I needed to do a last-minute interview, and the Rokinon cinema lens option was out of stock everywhere. Another Fuji user recommended me to try it. I was adamant because it looks cheap in the pic. But, it's solid and performs excellent, even with autofocus. If you use it for video, some of the complaints won't matter to you since you will be using a cropped picture. On an esthetic's note, Viltrox should change the golden lettering on the top; it cheapens the look.

I love the image quality... assuming you focus manually it's tack-sharp and has lovely bokek, and the micro-contrast is superb. Lots of 3-D depth and character, like a Zeiss. Unfortunately the AF misses most of the time on my Fuji X-T10. Oh sure, it gets a quick lock... but it's only locking on to the general background, not the subject in the focus box. I tried everything... forget it.. no dice. When focused manually the image is terrific however... and since that's what really counts I may still keep it... but be advised... the AF is worthless !

The lens works excellently with my X-T3 body! Focus fast and accurate. Eye/face AF works perfectly. Great picture quality. I also appreciate the lightweight despite its large aperture, and this is one key factor that makes me bring the lens everywhere. Highly recommended!

I think 33mm is a great street photo focal length. It's almost the human eye's field of view but kind of imperceptibly wider, so it's a weird feeling. I believe I get a lot of really great stuff photographing with this.
Initially I hesitated to purchase this lens due to its low price and consistent issues with purple fringing. Instead Viltrox did not disappoint with the 33mm f/1.4. It is relatively light weight with superb build quality for a 300 dollar lens. It takes high quality photo. This lens remains as my street photography lens and is a good budget friendly lens. Very happy with the product.
Overall, 3-stars for image quality, but adding a star for affordability.Good: lens performs great. autofocus is accurate, great sharpness, decent colors and contrast. Even works good for video-autofocus. Everything also works well in low light thanks to the extra stop.Bad: bokeh is so busy and unflattering. Bokeh in the center and mids are prone to heavy aberration that become busy, contrasted distractions. It looks like if you boosted Clarity but only in the out-of-focus areas. Bokeh on the edges look like smudges. edge bokeh also gets warped, I assume from poor corner performance. The Fujifilm 35mm f2 has much more soft and pleasing bokeh.Recommendation: For the first-time Fuji buyer that wants their first prime to go with their kit lens. In using this lens rather than the more expensive Fuji 33mm f1.4, I find this lens (Viltrox), quite capable for what I need it for. So far, very sharp. I am not concerned at all about bokeh, or soft corners etc... that so many of these newer photographers are concerned with. This is a great lens, and thankful to save myself over $500.
I was wanting a 50mm equivalent lens for my Fujifilm xt200 camera, but the official Fuji brand was $800! This lens was much cheaper, but I think its sharpness is still very nice. Construction feels solid. The autofocus could probably be a bit faster, but bokeh looks great. I like this lens.
I really wanted to give this lens higher marks, but my intended purpose was to shoot wide open and the color and contrast just doesnt pop. The images are sharp enough, the bokeh can be busy or pleasing depending on situation, the lens looks and feels great in the hand.I am between a rock and a hard place -- as the Fuji 35mm F1.4 is optically fantastic, but has terrible autofocus and is over twice the price. I have not tried the 35mm F2. Attached are some photos processed to taste. I added a butt load of saturation and contrast, but then struggle to maintain natural skin tones. At the end of the day, if you want a well built lens fast and sharp enough it could be the hot ticket. I however would rather spend more to get one that wows me. Purchased this lens based on many reviews online. For my Fuji x series cameras. And it lives up to its reputation very well built robust metal finish hood also. Quick auto focus sharp lives up to Fuji quality. Excellent bokeh. Only thing lacking is weather sealing. That said Im not one for much street photography in the rain. Although Im sure would be fine if used in light drizzle. Can highly recommend
