Also I've bought the large container which is great for family sized cream soups and such. However I also have acquired the converter container holder that screws the small 12 and even 8 oz cups onto it. These are good for smoothies and small batch salad dressings and other concoctions. For cashew cheeses and such I find the 64 oz container the most useful.

This blender really did reinvent my life! Better food, better homes, bonus rooms and all. We especially love the macaroni and cheese that he sent of his work. I loved it soo much I've gained some weight. Ah ha he really does like extra in the trunk.... the wedding score next door.
There are 2 different types of Vitamix XL, there is the XL 5201 which is a variable speed blender where the variable speed dial goes from one to ten, I own the Programmable Vitamix Xl 5202 with the program dial that goes from one to six to select the pre-set programs. I have this amazing and powerful blender which came with 6 pre-set programs and the beautiful thing is that it shuts off automatically when the program you selected ends. When I first received the blender, I really thought there was only one Vitamix XL so I was surprised at the speed at which it was going when I selected the first program. I thought there was something terrible wrong with the blender as it starts low and ramps to high in no time. This this is a beast and gets through everything. I've used this blender so much and have filled it to the max many times, and it does it with ease. I love using this monster! The only thing for vitamix is look into the rubber pad as over time it flexes a bit and could use some steadying. Also maybe do something with the clear cover over the controls kind of gets in the way when cleaning. This is nothing less than 5 stars though, just minor design changes would make it even better than it already is!

I bought this to be able to blend larger batches of nutmilk but it doesn't blend the the same consistency. Because I used it one it can't be returned and I'm out over $1700. total waste of money and I've very disappointed in vita-mix's customer service and in this investment.
