We brought this to paint our shed. It’s a big shed so we hoped this would make the job quicker and easier and I am pleased to say it did. I also think it makes the paint go much further. It’s really satisfying to use. Cleaning is really easy - it all comes apart quite simply and I found it very easy to get it all completely clean which was good.A couple of pointers:You need a dust mask and goggles or glasses. It’s quite tricky to fill the paint pot. We had a huge 9L pot of paint and then had to somehow fill a small pot with a narrow neck. A funnel would have taken forever. We resorted to a small plastic tub and literally scooped the paint out with it - it worked just fine. The sprayer has obviously been tested on a right handed person. I am right handed but you inevitably swap from hand to hand as you work and your arm gets tired. When using your left hand there is a seam that’s in the way and just slowly scrapped all the skin off my thumb knuckle. Not serious but annoying.Whenn the sprayer runs out you have quite a lot of paint left in the pot - a bit annoying that they couldn’t have made the feeder straw just a bit longer!?All this aside though I would still recommend it. It’s a bargain price and really did work well. The shed looks great!

After spending about nine hours with a four inch fence brush to cover three quarters of my bottom fence ( it’s double boarded, twelve metres long and almost two metres high), and with another similar fence but twenty metres long still to go, I began to wish I hadn’t started at all. The thought of the amount of work left was of concern, so I started looking for something to make it easier. I read various reviews for different budget paint sprayers and the Wagner W100 had nothing worse than five and four star reviews on B&Q’s website, so decided to try one out. So pleased I did as this worked a treat. A piece that had taken three hours to paint with the brush was finished on the other side in just over an hour. It would have been quicker but I kept having to stop and move a protective cover to prevent any overspray coming through the other side. I used Cuprinol Ducksback which is quite thick and gloopy, but the instructions advised diluting by five to ten percent. I went with ten percent and it worked great. I had to refill the bottle three times but didn’t clean the sprayer out until I was finished. Cleaning was so easy as it all comes apart. Not sure how it would cope if trying to achieve a smoother finish for other applications, but highly recommended for rough sawn timber fences and sheds.

Cuprinol ducks back diluted (10% by eye)No clogs after about 2h of use. Deffinetly not the fastest sprayer out there but brilliant for fence and small diy jobs. Much better (imo) than brush and roller. About as loud as a hair dryer, ear plugs or headphones recomended while spraying. Little overspray as expected but nothing major.Picture from left to right, no coat, 1 coat, 2 coats (copse silver)

