I definitely would prefer a clicked aperture ring, but it's stiff enough that it didn't get knocked around. I've only use it for one outing, but I'm liking the photos I get a lot. Initially I hesitated to purchase this lens due to its low price and consistent issues with purple fringing. Instead Viltrox did not disappoint with the 33mm f/1.4. It is relatively light weight with superb build quality for a 300 dollar lens. It takes high quality photo. This lens remains as my street photography lens and is a good budget friendly lens. Very happy with the product.

Even works good for video-autofocus. Everything also works well in low light thanks to the extra stop.Bad: bokeh is so busy and unflattering. Firstly - a great lens. I love it! I already own the Viltrox 23mm and love it as well. The build quality and size is perfect for my X-T4 and X-S10. Yes there's some CA in high contrast low aperture shots but easily fixed in post. Stop down a little and it's perfect. The 33mm is also tack sharp. I only shoot stills so the stepless aperture ring is a non-issue. I also own the 23 and 35 f2 Fuji's but I prefer to shoot with the Viltrox lenses. Just buy it!
1st price is excellent. Next, the lens is very sharp. Detail, DoF, Color, Contrast, and Aperture range are all quite good. Also, the size, weight, and build quality are very good. The only drawbacks to this lens that make it a 4- are (A) Aperture ghosting and (B) the noticeable softness overall at the ends of the aperture range. I can work around the softness by figuring out the sweet spots and using those apertures in this price range. BUT the weird polygon-shaped aperture ghosting at certain light angles - especially in high-contrast scenes (snow) makes me very cross! Like we say in Germany Uebung macht den meister. Now that I am aware of the ghosting I can be mindful of it. Otherwise a very good lens at the price point!
