I had a split charge relay in my van which worked ok but due to the fact I had a large battery bank (460ah), I wanted something that could fully change my batterys of grid. This product works amazingly and was a very easy swap with my split charge relay.

Easy instal. 4 mount bolts and 3 wires. I did elect to install a relay to the “wire bridge” but it’s not required. The app is full featured & very professional. The manual can be confusing, but I’ll clear that up quite simply - here goes: “Ignore section 4.5!” On first (and second and 3rd) read, it seems like this is a required step but it’s completely optional. If you’re not a pro installer, you probably don’t want to override this safety feature anyway. If you’re installing in a camper you probably have plenty of room. My install was under the hood of a Silverado and the only space it fits was in the flowmaster cold air intake housing. Paired with a Victron battery on the spare battery tray.

Victron is always a good choice. The Orion-TR Smart was the perfect choice allowing me to get engine charging with my new LiFePO4 battery bank on my 2021 Ranger Tug R-23. The engine detection is flawless and power transfer is easy to monitor with the Victron App.

Went with another brand DC to DC which had Lifep04 settings via dip switches. It did the job but charged the battery to 14.6 volts each time. I wanted more flexibility on the full charge voltage to try and maximise by battery life , 13.6 volts , and the Victron allowed me this flexibility. Recommended for Lifep04 batteries.
I had a cheaper charger to power my leisure batteries which run drills and a large grinder in my work vehicle via an inverter. I always had trouble with the power not spinning the grinder up and having to switch the inverter on and of to get up to speed until I installed this product now I have no trouble with any of my batteries getting a decent charge and powering my electrical machines in my vehicle. I would highly recommend this product
Not usual victron blue amazing standard. For price, vs features vs output. No smart network, no connecting to raspberry pi or GX network, Bluetooth is basically same as what others would use dip switches for then never need to change again. It's market filling product imho. 30amp for double price of all competitors. No reverse polarity protection. No repair options. All other victron products A++ avoid this one till revision two or three comes out in years to come.

It runs hot. Not just a little, but HOT HOT. Reading the Victron sites, everyone is complaining about how hot it runs. Only feedback from the manufacturer is that it needs to be installed properly. I designed an air distribution manifold and printed on my 3D printer. Black on black in the picture, so a bit hard to see, but look under the unit. Fitted a little 2" fan pushing 6CFM through the fins. Only pulls 0.14A and the unit no longer gets hot. It doesn't seem to need that much airflow, but convective air currents don't seem to be enough from both my and other's experiences. The heat sink is big, they tried to size it to handle the thermal load, but without airflow it's useless. Glad they made the investment, as the small fan really works well with the large heat sink. The bluetooth link is nice, but the app needs more features. It tells you charging state, voltages and current; Should also report temperature. Programming through the link is useful and well laid out. I can see where people without smart phones/desire to use technology will find this frustrating. I just wish there was more information. Would be nice if Victron had an output to drive a relay that was either temperature or output current based.
Great top quality product, obviously there are cheaper products but for a van set-up done at home these were easy enough to install and with the Bluetooth and ability to have all products on the Vioctron energy app, so far has been 5 stars
I'm happy so far. Delivery was very quick. Once I waded through the manual and switched off all the engine-on detection stuff, connected the D+ from the alternator and set the charge voltage for gel batteries the B2B worked a treat. The bluetooth allows me to see that it's all working well.
Got one of these chargers to charge a LIFEPO4 battery in my campervan.Works really well, and I received it the next day after ordering it , really good service.
