Absolute waste of money. Will let you down.

Terrible Build quality. Broken on first use. Housing split and leaking water (only noticed because low water pressure and I pulled it 3/4 out of the water while it was on)... I’ve owned a few of these and they are a disposable junk item, every. Single. One. Has failed…. The motor will be seized the next time you use it. Junk like this undermines BCF reputation. Steer clear and try ANY of the many other showers available to buy online. And BCF. Stop selling this junk for Christ sake. Stock quality items or I’ll just keep going to Amazon and eBay.

Doesn't last very long before it dies

First one lasted 2 trips before the pump rotor cracked so it stopped working - power on and it was running but water couldn't be lifted into the hose.Got a refund and replacement. On its second trip, it won't even turn on - completely dead. Will return this.

Felt cheap and had multiple leaks

I bought this to take camping to shower my 6 yo. Firstly the bag is too small and you get maybe 30 secs of flow so I ended up using a bucket. But! The main problem was with the shower head... as soon as I turned it on it was leaking everywhere, from the base screw connector of the head and from both sides of the min/max water flow adjuster pin... trying to wash my boy I got just as wet myself. It was a cold night and I had to get my son clothed again as quickly as possible so I just put up with it. Feels cheap too. Think it retails at $39.90... should be more like $17.90. I returned this for a gull refund.

Good value, but you will have to tinker with it.

Poor quality switch and 12 volt connector. Upgrade for a couple of dollars from the local Tandy / Jaycar electronics. It is what it is and is a good little pump, upgrade the electronics for better use.The spout gets clogged easily and will restrict water flow - don't complain about it just unsrew the cap and give a good clean when the spout loses pressure. For $40 it serves a purpose and is worth the hassle for a cost effective solution for showering. Have been usign it for a family of 7 whilst doing bathroom renovations. Use a bucket of warm / hot water and the shower lasts as long as the water and battery.I do recommend if you are able and willing to upgrade the switch and 12 volt cigerette lighter connections. If not - purchase all the other products - I ... MorePoor quality switch and 12 volt connector. Upgrade for a couple of dollars from the local Tandy / Jaycar electronics. Great Shower

Great little efficient shower. The pump runs very quiet. All you need is a bucket of hot water, stick the pump in and you get a nice shower out of your cars 12V battery. Clever and useful kit.

Great, little unit

Gives me a 3 minute shower from a bucket of water with constant flow...longer if I turn it off at the head while soaping up, as the head and power button gives two options to have flow. The device needs to be stored with the suction cup not touching anything or it warps a little and makes it hard to stick to a surface...not recommended to store in its storage bag...I have the device in the bucket.

Utter crap. Don’t buy. Wish I listened to the guy behind the counter when he said “Jury is still out on these”. Used one night only. Never again. Landfill quality.

Now onto my 2nd one of these - first one died after 6 months / 3-4 uses
6 April 2016

The first one of these I purchased died after about 6 months where it had only been used on 3 or 4 short camping trips. I think the plastic shaft inside the pump broke as you could hear the pump running but no water was coming out of the shower end. I checked the filter and it was clear and I could see the impeller on one side of the shaft spinning, so assumed the shaft had snapped (most likely plastic). I suspect this happens when you leave the pump running but switch the shower head off which puts the pump under too much pressure and breaks the shaft.I'm now onto my second one as it was replaced under warranty so will be avoiding switching the water flow off at the shower head and just use the button to switch off the pump.Apart from that it is really handy ... MoreThe first one of these I purchased died after about 6 months where it had only been used on 3 or 4 short camping trips. Quite good
27 March 2022

I bought the Wanderer 12v shower to test if it would perform better than our 12v Companion shower. I had two issues with the Companion product; the pump was too fat, and the switch mechanism to turn on/off the showered. The submersible pump was too fat to fit through even a large a Jerry Can lid (those 22L brown ones from SuperCheapAuto), which meant that I had to pack a collapsible bucket, and pour water into it before using the shower. The pump needs to stay submerged at all times, so you need a higher water level in the bucket than you are actually going to use for a shower when trying to be water efficient. Rinse, Soap up, Rinse. The switch mechanism was also quite difficult - very, very, very very stiff; which meant that you can't easily turn the water on/off ... MoreI bought the Wanderer 12v shower to test if it would perform better than our 12v Companion shower. The pump needs to stay submerged at all times, so you need a higher water level in the bucket than you are actually going to use for a shower when trying to be water efficient. Rinse, Soap up, Rinse. The switch mechanism was also quite difficult - very, very, very very stiff; which meant that you can't easily turn the water on/off at will when showering to conserve water. Leading to waste as you try to slide the switch back and forth. So when I tried the Wanderer product I was pleased on both fronts; the pump easily went into the Jerry Can, rendering the bucket unnecessary, and the switch mechanism for the shower head was a metal slider pin that you can operate quite easily. Saved lots of water this way. I haven't used the shower long-term so I can't confirm it's longevity with respect to rusting, but I have dismantled the pipe and swung it around to release the water inside, and blew air into the pump mechanism to force the water out before packing away. Worked for a couple of nights on our road trip back to Brisbane.

Works well!

Does what it says, pressure is adequate to minimise water use, with a simple but effective slide button to switch on and adjust. There are 2 washers loose in the bag, don't throw these out, you need to install 1 between the hose and the shower head. I ziptied the other around the hose. The hose also screws straight on to the water inlet of a Smarttek 6 so you can use gas to heat the water.
