The difference being the army set has the rulebook and the objective cards, a dreadnought and the Emperor's Champion while the combat patrol has an Impulsor and the upgrade frame/relics. They both have crusaders, a marshall, and intercessors all w/ the unique chained equipment and aesthetic parts.

A good set but kind of content lacking compared to the Black Templars Combat Patrol for the price. The difference being the army set has the rulebook and the objective cards, a dreadnought and the Emperor's Champion while the combat patrol has an Impulsor and the upgrade frame/relics. They both have crusaders, a marshall, and intercessors all w/ the unique chained equipment and aesthetic parts.

This is a 9th edition set of the Black Templar box, coming with the essentials you need to get an army started. It is not produced anymore, so when they are gone they are gone. Value is great, Codex is for 9th so not valid but the art and lore is cool.
I love the back story of the Black Templars and this box set made it easy to start an army. It is a 600 point combat patrol. You will need the Space Marine Codex and tactical cards to get the full use. I would recommend the Black Templar Combat Patrol to expand.
This is a great set. The new minis look fantastic. Really liking the updated Emperor's Champion model. Codex looks good too.

I was hesitant to buy this box set, but after seeing the miniaturemarket discount I decided it was worth it. I'm glad I did! The codex is beautiful and a great throwback to 3rd edition. The new Primaris Crusader squad is amazing and highly customizable for being mono-pose. The Emperor's Champion is a beautiful upgrade to a classic sculpt. I love the poweraxe making it's triumphant return with the Marshal. I am now re-planning my entire army because of this box set.
