I have been using this 48 ounce container for a little under five years and have managed to keep it in beautiful condition. I use mine at least twice very single day of the year. I have noticed some reviews for this product mention that it functions perfectly but is cloudy. Here is my method for keeping it in like new condition. #1: One second after I switch VM to off I immediately transfer the contents to a cup, bowl, glass (whatever is appropriate) #2: Within one second after transferring contents I add dish detergent to container & then fill it up with very hot water. #3: Then one second later I take a bottle brush with very soft bristles and thoroughly clean each and every section plus the bottom. I then put the container away & only then do I enjoy whatever it is that I created in the VM. Morale of the story is to immediatgely wash, rinse and dry ....this really works and keeps the container sparkling and super clean not to mention refreshing to look at!

I use my vitamix everyday but very disappointed with the plastic container. After a year or so it becomes stained and cloudy and looks just terrible. Honestly I'm ashamed to let it on my counter for others to see. Too bad it has a plastic blender jar that doesn't stay clear. And it's very expensive to replace. Also start/stop switch is broken already.

I just recently purchased a new Pro Series 750. Immediately I realized the included 2L container would provide much more capacity than needed so I purchased the .9 and 1.4L containers.The .9L container fits rather nicely on the base (inside the fingers) with just a little play as compared to the 2L. It has a quality feel to it, thick plastic, stable handle, fairly confident seal on the lid. The 48oz however has a lot of play and spins roughly 1/4" on the base when power is applied. Also, the plastic handle is thinner so it has a little play to it as well. It is designed to fit over top of the fingers on the base much like the 2L however the plastic base of the container is more a rounded square and overshoots the fingers on the motor baseI was hoping it would ... MoreI just recently purchased a new Pro Series 750.
