Let's start with the good: these are rugged, feel good in the hand, and are a good size for travel bins. Lens caps are great. For the not-so-good: Eye relief is a challenge, setting diopter is difficult, focus wheel is a bit too touchy, and the view from the left lens just does not get crisp.Eye relief may be an effect of the platform - compact with high magnification. I haven't tried others in this size so hard to say.Diopter wheel is very stiff, so twisting it while holding the bins stable is hard to do.The focus wheel is the opposite of the diopter - too free-moving, and with the magnification, it's easy to over-shoot focus. It's too easy to brush the wheel with your finger as well, changing focus away from where you want it.The last issue is the worst. ...Ā MoreLet's start with the good: these are rugged, feel good in the hand, and are a good size for travel bins. I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing or there's something wrong with the bins, but I cannot get a crisp image to my left eye. It's like there's glare or fog or something, and I can blur the image around the focal point but it never is as clear as the right side. I have a couple of pairs of larger bins (from other manufacturers) and do not have this issue.I don't use these all that often, they are for a specific purpose (compact/traveling), so these issues aren't deal-breakers for me, but if these were intended to be my primary bins, I would have sent them back and looked for a different pair.

I ordered these binoculars in 8x32 for my 5 year old son. I wanted something that could easily be replaced if he (or one of the younger ones) broke them without having to spend a huge amount at this stage. Vortex's warranty, the size of these, and the cost made these binoculars stand out. I wasn't expecting them to be the greatest but figured they'd be better than what he was using. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived. When comparing them with my Swarovski SLCs, they are not as good, but they are much closer than I would've expected them to be. Makes me wonder if I should really be spending as much as I have for binoculars. For the low cost of these, I would definitely recommend them. I also really enjoy the 8x32 size. Very nice for handholding and very compact. Only negative is that 8x makes it a little difficult to see exactly what I'm looking at for long distances. Testing these out, I was able to identify a tiny buck at about 800 yards, but overall I prefer 10x or 12x binos for myself.

I bought these in December for a Christmas present, along with another style for my husband. It actually took him until this spring to get them out of the box, as I got them so he had a pair to take out hunting with him. The carrying case is great and can be adjusted so it is comfortable around his neck. However, it seems they will not focus properly. We followed the instructions on how to focus them exactly and still they wonāt work. When looking through them we are seeing double vision. Too late to send them back to Cabelaās so hopefully Vortex can help with this problem.

Recently purchased these. Havenāt had them out in the rain yet, so canāt say how they do with fogging up in high humidity, but everything else about them I like. The clarity is excellent, especially considering the 32mm lenses. Field of View is not much less than with a full size. I wanted the 10x for glassing at longer distances on backpack hunts. Wanted something light. These are incredibly light. My mother has the 8x32 and they have a much greater FOV, and if I were buying these for still hunting in timber Iād choose the 8x, but I have not found a 10x this small and clear at this price in any other make or model of binocular. Gotta love the warranty too.
These binos are my first pair ever. I bought them recommended by a good friend of mine and I was not disappointed. The image is crisp and they pack very small and light. I take them out on the trails and keep them near my kitchen window and peek at the birds during breakfast everyday. Some of the best $$ I have ever spent.
I own and regularly use other higher-end optics. More and more, I purchase and use Vortex. These binoculars, though relatively less-expensive, are clearly on a par with more expensive ones I own. These will be my āgo-toāsā for hiking and predator hunting. Small and lightweight, they are clear and sharp. The only drawback is my wife likes them so much, Iāll have get her a pair nowš.
Diopter adjustment was froze, making me think it was in the box a long time, not a newly manufactured pair. Chatted w Vortex rep(He was excellent). Ended up with a light amount of lubricant(wax based) and pliers to get it turning! Hopefully it will remain operable? Should not have happened ever!. Only time will tell. Not Swarovski, but I expected more. Lifelong hunter and Cabelaās customer, 60 years plus
I'm surprised there is just two reviews for this bino as of this writing, because this is a high quality stunning pair of binoculars. I own many binos, some cheapos I've inherited and about 4 or 5 premium pairs for terrestrial and astronomy. I am a stickler on image quality & eye-relief. I just cant use cheap binoculars any more. Kind of like once you've had great coffee, you can't go back to the cheap brew anymore. So I've had my Vortex for a few days and I'm replacing a larger pair of 10x42 Fujis which are great but too heavy on hikes and on my bike. These 8x32 Vortex are really the ticket. They are light, optically stunning and just the right size around my neck or in a backpack. They're small enough to fit in one of my bike frame packs. These 8x32 Vortex are really the ticket. They are light, optically stunning and just the right size around my neck or in a backpack. They're small enough to fit in one of my bike frame packs. I've done some bird watching, animal watching, and taken in a baseball game before writing this review. I also compared these to a few other brands in the same size class. These are quickly going to become my go-to pair when I leave the house. There is one small complaint and that is the eye-relief is average (some binos are totally unusable wearing glasses, and some have such great eye-relief over 20mm that you can see everything with glasses and not be right on top the eyepiece). The thing is eye-relief seems to be a problem with almost every binocular brand in the 28-30mm range. This Vortex is adequate, you can use it with glasses, but you have to press in a bit to see the whole field of view. If you don't press in you can still see ok, just not the full black circle. Some may not like that. Trouble is there isnt much else in this size and price range that is better, maybe the Nikon Prostaff 10x30. (if you are looking for great eye-relief, start looking at binos in the 40mm objective lens and larger, then check the specifications, anything over 18mm is good eye-relief and over 20mm is really good). The other small issue is the right ocular ring is a bit tight. It moves, but it's not super easy. If you are familiar with binoculars the theory is once you set the binos up, you aren't supposed to need to move the right ocular focus again, you use the center focus from here on out because it's not adjusted to your eyes. I've found this is usually true with a couple exceptions (one being if you share the binos with a family member). But I'm not sure why Vortex makes it so tight (I have a cheap pair of Celestron Outland 10x42 I've given to my son with as his first pair of binos, they also have a tight right focus ring and that sucker has never ever loosened up).The provided case is the nicest small binocular case I have ever seen, it's durably thick yet lightweight, with a nice latch and inside pocket, it also has a belt opening on the back if you wanna mount it on your hip. These are lightweight, optically nearly as good as binos costing $1000 (yes, I tested against those side by side), and usable for eye-glass wearers. They are superb. With Vortex amazing warranty and quality I'm not sure how you go wrong with these. There is a big difference in view between the 8 power and 10 power in case anyone is wondering, and the 10 power are pretty easy for most people to hand-hold without camera shake, all this and about 15 ounces. If you wanna be just a little closer, go with the 10 power. There is also a tripod mounting hole on these.Great glasses, I'd certainly buy again.
Exceptional clarity. These field glasses are light and compact as advertised. Perfect for the bow hunter, but also perfect for glassing the hillside and fields. This is the set of binoculars I've been looking for. And, the warranty is outstanding. First time out I lost a lense cover taking a shortcut through the thick stuff. The customer service department at Vortex was superb. I highly recommend this product, or any Vortex optic.
Wonderful compact binoculars. They gather light well and the colors are true. Just an outstanding birding and general binocular. I bought this for my wife and she likes it too much to let me borrow it. I will likely get another for myself.
