I do not like the creepy filters this phone has on its camera app. Every single one that I have seen has been demented and just does not seem like its appropriate for young children to see themselves this way through any camera lense, much less on a phone camera thats specifically designed for toddlers. I wasn't in love with the idea of my five year old having a phone at all but it was a birthday gift so I gave it a chance but so far I'm not liking much about this thing at all. Kids have entirely too much screen time as it is and this has turned my toddler into a fun sized pre-teen with way too much attitude in less than a week!! If I see one more shady application I'm returning this thing

Cute phone. My daughter loves it. There are learning activities, take pictures and send chat messages to help get ready for a real phone in the future. Setting up was easy. For friends, parents and everyone you need to download the kidicom chat app to chat message. You need to create an account as well. It is free. Once the parent puts in an access code, the child can access the apps it has. The downfall of this device is that it may be slow and lagging a bit when playing the games or taking pictures and editing. The quality of picture is dull and not bright.

Annoying to use and the camera broke after a week.

It’s it extremely mediocre. It’s a pain to set up and EVERYTHING is password protected. I got it for my son to send messages to family but it constantly looses access to the internet and then requires that a parent enter the password to log back in to the internet and then again to the messaging app. It’s turned out to be a pain in my b****. My son liked taking photos but the camera broke after a week! It rarely gets used now.

Disappointed and upset!

I was very excited to purchase this product as it was supposed to work sort of like a phone, without actually being a phone. My kid doesn't like tablets, but he loves phones and I have been needing to find a way to remotely keep him organized, on schedule, make sure he's doing his chores, etc. I wanted a few phone features, but the big one was a basic clock that you could set several alarms for...you know, like you can on your "adult" phone. I was sorely disappointed. The "clock" on this thing only lets you program 1...ONE...alarm. I figured, no big, it allows outside apps to be downloaded from Amazon, I'll grab an app from there. Oh man, what a headache. I started fiddling with this thing at 9 PM, it's currently a quarter past 2 am, and I just discovered that this ... MoreI was very excited to purchase this product as it was supposed to work sort of like a phone, without actually being a phone. I was sorely disappointed. The "clock" on this thing only lets you program 1...ONE...alarm. I figured, no big, it allows outside apps to be downloaded from Amazon, I'll grab an app from there. Oh man, what a headache. I started fiddling with this thing at 9 PM, it's currently a quarter past 2 am, and I just discovered that this "child's phone" has no notification settings. You CANNOT set whether your child receives notifications from specific apps or not, so as a default it just doesn't. I love all the learning apps, the parental controls, and online safety features, but for the price and this device being advertised as a sorta-phone for kids ready to have one, but maybe not a "whole" one, I was expecting better. It's slow, the battery is crap, and other than a text feature (that any of the child's contacts have to download an extra app to use), it doesn't actually function at all like a phone. Even the camera feature is junk as a typical "phone" feature since you can't give any apps permission to use the camera other than the default apps that come already installed on the device. As it is, this thing wouldn't even really function as a small tablet. My child has bad adhd, and I mean bad. He's not ready for a regular phone (not to mention that he isn't old enough to have his own google account or anything like that and dealing with google parent controls is a nightmare in and of itself). I really need a device that has these types of parental controls that don't rely on a linked Google account, but actually functions as a phone does. I did research on this device, but apparently not thoroughly enough. To be fair, for a fairly young child (3-7 ish) then this device would probably be great. However, for my 11-year-old who is struggling to learn personal accountability and responsibility and occasionally needs a reminder or nudge, this was not the solution I was hoping it would be.

I first have to say the positive things. It charges really fast. Pretty durable and very easy to use for my little one. Has all the settings like a real phone without being an actual real phone. Takes pretty good pictures too! My child loves the game apps on it too. Pretty good for entertainmentNegatives I found are it's super bulky in little kids hands but durable nonetheless. Battery life is not very good. A couple hours at most (not playing on it constantly either in my experience) there is paid app that you have to subscribe to on there too (offered a shirt free trial) I did not try out. Also wish it had capabilities to at least download a video chat like kids messenger to video chat relatives. My kiddo didn't lile that she could not use her phone to call her ... MoreI first have to say the positive things. It charges really fast. Pretty durable and very easy to use for my little one. Like other reviews this phone does not hold an enough charge. The friends putting in their information even phone number was a joke because my daughter who is 7 knows that when you press a number it’s supposed to call NOTHING at least take out the friends feature there is no need plus if someone grabs her phone then strangers have other peoples information was NOT smart I am a parent and is technology savvy but this is so complicated even the parent controls I did give access to my daughter for the web and so far okay but I was trying to download pbs games and it was blocked I mean come on I don’t know how to navigate this thing I did put on where the phone won’t be accessible at night past midnight so let’s see if that is a good feature other than that I wish ... MoreLike other reviews this phone does not hold an enough charge. I got this for a little girl I keep often on her 8th birthday. All she wanted for her birthday was a phone. This was the closest thing I could find without having a monthly fee for service. It's not a phone but she can text me or anybody I approve and add to her phone. All she needs in internet access. She really doesn't text. It somehow works from email. I download the chat app to my phone and it works alot like texting. She doesn't realize but she is learning. I've showed her to start sentences with a capital letter and end with a period or question mark It is helping her to read %26 spell. I also bout her a little bag to keep her charger in. She is also learning responsibility. When I gave it to her, I explained how it had to be charged and that if she lost her ... MoreI got this for a little girl I keep often on her 8th birthday. This device is a scam all the way around!

Got this for my kiddo so they could message their grandparents and play educational games. 1. the description doesnt tell you the games are on a free trial basis. After a few months you have to pay. 2. The only outside app platform to download other apps is Amazon App store. 3. The volume and clarity for sound is terrible. we had it turned all the way up and couldnt make out anything. some birthday gift! No wonder its on clearance.

My little one was so excited when this KidiBuzz 3 by Vtech showed up on our doorstep. This device is amazing! It’s a combination of a phone and an iPad. It has a 5 inch HD touchscreen which is big but not too big for tiny hands. You can message, take videos and pictures, download a ton of games from the learning lodge and even connect to Wi-Fi for Internet access! Yes this even has Wi-Fi connection!! With 8 GB of storage you’re sure to never run out of space to download your kids favorite new learning game. As a parent I also love that there’s so much learning involved on this device. It’s not an iPad where they can just access anything anytime. If you were thinking about getting it, it’s definitely is worth the money!

This is a great phone to get if you're considering getting a phone for a kid. However one main caveat is that you will be limited with the phone use if you do not have an active Leapfrog membership. As with everything in todays day and age, every company tries to keep you in their spidered web hub. I do like the concept of parental control, as this makes it much easier to control your child phone use and offer them a safe experience. This offers a magnitude of games for your kid to learn - but again most require the subscription. Another great design is that it looks and feels like a real phone, but seems to be more durable of course. The camera on this is okay, do not expect the same quality as your latest iphone or samsung phone of course.
