This is a fantastic product to use. Applied this to my new dining room table I built and this was the perfect product to apply! Super happy with the results especially considering everything is food safe!

I'm a newbie when it comes to treating wood and am very grateful for the guidance from the Walrus Oil (WO) people. This oil leaves a beautiful natural finish, enhances the wood, in this case birch, was very easy to use, easy instructions, and easy cleanup. I had a lot of counter top to buff so I took the suggestion and bought an electric buffer. Really helped. I do think it's OK for those of us in Northern Nevada to use extra oil, it soaked in and dried fast. I do have (lots) of pictures since this was my first project.

I Recently sanded the floors in my 100+ year apartment and wanted a natural finish, after some research I found this - and no joke I want to put it on everything. It smells amazing, is silky smooth, and wipes on beautifully. After just one week of curing the floors have made the room so beautiful, warm, and cozy I don't want to put rugs or furniture back! I've already used it on several other pieces in my house and from now on I'll always have a bottle on hand. The shipping was incredibly fast which I wasn't expecting since I didn't pay for extra - as it turns out I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it's all made in my state! I can't wait to try more of their products.

I have not used this yet. However I am impressed with how quickly the product arrived and note from the company in my shipment. I am exploring new ways of finishing my woodworking projects & appreciate their willingness to answer any questions. You don’t find that level of customer service much anymore.
First I have to say I E-Mailed the Co. so I knew what product I needed for my butcher block counter tops. They were very helpful. I also watched a few youtubes. I had put min oil mixed with beeswax the first time and it was about time to put a new coating on my counters. I didn't like with the beeswax that it didn't really cure all the way and if I set a pc. of paper on the counter it would get a greasy looking. The first thing I was asked was what grit sandpaper did I use. I re-sanded starting with a 220 but the beeswax gunked (I think that is a word) up the sandpaper so I used a 120 to start and then finished with a 220. The counters are nice and smooth. On a Sat I put down my first and only coat. Water doesn't get on this section so I figure 1 coat is good for ... On a Sat I put down my first and only coat. Water doesn't get on this section so I figure 1 coat is good for that area. I have 2 more sections to go. It did take 4 days till I couldn't smell it any more. I did put on a heavy coat and rubbed it in with a genealogy glove. Day 2 I smoothed out the wet areas. Day 3 I took a picture and used the buffing pads. Day 4 I just toughed it to see if it felt day. I did say to dear husband, Can you smell it?? Some place it was said that it will have no smell when it was cure. It did take 4-5 days here in WI (Oct 2023) for it to have no smell. Dear husband put the microwave back on the counter. I am very happy. It takes some time but so far I am very happy. I will send pictures when the job is 100% done. It does take a while to dry but worth it. I am planning how I can do around the sink area. It is only me and dear husband so we could grill for 5 days and use paper plates. Would I choose this and do it again?? Yes I am very happy with the product. I did not mix this with any thing. I wish I would of used this product when we first installed the countertops.
There are many "how-to" pages on the Internet concerning the application of tung oil to wood floors. The advice usually boils down to four points: (1) sand your floors before applying the tung oil; (2) dilute the oil for better penetration; (3) apply several thin coats; and (4) after each coat, quickly wipe off any excess oil that does not get absorbed. I recently applied tung oil to the wood floors in my 100-year-old house, ignoring all of that advice. (1) I did not sand, because this was far too much work and old floors can and should, I feel, show their age; (2) I used the oil undiluted, (3) applying just one generous coat; and (4) I allowed the oil to sit for five days before wiping it off. Now to the result: in a word, very satisfying. As was to be expected, ... MoreThere are many "how-to" pages on the Internet concerning the application of tung oil to wood floors. Now to the result: in a word, very satisfying. As was to be expected, the oil soaked in unevenly. In some very worn places, it disappeared entirely, while in lesser used spaces or rooms, much less was absorbed. But this in no way distracts from the overall appearance. For someone very picky who is looking for a pristine floor, what I have done will probably not work. However, if you are aiming for a (gorgeous) antique look, you may wish to try my simplified method.
First use was on a lathe bowl project.Easy to apply, wipe off, left woods naturalgrain to shine. Will continue to support and use Walrus Oil product.
I have been using the original Walrus oil for years now and was excited to try this new product. I am totally blown away by the result. Smells like aromatherapy, while it creates a deep nourishing blanket over and into the wood that lifts it’s character and brilliance while maintaining a natural look and feel...not like the encased fake look and feel of resin and urethane finishes. As a side note, I have an autoimmune disease where my immune system is so hyperactive VOCs reduce me to a snotty mess, migraines occasionally rashes even with appropriate PPE...so this product is an absolute godsend to anyone with similar issues or sensitive family members.THANK YOU WALRUS OIL!!!
I saw Walrus Oil post about this new product on Instagram and I bought the day it became available. I’ve used Odie’s and Osmo before this and after finishing many pieces with this bottle I won’t be going back to them. This product gives me such a nice easy finish and I love the durability It provides. This will be my default finish from now on.
We are using this on a giant wood crocodile at the Alligator Farm. It was brought back from Indonesia and is a one of a kind. Several thousand pounds and made from a single piece of wood. It really made a difference in the appearance.
