With low distortion, it offers fantastic sound quality and sound reproduction. Perfect for studio and live situations, the CM400 delivers amazing results when recording vocals and acoustic instruments. With this condenser microphone, you can achieve an extremely precise reproduction of sound for neutral, lifelike recordings. It picks up even the smallest sound pressure levels, resulting in excellent sensitivity especially in the high frequency range. This microphone has a cardioid directional characteristic. This means it picks up sound best directly from the front. Sound coming from behind or from the sides is registered only minimally. In addition, this directional characteristic reduces annoying feedback.

If you wanting a condenser mic this isn't. It is however a very nicely packaged electret . I purchased this as a platform to build my own mic. Peter victoria

I brought this microphone due to the price and the budget. It isn't able to block out the background noise, but overall, the microphone is clear and slightly above average. It is not recommended to be used at professional setting, and I would say it is ideal for some home recording.

I compared this mic directly with a Rode NT-2A and an Audio Technica AT20202. It was little bit brighter than the the other two but not unusably so. At the price it is an absolute bargain and worth inverstigating yourself.

Cheap price with good vocal sound output. It picks up instrument sound though on live recording but if you're not meticulous this is a good mic for a good price for beginners.
Microphone had a very high quality. Upon usage it would block out any background and/or excess noise and is easily seen that it is a better microphone than any if the other microphones I have.
The stand came in with this microphone was black colour, plastic, nothing like the picture that shows on the website, the colour of the microphone was stainless, not silver, called and emailed, the "sales team" not even respond properly. I also called the NSW store, no one ever answered the phone. Will not recommend anyone to buy!
I wasn't expecting much from this mic but an audio engineer friend recommend I try it. It's a little brighter than my main studio condensers but very, very usable. An absolute bargain and worth trying yourself!
I put 5 stars because despite the flaw of the cable included, the microphone does a very good job.The microphone didn't provide the good cable (XLR to jack which is absurd since power supply supply is non standard, and sound card usually uses XLR as well...)But I knew this, so I bought along an XLR male to female cable. I strongly advice this microphone over the USB equivalent (Vonyx CM300) for those who intend to do music: an setup XLR setup with a sound card is much more flexible and standard for music production.
I bought this microphone mainly because the price was so low. I figured if it was of average performance I haven't blown a lot of money. I was pleasantly surprised this microphone is ideal for home recording and podcasting. Compared to my pro level mics it lacks a little bottom end and the highs can be brittle sounding, but with some careful EQ a flat response is easily obtained. It has quite high gain and is very sensitive, but again this is controlled by equalisation and gain controls. A pretty good buy for budget set-up.
