Absolutely outstanding. I wish more products were so well designed, built, packaged, and functional. I have absolutely zero complaints and I'm 100% satisfied. A couple of the YouTube reviews show the rear tire bouncing and one reviewer mentioned it as a problem. Pump the tire up to the same pressure you would ride it on the road and there is no bouncing. I am 160 pounds and ride a tubeless 25mm Continental at 100 psi and I get a very realistic ride. The ROLLR easily linked to my sensors and my laptop running SYSTM and RGT. I use a TICKR and a 4iiii power meter and a Coros Pace2 watch and all work together very well - I even used my ELEMNT once to see if the numbers were different and all agreed (and all connected simultaneously, which amazes me). This is not a trainer you are going to feel comfortable sprinting at a frame-twisting 1200 watts, but that is not what I was looking for. I was looking for a cold weather and rainy weather indoor training solution and ramping to 900 watts for short bursts is just fine as long as you are smooth. The ease of pulling the bike off for a ride outside is the big win - 5 seconds off, 5 seconds back on the next time it rains. Couldn't be happier.

ALMOST a slam dunk! This is the first trainer I've owned and it almost delivers on everything. Positive? I can put my bike on the trainer without taking off my rear tire or changing my rear skewer for a wheel-on trainer. That's why I never purchased a trainer until now. I didn't want the hassle. You also get to use all the software products that simulate terrain so you can ride virtually. Really cool. Negative? When you get out of the saddle to sprint or climb, you lose resistance because you're not putting the necessary weight down on the rollers to maintain the resistance. You start freewheeling which forces you to sit back down. Also, if you're climbing, even though the software may say 15% gradient, this only simulates 10% so you're capped. Lastly, my rear tire ... MoreALMOST a slam dunk! This is the first trainer I've owned and it almost delivers on everything. Positive? All-in-all, if you don't want to take off your wheels or mess with the training tires and such, this may still be a good option for you if you just want to sit in the saddle and get in some base miles. If you like sprinting or climbing, I'd consider something else.

I was in the market for a turbo trainer following my purchase of an Orbea road bike from Sigma. I spent numerous hours researching whether to buy the Kickr Rollr or Kickr V5 and very nearly went with the V5. I’m so glad I didn’t though… For context I have a fairly large garage, not huge by any means but large enough to house some gym equipment etc. and I wanted a way to use my bike for cardio. The fact that the Rollr is so simple to set up is by far the best thing about it - simply lift your bike in, clamp the front wheel and you’re off. Ride feel is great as the back wheel sways with your weight as opposed to being fixed like on a traditional turbo trainer. I’d note that I currently don’t have a power meter (which is required to use all the features of the Rollr) ... MoreI was in the market for a turbo trainer following my purchase of an Orbea road bike from Sigma. I am an experienced cyclist, age 64 yrs, having ridden and raced road, gravel and MTB. I've ridden various trainers, and happen to like the feel of rollers. The KICKR ROLLER is a well made machine and performs its intended function very well. A few things that users must accept are: (1.) Good quality (i.e. soft compound) road tyres will wear out due to high heat and friction. The rubber will melt onto the roller, and also stones and other loose material will then stick to your tyre. So, you can't just switch between road and trainer. You need a roller-specific wheel to use, with a hard-compound tyre. So, the supposed advantage over other trainers that require you to remove the rear wheel evaporates to nothing. (2.) The rubber will melt onto the roller, and also stones and other loose material will then stick to your tyre. So, you can't just switch between road and trainer. You need a roller-specific wheel to use, with a hard-compound tyre. So, the supposed advantage over other trainers that require you to remove the rear wheel evaporates to nothing. (2.) On the trainer, the bike sits a few inches off the floor. It is OK to mount by clipping in and swinging your leg over, but after a long hard workout, dismounting is not so easy, considering the risk of cleats slipping on a tiled floor. I set up a solid 6 inch high block of wood on the floor next to my pedals and I dismount onto that. (3.) The ride is nothing like actual rollers because the front wheel is locked in place. The bike does not drift, nor does it sway. It stays in a fixed position, like other trainers. (4.) Standing on the pedals for a while is straightforward, but reseating yourself is not. Standing shifts your weight and changes the resistance of the rollers (for the same power). When sitting back on the saddle, it is hard to avoid a friction burn on the tyre when your weight goes back on the rollers. I am getting better at smoothing the transition, but it takes a bit of practice and good core strength, i.e. you can't just plonk yourself back on the saddle like you would on the road. (5.) The trainer is not easy to move around, mainly because the area where the two parts of the trainer slide together is not strong enough to take the weight of the trainer. Some small wheels on the back of the trainer that meet the floor when you lift up the front of the trainer might be a good addition, if this can be engineered.
