I'm the designated groomer in the house, for all my pets, human and animal. I definitely don't recommend using this on animals! As far as the men in my life, this set works great for the first couple of months, but the clipper itself falls apart after that. It's cheap enough to replace, but I wouldn't buy it again. The blades didn't stay aligned and ended up pulling out as much hair as it cut.

I’m pretty sure I reviewed this before but here goes, quality has gone down through the years but the performance is still there. You get a reliable motor and sharp enough blades for a very economical price. You a dude that just does sides and tops? You got little dudes and they need shaved? For men and boys alike (or whatever you feel comfortable identifying as), if you’re looking for clippers, you won’t need to go farther than these.

Better than the rest

This is my review for the Wahl model CMA. I purchased this from Myer online and at $34.95 this is quality. This is the best hair clippers I've ever owned. It's stronger because it has a larger durable, long lasting motor. Wahl has the power and strength to cut through hair and leaves all the other brands I've tried behind. The blades are self sharpening for a smooth cut. Although this model is rated at only 9 Watts it has more than enough power to do the job. At that price you get an entire hair cutting kit and it includes a smaller clippers (battery operated). I recommend it.

Don't waste your money

Only used once. Clippers are terrible. Get so hot you have to stop half way through and the actual cut is bad. Have a $20 pair that does a much better job in half the time. Called the shaver shop to see if i could send them back and was told to find a shop and they will try and fix. Defeats the purpose of buying online and i have to drop them off at the shop and go back to pick them up. Crap product. Going in the bin.

One particular group of reasons is for the fact that as I am over 60 now, I have a reasonable amount of thinning hair on the top of my head, while the sides are still growing like crazy. I like a little extra length on the top (for sun protection?), and the sides to be kept relatively short. One side has what one stylist described as the cowlick syndrome so the hair doesnt really want to lay down all that well in that area. I think everybody has them in different areas. And there-in lies the problem, and why I want it short. Over the years, I have always gone to one of the unisex hair styling franchises.It mostly seemed that, even though I would complain that they were leaving the sides too long, they would refuse to really get down to the length I liked, excusing that refusal by blaming the cowlick syndrome. Occasionally, a stylist would get it perfect, and then I would never see them again at the store. The Math = $14 cut + $4 tip = Less than perfect haircut. Anyway I chose this clipper set because, A) It is made by Wahl. I currently have, or have had, several of their products over the years, Beard trimmers, and that set of hair clippers mentioned earlier. Other than the expected rechargeable battery failures, none of the clippers have ever really let me down. B) This set has several length guides, perfect for my need. Also the needed maintenance items, oil, and such. C) The price is really reasonable. If I'm successful doing this, it can pay for itself in about 2 or 3 months. D) This set has a good set of guides, comb, and maintenance items such as oil and brush, not to forget the case. It is corded so it's powered on demand, once you plug it in. Once I watched a lot of You-Tube how to videos, and read some of the available internet instructions, I felt comfortable enough to do the deed on my own. There are some extra items you may want to get. A Barbers cape, a couple of mirrors, (one in front and one behind you so you can see the back of your head), and a lot of patience as you cannot rush this task if you want to do it right. If possible, you might want to be outside as clean-up is a lot easier. Use front to back strokes on the top and upward directions on the back and sides. Start with the longest guide and work down until you get the length you want. Blending is the key, I started on the top using the longest guide first, hardly anything came off, so I think the length was good right from the start. Next, I started on the sides using medium length # 4, although you may want to start with a higher number. I took continuous strokes almost to the top while gradually pulling the clipper away from my scalp as it moved upward near the top. Try to do the same technique on the back. I eventually lowered the guide length until I got down to # 2. A little more blending work between the top and sides till I was happy with the result. Be patient, I cant stress that enough. Using that big clipper without a guide to trim around my ears, kind of intimidated me, so I used one of my cordless beard trimmers without a guide. That worked really well. You may want to use that tool for your neck line as well. Remember, by looking through two mirrors to see the back of your head, movements of the clipper might appear different than the way it feels its moving, so be careful. I tried to concentrate on the feeling more than the image. Overall, I was really, really amazed at result. If you doing someone else's hair, you should be more than happy with this set.

This pet grooming clipper is the best I have ever owned. Light weight easy to hold for long periods of time. I used this on a big dog with a thick matted coat. It was quiet, never pulled the hair. It saved me sooooo much money my grooming her at home. The cost of 2 grooming paid for the clipper and my dog was more comfortable with me doing the clipping. My friend actually said my job was better than the professional groomers! I read many reviews and had a friend who groomer her own pets pick this for my thick coated dog. Honestly fantastic for the price!

I never review stuff online, but I came back 2 years after purchase to recommend this product, it's only fair given how well it's served me. I bought this 2 years ago in April 2020 as with lockdown we couldn't get the the barber. We'd never cut hair before, but this set is easy to use and quickly got the hang of it. 3 people in my family have been using it ever since, every roughly 4-6 weeks, I haven't been to an actual barber since, even after lockdown finished! I've saved hundreds of dollars in haircuts now we can do them at home. I was surprised given the price how well it's lasted and how sturdy and quality it feels in the hand, all components still working as well as they did at the start.Highly recommended!

It Works

Performs as intended. Easy to use. A bit loud. Bought it because it is one of the only few clippers that has the left and right side taper guards included as accessory. I didn't compare measurements but I thought it was the larger size clipper but it's not. Not as small as a trimmer. I don't understand why all the clippers do not have it. I admit to being old school but I also wish they would bring back the guard attachment that attaches by the 2 metal side snaps and not the bottom plastic snap. The metal clips provide a more secure attachment. Manufacturing things always end up changing because of the cost but the quality suffers.

Not worth the trouble.

Quality: I’ve seen better quality in a showbag. The beard trimmer is a joke. Powered by two AA batteries (not included) it quite simply doesn’t work. The clippers chewed on my hair rather than cut. Ouch!Honestly, don’t waste your time.

Super Duper Heavy Duty

I feel like I just bought a Barber Shop Station. This is a very heavy duty clipper made just like the old days and built to last and very durable. It has a power adjustment screw and thick steel blades. They included oil for the blades, 10 different attachment combs for hair Trimming & Shaving, eye brow, & Left & Right behind the ear, plus 2 regular hair combs & scissors for hair cutting. Also comes with a little brush to clean the hair out of the clipper, all in a plastic kit box to store in. The plug-in clipper is a lot heavier than my little cordless Norelco G370 trimmer, but I don't have to recharge it. And is sure to last at least 10-15 yrs. The scissors cut for trimming, but are not professional like the clipper is. This plug-in clipper has 9 watts of power where as my cordless Norelco G370 has 2 watts. I would say this weighs just under a pound where my Norelco Cordless G370 is feather light. Big weight difference. I would buy this again.
