Best wholemeal bread ever

This is by far and away the best wholemeal bread we have ever eaten. The flavor is just so great and the texture is lovely, and it's the first time I've enjoyed 'beans on' on this kind of bread. It freezes well, because it's not got that dryness after freezing texture and taste. All in all yum yum 😋

Incredibly thankful to eat wholemeal bread again!

At last. Bread that tastes bread, not cake. For wholemeal bread that is a joy to eat with cheddar, or toasted, cooled and topped with a little butter and smoked salmon, this is it. I stopped eating wholemeal bread when it became too sweet. I have longed for a wholemeal sandwich with a good cheddar, and I am being totally honest in saying that before I found this bread the alternatives had become inedible. Before this, wholemeal was only fit for jam and such things as chocolate spread or honey. Other wholemeal brands with cheese? Nauseating. With cooked meat? Just wrong. Comparable to adding slices of rare steak to cherry sorbet, or smoked salmon inside a chocolate gateau. As for toast, I admit Im not generally a fan of wholemeal toast with butter alone, but if you like it crisp and particularly soft inside, try toasting some under a *really* hot grill - not toaster - from frozen.

This loaf was delivered on Friday with a use by day of Monday. When I opened it on Saturday, it was absolutely covered in green mould. Far too much to have gone off overnight so must have been delivered like that. Wish the use by dates on bread were better from Ocado.

Review of Warburtons 400g Wholemeal
24 January 2023

I'm diabetic and whenever i have any other bread it increases my glucose levels too much. When i saw this bread stating it was no added sugar i was over the moon. Not only was the bread light with a pleasant taste it didn't have a huge impact on my glucose levels. I compared the weight of 1 slice of this bread to a slice of normal bread and couldn't believe how much more the white bread weighed from just added sugars. I think more diabetics should know about this product because i didn't know it existed until i saw it doing my Iceland shop

Review of Warburtons 800g Medium Wholemeal

Definitely enjoy this bread. Rich in flavour. Soft. Makes great sandwiches; ham salad sandwiches to egg mayonnaise. Also great with the Brussels Pate I also buy from Iceland. As well as makes fab toast with a dollop of marmalade. Or good old fashioned jam butties It's healthier too! Can't ask for more can we.... Highly recommend it.

Thin and full of holes
4 January 2024

I got this as a substitute but will not be buying it again. While the bread is soft and tasty, the slices are thin and full of holes, some so big they look like a mouse has been nibbling. Even spreading with softened butter they just fall apart. I'm all in favour of light bread, but this is taking it to extremes

poor quality bread
31 December 2022

This bread is nothing like proper wholemeal. Pale in colour, poor in flavour, flabby in texture. Like most factory bread it contains ingredients such as palm oil and emusifiers which are unhealthy and unecessary in real bread. However if you want a product that lasts for weeks without going mouldy, then buy this junk!