When I first saw the Rollr, I thought wow, it would be great to not have to pull my rear wheel off to attach the bike to my current trainer. Then I thought, the natural movement would be nice rather than the static position on my current trainer. Then I thought, my power would be consistent across indoor and outdoor rides because it's the same power meter I have on my bike. But then I read some if the initial reviews and I had some reservations. Mostly, there were concerns about power when there was a need to really push a lot of watts, such as in a race. Or when standing up, such as in a sprint (in a race). Or power consistency when using ERG mode. But when I thought about it, most of these things didn't really apply to the way I use my trainer. Or when standing up, such as in a sprint (in a race). Or power consistency when using ERG mode. But when I thought about it, most of these things didn't really apply to the way I use my trainer. I kinda get the point about the power consistency when riding in ERG mode but it's not a major issue to me in use. I think it all just depends on what you want out of a smart trainer. Ultimately, the more natural feel of the Rollr is way more important to me on a virtual group ride than sprinting in a virtual race. But that my use case. So the bottom line is that it's been great for me and I don't regret the purchase.
I watched a lot if the review videos and the bottom line for me was - "I wanted a trainer that I could put my bike on and ride." I am so glad I purchased this rollr/trainer! Super easy to sync, great feel, power meter reads as expected. The reviews talk about how "loud" it is, DO Not let this discourage you, it isn’t much louder and the benefits I believe outweigh an difference in how loud its. I can also put my cyclocross bike on for a different workout/ride experience. If you like me, hate switching out wheels to "trainer wheel" or just taking of back tire to mount with caset and skewer. Then give it a try, I doubt you will be disappointed. PS - I had a 4iii power meter installed on my Crankset and it works great! Don't let this be a reason to not get this trainer.
The Rollr is what everyone says it is. It comes in 2 pieces and takes no time to put together. It is extremely well made, solid, and a joy to use. Putting the bike on and taking it off takes no time. Not having to take the rear wheel off, deal with a messy chain, get grease on your hands (and then repeating all that to ride the bike off the trainer) are truly great. I can use my road bike (not some poor alternative bike) to train on and to ride. It also connected to my Garmin power meters right away, and to both Rouvy and Zwift with no issues. I let cadence and power go through the Rollr and only connected my heartrate monitor to the workout apps. I let cadence and power go through the Rollr and only connected my heartrate monitor to the workout apps. One setup matter to be aware of that takes more than 10 seconds is lining up the rollers and the front wheel well so that the tires sit evenly in both locations, with full contact. This takes some fiddling around, but once set, it’s done. The one issue to be wary of is also why I gave it 4 stars. It’s really not the fault of the Rollr, but rollers create more natural resistance than hooking a chain to a flywheel does on other trainers. The result is that there is no easy coasting here. You’re at around120 power just riding on flat terrain on a low gear. So it’s always a real workout on the Rollr.
I've had this trainer for about three weeks now and use it every other day. It's super easy to set up and I like that my bicycle can be mounted or removed literally in seconds. The unit is very well made. It is sturdy and has a solid feel. Given it's size, it is a heavy piece of equipment and will be difficult to move despite that it comes in two parts. Still, that gives it it's solid feel and I don't have to move it anyway. What I have noticed is that the front wheel locking mechanism tends to back off during a ride loosening the front wheel. Once I realized this it was just a matter of keeping an eye on it and snugging the locking wheel back down. I use Zwift and I've noticed that there is some latency between the trainer and what I'm doing in the program. I'm not sure which is the cause, the trainer or the program - perhaps it's just the way it is with all setups. The latency is only noticeable when starting or ending a ride. Once in the ride it is not an issue. I would highly recommend this trainer for anyone who doesn't want to remove their back wheel to train. My bike uses a 12- speed Campagnolo setup and none of the directount trainers seem to accommodate that. For this reason , the Kickr Rollr works perfectly.
I came to purchase the ROLLR via a convoluted route. I originally purchased a KICKR only to discover that it is incompatible with my bicycle. Just when I had given up on finding a smart trainer that would work, the ROLLR hit the market. Since I already have power measuring pedals, absence of this function from the trainer is of no consequence. Setup if the ROLLR is ridiculously simple - it took me longer to dispatch the box and packing materials than it did to set it up. The ROLLR very well built and extremely stable during use. (In fact, this characteristic has helped me to improve my cadence holds, so perhaps this is a benefit in disguise.) My motive for buying a trainer was to get out in front of getting in shape for summer rides and to get a jump on training for a century ride in July. Since our spring weather has been dreadfully wet and cold - too rotten for me to ride - my purchase makes me look like a genius.
Tire ruined after 2 miles of riding. I had assumed it was due to the way I set the kickr up until support confirmed the wear is EXPECTED with the tires used. Would be nice for kickr provide list of tires that won’t have significant wear over time. Returned the product and will not buy a wahoo product in future. No offer to replace my tire though I didn’t ask.
