I tried a few different binoculars in store and these were significantly better than the others at their price point. We got a pair of 8x32 and a pair of 8x42 Diamondback HDs for our trip to Alaska and I have to say I prefer the 8x32 even though my wife has already claimed them. They are significantly lighter and smaller with nearly the same optical quality as the 8x42s. We tried them in low light conditions and can hardly tell a difference between the two pairs. These will probably be our new every day binoculars that we bring on trips. Not to mention Vortex has a lifetime warranty. 10/10

I ordered these binoculars in 8x32 for my 5 year old son. I wanted something that could easily be replaced if he (or one of the younger ones) broke them without having to spend a huge amount at this stage. Vortex's warranty, the size of these, and the cost made these binoculars stand out. I wasn't expecting them to be the greatest but figured they'd be better than what he was using. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived. When comparing them with my Swarovski SLCs, they are not as good, but they are much closer than I would've expected them to be. I purchased the binoculars for an Alaskan cruise. B&H had a great price on them. They worked beautifully. Not too small but compact enough for my intended use. The glass was incredibly clear even in low light situations. They never fogged up and I had no problem using them even in the rain. One of the rubber eye cups came loose and I had no problem contacting Vortex and they immediately shipped out a replacement to me - excellent customer service.

I own and regularly use other higher-end optics. More and more, I purchase and use Vortex. These binoculars, though relatively less-expensive, are clearly on a par with more expensive ones I own. These will be my “go-to’s” for hiking and predator hunting. Small and lightweight, they are clear and sharp. The only drawback is my wife likes them so much, I’ll have get her a pair now😎.
Used on a 4-day safari and could not be happier. This is the perfect size and weight to pop in a day pack for a hike, where an 8x42 just seems a bit too heavy and big to carry around all day. Although the 8x42 I was considering (Athlon Midas) has slightly better optics, this is close. At no point did I feel a lack of clarity or light with the Vortex 8x32. At close to half the weight and price, this is a tremendous value.
Diopter adjustment was froze, making me think it was in the box a long time, not a newly manufactured pair. Chatted w Vortex rep(He was excellent). Ended up with a light amount of lubricant(wax based) and pliers to get it turning! Hopefully it will remain operable? Should not have happened ever!. After using these in the field for a couple of weeks I'm mostly pleased. They seem well made and are comfortable to use. Very bright and very wide field of view, considering how compact they are. Decent sharpness in center; considerably less sharp at the edges, but those edges are quite far off center since the field of view is so wide, so it's not a serious issue. Distortion is fairly low.HOWEVER - there is very noticeable color fringing, even close to center. Some people might not mind, but I find it quite annoying. Not bad enough to send them back, but enough that I can't recommend them very strongly. It's a pity - except for this one issue I really like them.
Exceptional clarity. These field glasses are light and compact as advertised. Perfect for the bow hunter, but also perfect for glassing the hillside and fields. This is the set of binoculars I've been looking for. And, the warranty is outstanding. First time out I lost a lense cover taking a shortcut through the thick stuff. The customer service department at Vortex was superb. I highly recommend this product, or any Vortex optic.

Was extremely impressed with this compact 8 x 32 Vortex diamondback hd. Clarity, brightness, field of view, were all really good, and would have made this the perfect bino for my hiking and birding. Unfortunately as a fulltime eyeglass wearer the eye relief on this unit was simply too short for me. I ended up with an Athlon Midas G2 8 x 42. However, I did like the Vortex so well i decided to keep it and give it to my daughter for her birthday. She loves it!
