After having used a few other controllers and trying a Victron, I'll never switch back. The ability to analyze power generation through the app satisfies my geeky side. It also seems to capture more power than other controllers I've used. My only criticism would be the connectors / terminals aren't don't have the same quality feel as the rest of the unit.

Purchased this controller to hook up a 120W solar panel to the campervan and have been very impressed. The app which connects via bluetooth gives a good indication of the power being produced by the solar, and also how much current is being drawn by the load. It will also disconnect the load if the battery voltage drops too far to prevent a deep discharge of the battery. Only negative is the printed instructions which are so small they're not readable. Fortunately the manuals can be downloaded from the Victron website.

I bought two controllers, one for each 100 watt solar panel on my boat that lives at a mooring. They have worked flawlessly. I am obsessed with the VectronControl app. It is the first thing I check when I get to the boat to see how the solar panels are performing and their charging history. I have attached a Dometic portable fridge/freezer to one of the Load Outputs to keep drinks and food cold when we are away from the boat. The automatic shutoff works to stop the fridge from running down the batteries if we are without much sun for a few days.

If you are into the solar panels, you may need this solar charge controller. The controller has a solar panel connector or input, a battery connector , and the load connector, all complete separated from each other. . Take a look at the sketch. Anyway, the bluetooth works very well. By the way, get the controller with a bluetooth, very easy to monitor the controller, and upgrade the firmware if available. The bluetooth range is excellent. My personal weather station(PWS) has been up and running since I installed this controller without a glitch. As soon as the Sun set, the controller disconnect the battery from the solar panel, right in the morning when the Sun is up again, it reconnects the battery.
Installed in Transit van with 1 Renogy 100watt panel and 1 12v 208ah battery. Just did 2 weeks out west running fans , lots of led lights and usb chargers. Charger would get the battery up to 13 volts every day. We did a 4 day rafting overnight trip and I left the max air fan running the whole time we were on the river. The battery was completely topped off and the van was cool when I got to takeout on day 5.
I now have three of these units and believe they are good quality and work well. One unit will not talk witj my phone. The video by Victron on how to pair it , does not relate to my android phone and the screens move on too quickly to follow instructions. The suggested codes do not work. Now one controller is slowly blinking indicating a fault. Maybe it has failed and I am yet to determine if this is the case. The request for a PUK code is also a puzzle.
My use case for this is probably pretty unique. I use two 28 watt solar panels to charge 15AH battery that runs a depthfinder and also to keep other small electronics charged on a ten day remote camping trip where no other power sources are available. In the past I had a PWM charge controller. In good bright sun I could pull 2.0 to 2.3 amps with that PWM controller. With this Victron, I am now seeing 2.6 to 3.0 amps in full light conditions plus excellent amperage in lower light conditions also. Additionally, being able to control charge profiles and watch this all via bluetooth is just outstanding.
Pretty awesome little controller. It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be. And has good weight to it. The Bluetooth connection is pretty reliable and the info is great to have. The only complaint I have is the screw terminals are always so small and fussy on these things! When dealing with high voltage and high amp wires, I dont really want to fuss around. Maybe that's just me.
I have only bench tested so far but the improvement from MPPT is immediately evident in increasing charge to the battery. I am upgrading from a Steca PWM. The Bluetooth range seems adequate for our motorhome. The Steca gives a SOC readout which the VictronConnect app appears not to include. Lightweight, practical size with good quality screw connection.
I use this product with 120W portable solar panels. Panels wired in series to reduce voltage drop across long cable lengths to charge controller and 12v 100Ah FLA battery. Able to quickly track optimum PV voltage and current as advertised. Can achieve up to 110W from panels, typically 100W in direct sun according to the Victron Connect Android app. However app needs improving. Disconnects bluetooth connection and lose trend data whenever app is minimised. Total Wh data is preserved however. Otherwise a good product.
