Great quality shoe, with great ground feel, and looks really slick. I bought it as a gym shoe, and it’ll function just fine for that. However I personally found it too big for running or much else. I typically buy a 43 for width in “normal shoes”, and have been buying 42.5 / 43 from Lems as I get into barefoot leaning shoes. For this knit shoe, I bought a 42 hearing it runs large, and I still feel like it’s too tall and long, but only having a barely adequate toe box. Overall, I’m still happy with the shoe for the gym

Shoe in general comfy and quality is impressive. Like the fact that its recycled. The top front section can become uncomfortable with the fabric bend digging into top of foot. Hope it softens up. (A friend who recommended me to Vivo said the same about the shoes made of this fabric. He is still in Vivos but another material.)

For casual wear it's great, the knit upper makes it super comfortable. Unfortunately as a "gym/exercise" shoe it loses many stars. The tread is the same as previous models, but the knit upper is far too stretchy. You lose all stability in sideways movements as the your foot slides inside the shoe and you end up standing half on the sole and half on the upper, this is caused by the upper having too much stretch and allowing your foot to move around inside the shoe no matter how tight you tie the shoelaces.Definitely not my favourite Vivobarefoot I've ever owned. Lesson learned and I'll be going back to the regular Primus Lite's.

Not only is there no such thing as the perfect shoe, but there’s also no such thing as the perfect kind of shoe. Members of the zero-drop/minimalist/barefoot shoe cult will try to push the narrative that these kinds of shoes will fix everything. This claim is as ill-advised as it is unrealistic. For many, foot immobilization via orthotics in an ultra-stabilized and cushioned running or walking shoe is the most therapeutic option for what’s ailing them. For others, it’s a shoe that will promote strengthening of muscles in the toes, feet, and ankles through natural movement. For this, Vivobarefoot is the best option. As far as barefoot shoes go, Vivobarefoot is the only brand I’ve ever been satisfied enough with to hold onto. Other brands I’ve tried I ended up returning. Here’s why. First, sole flexibility. Without enough of this, you don’t get the benefit of barefoot shoes. The benefit is in the muscle activation involved in your foot adapting to such free movement. With any kind of rigidity in the sole, this muscle activation is compromised. Second, the shape of the shoe. And it’s not just the wide toe box. Other barefoot shoes have wide toe boxes, too, which is an essential feature of a barefoot shoe, but beyond this is the importance of having the natural foot shape. Vivobarefoot nailed this. The shape combined with the glove-like fit of the upper part of the shoe really locks in that barefoot experience. Maybe sound a little like a shoe salesman here. Not the case. Here’s where I’m coming from: these shoes started me on the path to recovery from chronic posterior tendinitis, which I’d had for over two years. After being in a boot for a month from a posterior tibial tendon strain, followed by two years of basically immobilizing my feet by wearing orthotics in ultra-stabilized and cushioned running shoes when doing anything remotely active (which I have nothing bad to say about because, as mentioned, this kind of footwear serves an equally important purpose), I switched to using Vivobarefoots for my gym workouts when I noticed how much relief I was getting from doing animal flow and yoga movements barefoot at home. A couple months in, almost no more pain. That said, though, I don’t wear them all the time. If I go on a hike, I wear regular hiking boots. If I’m going on a long walk on hard concrete sidewalks, I wear shoes with some cushioning. There’s no universal solution, and too much of a good thing can quickly turn into a bad thing, but Vivobarefoots helped me recover from my injury, and I’ve gotta give it up for that. Finally, on a side note, I know this review probably won’t get posted because I’ve written numerous reviews for Huckberry (all of which had a levelheaded tone and were decently written) and I’m not sure if any of them have ever been posted. For how hard Huckberry pushes that good ol’, born-to-be-wild, free-as-bird, grab-life-by-the-cojones image, such odd censorship isn’t exactly on brand. Just a thought.
Been wearing vivos religiously for the last 4-5 years but had never been a huge fan of knit style shoes so I never tried these. Then one of my buddies got a pair and after trying them on i knew I needed some for myself. Super comfortable feels like you’re wearing a sock. Would definitely recommend sizing down 1 size! Other than that these shoes are perfect!
really comfortable and fun shoes, but they fall apart too easily and don't hold up. Their company talks a big game, but the product did not hold up. I thought i was buying a grade A top quality product, but i pretty much just got ripped off. i so badly want to love these shoes because they are comfortable and well designed, just don't hold up to the wear and tear.
Came in to the store because I wanted to support local business and was really happy with the purchase. However, after buying, I noticed that the Vivobarefoot website was selling the same pair for $60 less, which was a little disheartening. Obviously I want to support local business but makes it a little tough to do so when there’s such a big price discrepancy. Just take a gander online at prices before coming in.
I wear these shoes every chance I get. I wanted to get away from wearing shoes that squeeze my feet all day like vans and nike's, so naturally Vivobarefoot was the answer. I have worn my pair for almost a year and a half now every single day and they are still kicking. Build quality and comfort is unmatched. My toes have plenty of room to breathe and wiggle while feeling natural and not clunky. These shoes are on my feet at the office, gym, out to eat... really anywhere I go they go. Sizing is spot on. They do take a few wears to really break in, but once they do, they never come off I recommend these shoes to anyone who is looking for a HIGH QUALITY minimalist/barefoot shoe.
Beware. My second day wearing this, the sole started separating from the fabric. I called to return/exchange. They said since it was worn, I would have to go to manufacturer for warranty. VB told be they don’t honor warranty on third party sales. They said it was likely either stored improperly or a counterfeit. I called moosejaw/public back and told them this, they refused to help.I got a refund by filing a dispute with my credit card. Don’t let these companies push you around. You have a right to a return and refund when a product goes bad quickly. In any case, I will never show here again.
