obviously returned; plastic packaging was damaged, screw heads showed signs of being over torqued. I tested the product and it appears to be functionally good at this time. I am not returning it because it appears to be fine.