When I first used this product I similarly thought that it was a waste of money. However, I was determined to persevere so watched a few YouTube videos and practiced myself. Here are some tips. The best application is lots of very thin layers of paint, don't try to lay the paint on thick. The wheel near to the handle regulates the amount of paint that comes out of the machine. Try and keep this to a minimum i.e turn the wheel to the negative symbol so that the layer is thin. Test the paint on a piece of cardboard before you apply it to the thing you are painting. You can see how much paint is coming out and how it looks. Apply the paint in a regular upward and downward motion making sure each layer is next to the last one so you are not going over the same section. ... MoreWhen I first used this product I similarly thought that it was a waste of money. Apply the paint in a regular upward and downward motion making sure each layer is next to the last one so you are not going over the same section. When you get the hang of it, you will find that it does not take a long time to cover your fence etc. Also note that the machine is intended to paint wood and metal and not walls. Also note that the paint dries very quickly so you can go over it almost immediately in this way you can apply lots of thin layers in a short period of time. Remember, don't give up, keep practicing and you'll find that the machine works well. It would also get into nooks and crannies which a brush will not.
I've used a lot of commercial paint equipment in the past for spraying cars, truck, aircraft and for home use at £55 this is great.Expect a mess, it's spray. Mask/Cover up everything you don't want painted, and avoid windy days if outside as it's travels quite farIt's quick , easy to set up. It will deliver a lot of paint in a short time, have a play on something non crucial if your trying to get a more delicate finish as the finer detail and internal corners isn't something this machine does incredibly well Vs £400 automotive equipment. I found the minimum settings still deliver a lot of paint. The paint pot size is a good balance for the machines weight, and you will need to top it up frequently if doing a fence, and even more if trying to paint a ceiling as ... MoreI've used a lot of commercial paint equipment in the past for spraying cars, truck, aircraft and for home use at £55 this is great.Expect a mess, it's spray. Extension cord on hip almost!
I recently bought the Wagner paint sprayer following good reviews, as I had a very long garden fence that needed repainting. On a positive, this does the job much more quickly than with a brush, and my neighbours were impressed how quickly I painted the 10 panels. On the downside, I used a Cuprinol Ducksback which required significant dilution to spray. The result is thinner than by brush but a second coat takes no time. Adding water then stirring till smooth is a bit of an hassle, as the container is small so it needed refilling frequently, so 4* due to small container, otherwise a great tool. As a self employed decorator of some 20 years plus I was asked to quote on painting over 20 fence panels with cuprinol. Each were 6ft in width. I have to tell you guys and girls that I easily had them done in a day after buying this item! I was amazed at how fine AND EVEN the spray was even allowing me to spray the trellis work above without painting half the adjoining garden! I did read the reviews on here about the ronseal and other pump up items and that didn't fill me with much confidence. I am so pleased I bought this as it will stand me in good stead should I need it again. I did read the reviews on here about the ronseal and other pump up items and that didn't fill me with much confidence. I am so pleased I bought this as it will stand me in good stead should I need it again. A couple of things spring to mind. 1 Dependant on the type of fence treatment you are applying don't be shy about giving the spray mechanism a good clean between a couple of panels as this is just par for the course and certainly in warm weather the paint/stain etc will go off pretty quickly and need cleaning. 2 The spray flow is completely and easily adaptable to the speed you want to work at, how ever I found the full setting comfortable to use. 3 The item is really well made and feels comfortable to use and will make you grin while you use it as it is effortless. "You may even enjoy doing it!" The one thing which in consideration of the price of the sprayer is so minimal however I would love to see altered is the length of the electric lead that obviously needs plugging in to an extention. I am over 6 ft tall and given the height of an average fence panel spraying at head height across the entire panel resulted in me having to move cables and plugs around a bit but hey who cares when you're getting results like this. Full stars from me and please don't consider the cheaper alternatives as you will just end up needing to buy another one a few years from now. Oh just as an aside personally I have no fence panels in my garden as I live in Gloucestershire and they're all dry stone walls! Still chuffed I have it though. Hope that helps. Phweeew!
Bought this this morning - I was weighing up the others, fancier ones etc, but chose this. (my son had already given me the heads up that the Wagner range was the way to go as apparently lots of professionals use Wagner and they have tried them all). Anyway, poured in the paint, secured lid and off we went - painted 3 trellis ebony black - Ronseal - awesome. Such an easy piece of kit to use and clean afterwards. Recommend 5* and you a little bit of - ooo thats good as your spraying.
Brought this today after reading the reviews so I brought it. Worst thing I ever did. Doesn't do what it suppose to do. The spray setting didn't change. When it started spraying it came out in clumps and the paint just went everywhere so now got paint all over the gravel boards even tho I got masking tape on them. Not very easy to clean aswell please save your money. Will just use paint brush from now om.
In bought this yesterday to spray a new fence which is 150ft long and which would have taken days with a brush. Its quicker than using a brush but incredibly messy as the spray goes everywhere. I adjusted the nozzle and the pressure but it made little difference and I ended up with fence stain all over my concrete gravel boards and brickwork. I tried reducing the pressure of the spray but this has meant that my fence is patchy and I will have to go over it with a brush anyway. If you want to brighten up a tired fence and don't mind the mess its quick to use. But for a confined area, or for trellis or gate posts the spray is just too wide and you would have to cover everything with plastic sheeting to avoid spraying the surroundings. The electric flex is far too ... MoreIn bought this yesterday to spray a new fence which is 150ft long and which would have taken days with a brush. The reservoir doesn't hold enough and has to be filled with a jug, which just gets fence stain over the actual sprayer, over your hands and your clothing. Be warned!
