Recently (March) travelled north from Brisbane to Townsville, then west to Mt Isa - through the bucketting rain, couldn't open the windows of the campervan, as it was being rocked by the winds! The fan was amazing, plugged in to the 12 volt all night, finally got cold enough to climb under the covers! Battery charged the first time I used it on mains power in around 4 hours, was expecting longer. Have not used it on Battery alone yet. Barely used any Solar power, and it ran from sun down to sun up!

The fan puts out loads of air on 240v or 12v but I haven't bothered with the battery as I always have one or the other power, mainly 12 volt. The only issue with this fan is that it feels quite flimsy and I'm worried about how long it will last on my continuous trips around Australia. Time will tell I guess, but at least I know that BCF are great with returns or exchanges :)

Camping on our road trip from Cairns to Brisbane, it was just too hot and humid in mid-march, so I bought this fan after seeing all those positive reviews. Frankly it wasn't suitable for us in a double-swag. I charged it via the 12v socket each day in our vehicle (doing about 5-6 hours of driving each day), but the fan didn't last more than about 3-4 hours in use at night (on Low setting). The fan speed is alright but it was a tight beam so placing it at our feet of our swag wasn't really working for the both of us. I tried to plug it directly into our 12v battery system of our car, but the cable wasn't long enough to reach from the side-door to our swag. Oh well. Love it!!! after months of looking for a non metal fan that works I came across this one and the bonus is that as it is rechargeable it can be moved around with ease for up to 6 hours of use and no cords - the fan is light also and fully plastic which I need as I live near the ocean and metal fans rust in minutes! the power on low is great - pretty strong - the oscillation works well - I love this fan! I live in an apartment with no ceiling fans or A/C and it's perfect my only dislike is the super bright lights for indicator of the unit charging and when it is on I have to cover them at night I don't get why they make them so bright on any of these fans...when I purchased the oscillation was squeaking so I took it back and the manager at West Gosford BCF was so ... The replacement is perfect - really happy with the fan - my next version of this would be more fan speeds and a remote to really spruce it up - but I get that these are designed for camping etc - wonderful purchase I am really happy and the service was excellent and I will go back to this particular BCF again for sure.
Used every day in north tropical Qld. Also our old fridge in the snall van kept going when the fan was blowing tiwards it. Also often used on low on hot nights just to keep the air circulaying, a very good investment.Battery function used when ditting outside on hot still nights.
Works well - not too heavy - easy to charge and operate. Bought as I am having some wiring problems with my van and my Sirocco is currently not working. This will be great for out under the awning too. Puts out a really good blast of air - recommended. The only downside is the charge time, so I bought another rechargeable fan as well.
Recently took the 12 inch wanderer fan camping in central queenland. It was a life saver. Works very well on all settings whether in 240 volt, 12 volt or battery. Made 40° days and 25° nights more bearable. Used for 5 days in s row and cant fault it.
I previously had one of these when they came with a sealed lead acid battery. That was no good because those batteries fail quickly when they get run flat all the time. I grabbed one of these now that they have a lithium battery which can be run flat. Excellent product!!
Versatile fan with options for oscillating and low speed or high speed, plus can be used without plugging in due to built in battery back up! Lightweight and has handle to hang with if need be! Been very helpful during these hot spells of weather too. '
Lightweight but good construction. Good sweep - not too narrow or wide. Strong collimated vortex, you can feel distinctly and nicely. Tested on low at 2m distance - good air volume and comfortable pressure. High should be great, probably even usable at 4 or 5m in still air. Lights are very usable. Battery compartment is only 50% used, so you stow one of the cables in there. Charging LED shows clear red when charging, but more like orange/ yellow when complete, rather than green. Might just be production batch symptomatic. Only concern is protecting the oscillation mechanism when transporting. Haven't entranced tested the battery yet. I got the Wanderer version because i liked the power selector description more than the Coleman one.
