I really enjoy this lens. I'm using it with Leica M1. Build quality is fantastic and focus ring is very smooth and easy to control. I normally shoot on F1.5 or 2.0, and I do get quite a bit of vignetting, but it's easy to remove on LR and I do like the look and feel.I might eventually get Summilux in a few years, but until then, I am sure I will stay happy with this.

Very nice lens. Sharp, but not clinical. I do wish there were a focus tab/stick/nub/etc.

Fantastic! shoot primarily film with this lens and couldn't be happier. It's good wide open and razor sharp stopped down to f/2 and beyond. Also ultra-compact, it's glued permanent to my Leica.

I have it mounted on the LEICA MP 0.72 black paint. Both look great with the black paint. Also, they are both brass based. This lens is look better than the standard Leica M-lenses for classic style body like LEICA MP 0.72. The price is reasonable and the quality is good enough for film cameras.
Normally shooting 24 / 35 / 75 (sold our 50 Lux & 90 Elmarit). Missed having a fast 50 lens, so we tried this one: recommended. Great colors: somewhere between the Lux and the 'Cron's too-vivid rendering. LH-6 lens hood works well.
I am thoroughly surprised by this lens' performance. I didn't appreciate it as much until 4 months after when I tested a new Summilux 50/1.4 ASPH. For everything except for LoCA, I prefer the CV 50/1.5 ASPH II.I used this lens initially on the M10M, but due to the body having a fault I had it exchanged for an M11. Fantastic lens. Focuses well and accurate. A little stiff to focus, but that will loosen up over time.Minor focus shift; Less than Zeiss Planar or Summicron but still enough to be annoying at times. Two niggles;I would love if Voigtlander allowed for user focus calibration. While mine is calibrated perfectly for f/1.5, it's an aperture I don't shoot at a lot. Making small enough shims for this lens is impossible where I live. With its little focus ... While mine is calibrated perfectly for f/1.5, it's an aperture I don't shoot at a lot. Making small enough shims for this lens is impossible where I live. With its little focus shift, I would rather calibrate it for f/2.8 which would serve me much better. Its also the second lens from Voigtlander where the machining of the lens mount locking pin recess was not de-burred properly. The edges were a little rough, and since this is a pretty exact cut out, my cameras locking pin did not lock at all. Only after I de-burred the edges of this cut out did it work perfectlyPersonally, I would love an all brass silver build like my Ultron 35/2 ASPH, but this is a no go for some due to the significant weight increase.
Superb lens, really quite sharp and comparable to the Leica Summilux F1.4 Aspherical for a fraction of the price. It is not quite the same, as it has no floating lens element for example, but the sharpness and character are excellent in the center where it matters. Wholeheartedly recommend it, unless you want to pay four times more -- this from someone who owns 80 lenses for the Leica M.
This lens is very sharp, although it does lose some of that at 1.5. The bokeh on this thing is fantastic, with a slight swirl like effect. The compact size of this thing for its brightness does lead to the aberrations that would not be in a Summilux, but that does not matter to me, as this is a great lens for a fraction of the cost of a marginally better Leica lens.
