I got this game after being reccommended by my friend who has been W40K fan for long time and played every single game.Gameplay:Absolutely perfect amazing blend of Hack N Slash with Third Shooter Action. This is unique and very enjoyable. Every moment I encounter enemies, it was satisfying to kill and destroy.Story:It isn't anything original but does features interesting characters with famous voice actors. The setting is indeed strange for me and conceptualize in a Fantasy/Sci Fi genre, weird combination. As a non W40K fan, I was looking for more backstory or some kind of database in game to explore W40K universe. Certain parts of singleplayer feels boring, levels are too big, it requires a lot of running from point A to B, loses focus with flow of the story, but ... MoreI got this game after being reccommended by my friend who has been W40K fan for long time and played every single game.Gameplay:Absolutely perfect amazing blend of Hack N Slash with Third Shooter Action. Your arsenal expands nicely over time, and there really isn't a lack of available ammunition in the long run. The action does build slowly, but it certainly builds some good momentum as the game gets into the last third. What is WARHAMMER 40K? I knew next to nothing about this campaign setting going into W4K: SPACE MARINE, but now I have a bit of an idea. It's a setting in which the galaxy is in a constant state of war, where entire worlds are hollowed out to fuel a galactic war machine, and space marines fight on the same battlefield as sorcerers and orcs. (Orks, that is.) It's a setting that you get by taking a gritty, war-bound, Tolkien-esque universe and throwing it thousands of years into the future - 40,000 years to be exact. They've since taken control of the planet's orbital defense cannons, effectively keeping the human fleets at bay. So it's up to Captain Titus and a group of Ultramarines (one of many groups in the Space Marine Legion) to disrupt the invasion and keep the Orks from obtaining crucial military weaponry that could turn the tide of the war. This begins only after the player character, Titus, single-handedly takes down an Ork attack ship, just so you get the idea that space marines are NOT your average soldier; they're practically walking tanks. After that amazing opening (and it really is amazing) you progress toward your objective at the whim of circumstance and Ork counterattacks, and you get a feel for the gameplay going forward. This is where I'm going to have to stress.

This was probably my favorite game of the year so far, and while that's not saying too much October, this is a really fun game. If not for some faults, it could have possibly been the best game of the year. It plays like a combination of Gears of War (without fire behind cover) and God of War, but unlike other games both aspects are accomplished very well. The health system is very original, and an acceptable alternative to the overused automatic health regeneration after a cool-down period. As anyone who plays FPS will know, that health mechanic will inevitably have you hiding from the enemies while you wait for your health to regenerate, which is boring and isn't very bad ass. As anyone who plays FPS will know, that health mechanic will inevitably have you hiding from the enemies while you wait for your health to regenerate, which is boring and isn't very bad ass. Alternatively, this game's health system rewards you for rushing the enemy and sawing/slicing/crushing an enemy in half. It also does though, bring up a new series of issues when the only way to gain health is to stun and then grapple with an enemy. The biggest problem being that the developers decided to have the grapple animations take all long time to finish, and you are vulnerable the whole time you are performing them. Consequentially, many times you end up with the same amount of health you had before eviscerating the enemy, or even many times you might be killed while slowly killing an enemy. To me, the grapple moves should either be quicker, or your character should be invulnerable. Problems also arise when you are mostly fighting enemies that are in the distance, as at times you have no way t.

I had high hopes for this game a full year before its release. That's usually detrimental, as a game (or movie) might find itself being good, but must be fantastic to live up to the hype one can create in anticipation. This game was one of those few instances where my giddy anticipation and high hopes were met with appreciation and that rare "wow factor." This game is a work of art. As one must do, when you compare it to Call of Duty, it stacks up quite nicely. See, the Call of Duty games feel very refined, and make a $billion, because they put a TON of money and personnel into the production. But when you play Space Marine, you not only feel that the game was the combined work of many talented staff, but that it was a work of passion and of art. This game puts you smack-dab into another universe, and you feel it throughout the entire game. I have been switching between the single player campaign and the multiplayer for 2 weeks now, and still haven't finished the single player campaign. There are people calling it short, but I guarantee you those people didn't enjoy the entirety of the game. You want to experience every nook and cranny of this universe, and that requires wandering, exploring, and killing. If you rush thru things, what, seriously, is the point? That's like skateboarding thru a museum at haste. All told, this game is a work of art, a masterpiece, and a must own. I LOVE the multiplayer. Love it. Unlike COD, where 90% of all users are using the FAMA.

This happens to be the first game I've owned of the Warhammer 40k franchise, so when it comes to the lore, I am pretty much in the dark. You have the ability for ranged attacks using guns, and up close melee attacks with a variety of weapons that you can find throughout the campaign. When enemies get to close you can switch on the fly to your melee weapon of choice and start hacking away. Mix in your "stun" attack occasionally to initiate a variety of stun moves(single target, or AoE). When an enemy is stunned you can initiate a fatality move which produces plenty of blood, a nice death kill animation, as well as granting you health. An interesting, and refreshing way to regenerate your health I think. Not all is good with this setup though. While the.

I feel that this game simply came out at the wrong time. By pitting it against Gears 3, THQ potentially cut off a substantial chunk of sales, not to mention reviewer attention, from this underrated gem. Not only is this game a culmination of decades of some of the richest lore in science fiction, it is also a superb title that offers a ton of value for money.Graphics: Animations, design, the frame-rate and the overall textures look amazing. Fingers crossed.Sound: I actually have the soundtrack CD, and it really is one of the best I have heard this year. Epic, pulse pounding drums and rich, emotive string ensembles really create the sort of backdrop that befits a bleak, futile, war torn universe. Kudos to the composers.Story: Above average. It actually takes multiple playthroughs to realize that there is actually quite a bit going on. Additionally, collecting all of the servo skulls reveals a bit more about what was going on before/during the ork invasion of Ajakis. While I felt the story was comparable to other triple A shooters like Killzone etc. (i.e. non stop action over the span of a day or so), it really could have incorporated more a Mass Effect slower.

Warhammer 40k Space Marine has a single player campaign, multiplayer vs modes, and forthcoming Co-op mode (estimated Oct. 2011). I still died a few times, but I got to experience the campaign story (which a great tale of civilization fighting a desperate battle for control of a Forge World). The harder levels get very challenging. The multiplayer mode is also lots of fun. There is a good community (on xbox live) with plenty of players at a variety of levels. As you increase your xp and perform certain tasks you will unlock additional weapons and armor. There is a lot of customization possible.Warhammer 40k has been around for a long time, but this game was my first exposure to it. I loved it. The Roman-styled futuristic super soldiers.

Space Marine's campaign is quite literally the most fun I've ever had playing through a single player campaign. From what I understand, the game underwent quite a lengthy overhaul in the design phase, probably aiming to sufficiently distinguish the game play from Gears of War.In that regard, they absolutely succeeded. A better game to compare Space Marine to would be Ninja Gaiden. While there is no "snap-cover" mechanic like in Gears of War, there *are* absolutely mind-boggling numbers of enemies throwing themselves at you pretty much all of the time. In that respect, I couldn't help but recall the frenetic against-all-odds feeling of Ninja Gaiden. In that game, you are supposed to prevail because, hey, you're a @#$ing NINJA. However, in addition to the "hundreds versus one" in close combat, Relic has managed to incorporate the most fluid ranged combat/close combat system I have ever used. You can literally snipe an enemy on the high ground one second, and then spin around and decapitate another enemy with your bare hands, and you don't even think about the control scheme at all!The campaign could have easily gotten repetitive, considering that your main staple weapons only gradually expand in variety, but intelligent level design consistently create.
